This is a scheduled post. I'm still road tripping!
I have something I want to talk about and I'm wondering if anyone else is the same way or complete opposite. Basically...
I wear my heart of my sleeve. Yup, that's right I admit it, I do. I can't help it. I'm the girl who will sit at home, on the couch and cry because of a commercial. I'm the girl who cries when a guy and girl end up together in a movie. I'm the girl who tears up when people talk about their family members passing. I cry during television montages. I cry when people tell me things from their heart.
I also tend to cry when I'm expressing emotions from my own heart. For a long time, I use to be the kid who never cried. Who never told people what they meant to me or expressed how I really felt. I think the older I've become the more I've worn my heart of my sleeve. Now granted while I'm at work, I can keep that stone cold, no heart, and I don't care attitude in check. However, recently even at work I've become a little softer.
Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with wearing my heart of my sleeve. Sometimes it's probably not the smartest thing to do but it's just who I am.
Girl, I hear ya! Specific things really set me off - like animals and children. I can't watch any movie with animals in it, I can't watch the commercials on TV about abused animals.. any movie or show or commercial about babies or children makes me cry. I'm a great big baby sometimes! HA!
ReplyDeleteI wear my heart on my sleeve sometimes too... there is nothing wrong wth having emotions!! xxxooo
ReplyDeleteI think we've led a similar life. I never used to cry or share my feelings, my mom used to joke I had a heart of stone. Then as I got older things changed...and now I'm the girl who shares too much and cries at everything!
ReplyDeleteabsolutely nothing wrong with wearing your heart on your sleeve!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think there is anything wrong with that at all! I am the same way, and I always feel like, for me, that it's better to be open with my emotions then completely closed off. I feel like I gain more meaningful friendships that way. Yes, sometimes you will get burned, but oh well...
ReplyDeleteFor a lot of people, it's the opposite. The older you get the less you wear your heart on your sleeve. I'd consider yourself lucky!
I have to say, I'm a lot like this. I take things personally and am so emotional when it comes to things like commercials and tv shows!
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy I was just telling a French friend of mine how hard it has been lately for me over here and i started crying. Her eyes got so big and I realized that I NEVER do that! Sometimes you just gotta...
ReplyDeleteGood for you! Life is so much better when you just express your emotions!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could. But I don't! I had a guy I was dating tell me "You don't have walls around your heart, you just don't have a heart!" HA!
ReplyDeletehope you are having fun on your trip!!!
ReplyDeleteThe way I see it, wearing your heart on your sleeve is WAY better than having a heart of stone! And I agree - as I've gotten older, I have become much more emotional.
ReplyDeleteI am definately like this too! I laugh at myself when I cry over a commercial though! haha I remember when I was little that the first movie I ever cried over was "My Girl" when it first came out. That is some sad stuff right there.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I completely wear my heart on my sleeve as well. I don't think there is anything wrong with having a heart and being emotional!
ReplyDeleteMe too.. to a tee
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge cry baby. I cry really easily especially when it comes to fighting with Josh, the water works are instant lol
