Saturday Smiles

Every Saturday, I try to post 5 things that made me smile during the week. Often I find myself getting caught up in the small stuff but this year I'm making an effort to be conscious of it. This year is about being happy and finding happiness even in the small things! Want to join me? Go ahead and post your Saturday Smiles!

1. Vacation.

Rental Car, accommodations, airline tickets and entertainment planned. It's all done! I am so excited to go on vacation. I'm just counting down the days. Literally I feel like this...

2. Canelo vs. GGG.
Clearly we know who I'm rooting for to win if this fight ever happens. Canelo gave up the belt and I think it's because he didn't want to come up 5 pounds in weight. Their promoters keep saying that the fight will happen but we have no idea when. The fans are guessing that it won't happen this year.

3. Warm Weather.
California is heating up. This past week was in the high 90s so everyone out here is planning for a hot, hot summer. I think they might be right because the weather feels like it did when I first moved out here and that was the hottest summer I had ever felt. I can remember on July 4th it was like 120 degrees and the electric grid couldn't even stay up. Let's hope it doesn't get that bad again.

4. Bosch Books.
It all started for me by watching the Amazon Prime series Bosch. We binged watched Seasons 1 & 2 and are now left hanging waiting on season three to come out. When I was telling a coworker this she informed me that it was made off of a book series. Indeed she was right! I got the first book by Michael Connelly and flew through it. Now I'm on book two. These books are great and I can see why they made the show off of them. Now I've got something to get me through until the next season starts.

5. Christmas Ornaments.

I'm my own little factory every night after I come home from work. I come home, get changed and relaxed, eat dinner and then start working on my ornaments. Some nights I can finish an ornament and then some nights I have to finish them the next. On the weekends I try to make at least 2-3 ornaments. I'm still loving making these! I'm taking orders so let me know if you see something you love. Once certain fabrics are gone I can't get them again.

1. Debuting my Ornaments.
I have been making these ornaments and I couldn't wait to share them with all of you! I have been having so much fun making them. I can't wait to do a display! I've also been asked if I do custom orders and the answer is YES!

2. Bike Rides.
Last weekend we got my husband and bicycle and since then we have went on several bike rides. It's fun and doesn't feel like exercise. I just cruise around on my cruiser and he speeds along on his road bike.

3. GGG.
This guy is a machine! He recently fought in LA and rocked it! Knock out king!

 4. The Martian.
I saw this movie a few months ago and ever since then I feel like my passion for space has came back to life. I check the location of Mars, I look up the daily news on it and I sit and plan out trips to Houston to visit the Johnson Space Center. Plus I watch the movie over and over... now I just need a T-shirt haha!

5. Vacation.
I am in full vacation countdown. We have our flights booked and our rental car reserved. I'm lining up attractions and we are finalizing our accommodations. I can't wait!

1. Fabric.
I'm gearing up to work on a craft project at the end of the month and I've been collecting fabrics. Now I can't stop! I keep seeing tons of patterns/colors that I want! I'm horrible at adding things to my amazon cart and leaving it there. I think I have about 8 Jelly Fabric Rolls sitting in my cart.

2. Packages from my Mom.
I love when I get real mail from my mom. Living so far apart is hard but it's always nice when I get some goodies in the mail from her. I also try to send her things as well so she can have the same feeling. I recently sent her some wedding photos in an album. I think she liked it!

3. Staycation.

I have 5 days off in a row and while we were originally planning on trying to go on a vacation during this time it just didn't work out that way. I'm still smiling because I have the 5 days off from work! We do have a day trip planned though!

4. Muir Woods.

We went there on Easter Sunday last week and had a fun time. We were also able to add to our travel tree. The gift shop had ornaments! Anytime we travel or go somewhere new we look to see if they have an ornament for our tree or something that I can make into an ornament. They had tons of different ornaments and we got one!

5. My Realtor Husband.

This smart man sold two houses this month! He became passionate about real estate last summer and set out to become an agent and that's exactly what he did! Flash forward to March and he works with a huge company and is putting his clients into their dream homes. If you need a realtor in the Sacramento area let me know! I know a good one...

Saturday Smiles

Every Saturday, I try to post 4-5 things that made me smile during the week. Often I find myself getting caught up in the small stuff but this year I'm making an effort to be conscious of it. This year is about being happy and finding happiness even in the small things! Want to join me? Go ahead and post your Saturday Smiles!

1. Donald Trump.

My husband sent me this photo of Donald Trump in response to a comment I made and it cracked me up. I couldn't stop laughing and now we keep sending it again and again as a response. It's hilarious!

2. Christmas Ornaments.

Attempting to make my own Fabric Christmas ornaments. I'm starting these at the end of the month while I'm on a staycation. I've been gathering all the supplies and I'm hoping I can pull these off!

3. Our Wedding Video
(Photo taken by our videographer)

In true fashion, I have tagged him several times on instagram letting him know I'm impatiently waiting to see our wedding video. Well he finally told me this week that it's almost done! I'm trying not to rush perfection but I just can't wait to see it! We chose him because his 8-10 minute all day recaps are stunning! Plus of course we get all the raw footage from the day! Any day now!

4. Stuart Woods books.

I just finished one of his latest books and I always love them. I've been reading his books since I was 14 and they just get better and better. The main character is Stone Barrington, an ex- NYPD detective turned lawyer who always finds himself in the craziest predicaments. His ex-partner who's still his best friend is still on the force and together they work through all of the crazy situations they get each other in to. Each book builds upon the other so if you decide to start reading them start with his first book, New York Dead.

1. The Prince Concert
I went to the concert only knowing three songs and now I'm a Prince fan. He was great! It was literally just him, a microphone and a piano. He played for over two hours and he was just fantastic!

2. Our St. Patrick's Day Décor.
3. Galaxy Nails.
I love anything to do with space. Since I watched the Martian a few weeks ago my passion for space has been reignited so when I asked my nail lady to hook me up with some space nails she indeed did!

4. Birthday Planning.
No seriously it makes me ecstatic! I can't wait!!!

5. This wedding photo...

1. Kings Game
We have a deep history in our relationship revolving the Sacramento Kings. I love it when we go to a game because it reminds me of when we were first dating. This is the last season the Kings play in Arco arena and it's bittersweet because that's where we fell in love.

2. Cat Nails
I love our little Tesco and decided to get my nails done with a cat design. I love how they turned out.

3. Breakfast Food
I love breakfast foods. Seriously if my husband would let me I would eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I love all breakfast foods. This plate includes a waffle sandwich and it is pure heaven in your mouth!

4. Birthday Planning
We have officially decided where to go for my birthday this year! Next month we are booking our flights and I'm already eying hotels and the itinerary! I can't wait!!! I don't think there is enough exclamation points in the world to explain how excited I am.

This Saturday I'm going to look back on the five moments that made me smile from our wedding.

1. Quality time with each other.

I love that we got to talk to each other before the wedding. I love that we had a sweet heart table.

2. Interacting with every single guest.

We built time into our reception to talk to every single guest. We went from table to table thanking them for coming, catching up with them and seeing if they were having a great time like us!

3. My mom walking me down the isle.

My mom walked me down the isle to my theme song to life... the Romancing the Stone theme song.

4. Our favors.

We gave our custom miniature champagne bottles along with a nutcracker ornament. The labels had one of our engagement photos on it along with the date and location of our wedding.

5. My Bridesmaids

These ladies flew to California from all different parts of the country to share this special day with us. On top of that it was the holidays too! They were amazing!
