My trip out to California was way to short but I know soon enough, I'll be moving out. In the mean time, bare with me over the next few days because I plan to recap a lot.
Thursday night I arrived to Sacramento pretty late. I got settled in and tried to get a good night's sleep because Friday I got up bright and early and headed over to San Francisco. Since it's only about 90 miles, the trip was really short and I didn't catch a lot of traffic until I actually got into the city.
Once I got there we hit the ground running. I immediately headed over to Washington Square for some breakfast. I had been told that Mama's was a great place to eat. Well it really must be because when wIgot there, the line was down the block. I didn't want to waste too much time in line so I walked down the street and found a great place called Cafe Divine. Where I was served this...
Once I finished breakfast I drove over to Alamo Square to see the famous Painted Ladies. The Painted Ladies are by far the most famous row houses in S.F. and one them happens to be the house that was featured in the opening credits of Full House.
At the steps of the Full House home
From there I headed over to Castro and got to see the famous Castro Theater. I also walked the streets where the once great Harvey Milk walked and worked.
Then it was off to Baker Beach to get some great shots of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was such a beautiful day! I loved it. I highly suggest going to Baker if you want some great shots of the bridge, water and sand in your photos.
I was on a tight schedule because I had booked the Alcatraz tour in the afternoon and since you have to be on the ferry by a certain time I dashed over to the Fisherman's Wharf to Pier 33 for the tour. Being on Alcatraz was amazing because I'd seen it so many times in movies so it was surreal being there. Fair warning... the ferry ride to and from was FREEZING. The wind off the bay was so cold, I was thanking the heavens above that I brought a jacket
From there I hit up In & Out Burger and then headed to AT&T Park for the Giants game. They were in their 40's of consecutive sold out games. I was really lucky and I was able to find great seats on Stub Hub.
Sadly the Giants lost but the game was still really entertaining!!! Once the game ended I made the trek back to Sacramento. All in all it was a fabulous day in San Francisco!
aah!! I LOVE SAN FRAN! i've got a very similar shot of me and robert in front of the painted ladies! however, i took my full house obsession a bit further and had robert videotape me running over the hill and falling down like in the opening scene...
