This week I'm looking back on something special in my life: Baton Twirling (nope not kidding).
It all started when I was in the 5th grade. I really wanted to be one of those girls in the cute outfit. So I started taking classes, joined a competition team and became a majorette. I twirled all through out middle school, high school and in college. I loved every single minute of it!

Senior Year in H.S.

My 2nd College Year: Marshall Stadium

My 1st year in college GMAC Bowl
What great photos!
ReplyDeletedang girl! you look good!!
ReplyDeleteomg...i twirled too when i was in grade school...
ReplyDeletewe had a traveling competition team -- i loved it!!!
I am highly approve of every single aspect of this post...
ReplyDeletethe pictures, the outfits, and the singing of time warp.
That is so cool! I'm always impressed by them at football games!
ReplyDeleteI was a twirler as well but I quit lol. But my brother was actually a pretty famous CA twirler and he even won 3 world championships titles when he was 8 years old.... But he quit before he went to mddle school.
ReplyDeleteYou look good:) I am jealous of the fact you twirled in college:) I always wanted to do that. Seemed like it would be a ton of fun. Did you ever do competitions like nationals? Or was it mainly parades and football games?
Awwww... HHS & Marshall Band was like the best time of my life! I wish I could go back to that time just for marching band again!
ReplyDeleteGood idea on the flashback Friday! I may have to make my own!
That is FAN-STINKIN-TASTIC! I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI definitely love the outfits! My sister and I went to one baton twirling class and quit after that haha. We tried everything but ended up sticking with gymnastics.
ReplyDeleteThose are awesome! I don't have any of my old photos scanned!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is cool! Cute pictures!!
ReplyDeleteI used to love baton twirling but unfortunately never got to compete as the group I was part of only did dance shows at fetes and things like that. I'm still holding onto the dream that one day my health will be good enough that I can run my own baton twirling troupe - that would be totally awesome.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like so much fun! I wish I could do something like that, but I so lack the coordination needed
ReplyDeleteOh this is sooo funny! I am loving looking at all these flashback Friday pictures of people. Yours are so fun! We never had baton twirlers at our school when I was younger but it looked like it was a lot of fun from your pictures! I am going to have go dig out some old pictures so I can do this next time! :)
ReplyDeleteYou look so great in these pics! How fun!
ReplyDeleteI remember that!! :) Well the college part at least. Cool pics!
ReplyDeleteHilariously awesome. Heh, this makes me think of Miss Congeniality.
ReplyDeleteMarshall in Huntington? I grew up about 2 hours from there... but on the Ohio side of the river :)
