Two Movies for Tonight

Guess what’s back?! Two Movies for Tonight!! I’ve been watching some great movies lately...

Looking for something to watch tonight? Maybe you have a long weekend? Well have no fear! Here's two movies that are worthy of your time. These two movies are very different but equally good to watch. Sit back, relax and watch these two movies.

Lakeview Terrace
When you buy a house, you hope for the best when it comes to your neighbors. We all don’t want those party people right beside us. So when newly married Lisa and Chris move into their new home and find out their neighbor is a police officer they figure their safe. As time goes on, Chris and Lisa begin to notice that their officer neighbor isn’t all he’s cracked up to be. When Chris suspects Abel (Samuel L. Jackson) of disapproving of his interracial marriage he rocks the boat with his neighbor. From then on out it becomes a war and since one of them is an LAPD officer, the deck isn’t split even. Watch to see how this movie unfolds between neighbors who just can’t get along.

 Gone Baby Gone
Boston Private Investigator Patrick (Casey Affleck) and his girlfriend and investigative partner Angie (Michelle Monaghan) watch a televised plea asking to bring an adbucted little girl home. When they meet with the grandparents, they decide to take on the case. Patrick uses his connections in the Boston crime underworld to find out that the girls mother is a drug mule for one of the local drug lords. He uncovers the families dirty secrets and along the way stumbles upon traces of the missing girl. What he uncovers is unexpected and not only threatens the life of the girl but his own life and his relationship.

Both movies are really good so if you need something to watch then I highly recommend both.

Two Movies for Tonight

Looking for something to watch tonight? Time is precious and you don't want to spend it searching for a movie to only be disappointed with it in the end. So that's why I've brought you two movies for tonight. The movies I review here give you an idea of what's good to watch any time you want to quickly get a movie and start watching it. This week I'm giving you two movies that are totally worthy of your time.

The first movie... The Day After Tomorrow.

Welcome to the summer! What's one way to cool down? An ice age! First of all climate change is real people. If you don't think so, I'll remind of that later this summer when we are set to have the hottest summer on record. Second of all, my husband and I love this movie. Every time it's on television we catch ourselves turning it on. Doesn't matter if there's 5 minutes left or it's just started. It's a staple. We love it. I don't know if it's because it's set in New York or what but we just love turning it on. If you haven't seen this yet, then grab a popsicle, sit down on the couch and cool down as you watch and become familiar with the drastic incidents that can take place because of climate change.

The second movie... Deju Vu.

I hadn't watched this movie till about a year ago. It came out in 2006 but I somehow missed the boat. I think I remember seeing the trailer but I thought it was a different kind of movie that it really turned out to be. I watched this at the urging of my husband because he's a fan of Denzel Washington (the star of the movie). I sat down and watched it and I liked it. Then I saw it on tv a few weeks later and tuned in. I liked it a little bit more and then eventually it grew on me. I'd actually say this is on my top movies list. The story line was original. The characters are believable. New Orleans is a great back drop and me personally, I always wonder about if we could go back in time and alter events. Watch it, trust me it'll become one of your favorites too.

So as we start the summer, what are you watching?

Two Movies for Tonight

Looking for something to watch tonight? Time is precious and you don't want to spend time searching for a movie to only be disappointed with it in the end. So that's why I've brought you two movies for tonight. The movies I review here give you an idea of what's good to watch any time you want to quickly get a movie and start watching it. This week I'm giving you two movies that are totally worthy of your time.

The first movie... Hard to Kill.

Can you believe I had never seen this until recently? This is a classic 90's movie staring Steven Seagal. If you only remember his failed attempt at a reality show and being a real police officer then you are missing out. He was THE man apparently in the 90s for these types of movies. The movie is incredibly cheesy and awful in some parts but it's highly entertaining. If you've ever watched a movie and chuckled at how unbelievable it is etc then this movie will make you laugh for sure.

Seagal stars as an L.A. Detective named Mason Storm. When he witnesses a crime for hire taking place with someone who has a prominent name, it brings the danger to his front door. His wife is brutally killed right in front of him and his young son has to try to flee the home. Mason is shot and enters a coma. Years past and he's still never woken. Seven years later Mason finally begins to come out of his coma and finds the world very different but his problems still follow.

Realizing he's still in danger he enlists a nurse to help him escape the coma institute and together they go on a journey to get his strength back and to find out who has it out for him. Watch this movie and enjoy the laughs. It will make you want to watch more of Steven's movies. At least it did for me!

The second movie... Titanic.

I saw this movie twice in the theaters and so did my husband. It's still as good today as it was then. Recently, we sat down and watched this classic movie for the first time in awhile. The scenes on the ship make you feel like their really on the Titanic. It's amazing the work and details that they did for the movie. If you've been reading my blog for awhile then you know that my husband is a huge fan of this movie. He loves it and he loves all things Titanic.

Last summer we went to Tennessee and did the tour at the Titanic museum there. He loved it! We got to feel a huge ice berg and experience the temperature of the fateful night. We got to see furniture and clothing and items that were retrieved from the ship. We also got to see photographs that were taken by people aboard. It was really great. We enjoyed it a lot. So when we sat down to watch the movie I wondered if it was just as good as it was back then.

Well it was... I did forget how long it is though! Everyone knows the fateful tale of the Titanic but the movie gives you a better understanding of the horror that night as it began to sink. If you've never seen this movie watch it. It earned several Oscars and was nominated for a record breaking amount.

The Girl on the Train.

This movie wasn't what I was expecting at all. Granted I didn't read the book before watching. Usually, I read the book but this time I didn't. I thought the movie was OK but it just wasn't anything like what I thought it was going to be from what I had seen in the previews. It was still worth watching but I'm sure the book was much better.

Rachel rides the train everyday to and from the city. Rachel looks out the window and everyday sees her old neighborhood, neighbors and ex-husband. The ride on the train is a constant glimpse into the life that she use to have and the life of her ex and his new wife. Rachel is still devastated by not being able to have children and the failure of her marriage. She ended the marriage when she caught him cheating with a real estate agent. She began drinking heavily and she would blackout and have to relive what happened by her husband telling her of her outbursts. She blamed herself for the failure of the marriage and her infertility since she heard how bad she behaved.

One day on the train, she notices the neighbor with another man who isn't her husband and it puts her into a tailspin. She goes on a drinking rampage and finds herself at the end of the day getting off the train in her old neighborhood. When Rachel wakes up the next morning and news hits that the women she saw on her balcony has gone missing she gets a sick feeling inside her stomach that she has something to do with it. The only problem... she can't remember anything from the night before. She begins on a journey to recover what happened that night on the train.
The second movie... The Accountant.

I really liked this movie. From the previews it looked interested but once you've watched you realize it was much better than the previews. I will be watching this one again.

Chris Wolf (Affleck) is a math genius. He's also been diagnosed with a high- functioning form of autism. When he was a child he was offered free admission to an institute to learn how to cope and become the most productive. However, his military father decided that he needed to be out in the world and learn to do it his way. Chris' mother couldn't handle it and left leaving him with just his brother and father. They moved over the years all of the world and their father taught them how to defend themselves.

Now... Chris works as an accountant but some of his clients aren't on the level. He finds himself in the middle of something he didn't bargain for and an innocent person could get hurt. Usually, this wouldn't matter as Chris has had to take of problems before by any means. But he takes a liking to the girl who has been kind to him. So Chris takes it upon himself to help the innocent girl he comes into contact with before he flees the city. Do they both make it out harms way? Watch and find out.

DeepWater Horizon.
This movie is based on the true events of the DeepWater Horizon off shore drilling site located off the coast of Louisiana. In America and abroad we all remember oil spilling into the ocean and onto our beaches from April 20-July 15, 2010. We remember the cleanup, the devastation and the fact that many animals died and people suffered loss revenue in fishing, tourism and more. What many people don't realize or maybe I just didn't realize is that several people were killed in the process of the spill.

Deepwater Horizon was a semi-submerged, deep water oil rig floating over 40 miles away from the coast of Louisiana. Crew members would live on site for weeks at a time while doing their job. The rig was owned by BP Oil and operated by TransOcean which is a private contractor. On April 20, the rig was set to begin drilling but when Supervisor Jimmy and Engineer Mike arrive back to the rig they find workers assigned to pour concrete around the well to stabilize it leaving the rig without doing the job. Jimmy insists that they perform a pressure test to ensure safety before they begin drilling. Much to the annoyance of BP they follow suit and begin the tests.

The pressure tests begin to show problems and that the rig is not yet stable for drilling. The pressure tests weaken the drill well and in turn it crumbles the foundation. Explosions begin to occur and it becomes apparent that they all need to get off the dying rig.

If you haven't seen this movie, then I highly suggest watching it. I thought it was very informative and shows what those men and women went through that night. BP shame on you!

The second movie... The Black Cat.

This 1934 black and white film was a much watch for me recently. I had heard that it was about a black cat going around killing people. Well... I love our cat Tesco, so I was curious to see this little black cat going around and somehow knocking people off.

The Black Cat is about a money hungry family waiting for their grandmother/mother to die. She has become ill and everyone is at the house waiting for her death. She knows this and informs them all of what they will receive once she has passed. In the process, strange things begin to happen. Poison ends up killing several of her cats that roam the property and once she passes the family begins to turn on each other.

A storm has flooded the roads and the family is trapped at the house. The phone lines have been cut and now it's up to them to find out who's killing off members of the family. A black cat roams the property and comes into the house. The family begins to notice that when someone is going to be the next victim, the black cat crosses their path.

Watch this cute film for an entertaining laugh. If you love cats you'll love this old film.

Criminal.
This movie came out in early 2016 and I had never heard of it until about a week ago. I was surprised because it has so many big name actors in it. It stars Ryan Reynolds, Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman and Tommy Lee Jones. I thought the movie had a really original story line and enjoyed the movie. I'm really surprised it didn't do better in the theater to where we heard more about it.

Ryan Reynolds is living in London with his family as a CIA agent Bill Pope. When he comes into contact with a man known as the Dutchman, his life soon becomes unstable. The Dutchman has hacked all of America's warhead codes and can launch a missile anywhere and at anytime. He comes to the United States and to Pope because he wants asylum and money. Pope takes him to a safe location and is the only person to know where he's located. When he becomes incapable of telling the CIA where the Dutchman is located they bring in  lifetime career offender- Jerico (Costner).

Jerico has never been able to have feelings due to a frontal lobe injury as a child. So living a life of crime has never bothered him. He's never cared for anyone or anything except money. When the CIA does an experiment to give him Pope's memories and feelings in effort to locate the Dutchman he doesn't understand the feelings he feels. He also wants no part in helping the CIA. He does however, want the bag of money he saw in a memory of Pope's. While he goes out in search of the bag of money, he comes across Pope's wife and child and begin to cares about someone for the first time in his life.

Watch this interesting movie and you'll be entertained for sure.

The second movie... Duff.

I laughed so hard during this movie. It really reminds me of another hilarious movie... She's the Man. I can't wait to re-watch this movie that's how funny I thought it was. I had never really heard of the term DUFF until now but it's totally true! Duff stands for Designated Ugly Fat Friend. When you think about it... everyone has a Duff! Watch this movie, trust me... it'll make your cheeks hurt from laughing.

Bianca is a senior in high school living in the suburbs of Atlanta. Her two best friends are Jessica and Casey who when she describes them are labeled as more popular and better looking than her. Bianca's next door neighbor and childhood friend, Wesley is a star football player and wanted by all the girls. Bianca only has eyes for Toby, a guitar player/singer whom she can't bring herself to talk to because she's so shy. When Jessica and Casey persuade her to attend the most popular girl in high school, Madison's party she goes in hopes of seeing Toby there. The party turns out to be the worst night for her.

Wesley without realizing it as first informs Bianca that she's a DUFF. He quickly tries to explain to her that the duff doesn't have to be ugly or fat. It's just someone less popular in their group of friends who is more accessible and people go to when they want to date or hook up with their hotter friends. Bianca is shocked and then realizes that she's Jessica and Casey's DUFF. She's so upset she unfriends them and vows to get Toby to go out with her. To accomplish this she enlists the help of Wesley in turn for tutoring him in Chemistry so he can keep playing football.

Bianca and Wes begin to fall into their old pattern of being childhood friends once they start hanging out to study and he gives her lessons on how to get Toby to go out with her. Along the way they have their ups and downs and hilarious events take over Bianca's social life.

Watch Duff. You won't be sorry!

The first movie...Snowden.

Honestly, I had no interest in watching this movie but my husband wanted to see it so we did. As I started watching the movie, I got more and more into it. When the real life incident was taking place, I remember it being on the news and I remember everyone saying what a criminal Edward Snowden really was. Besides that I didn't know a lot about what he had done and the situation. I watched the movie and was completely blown away. Not about what he did but how the media covered it. First let's talk about what he did. He took NSA information outside of the agency and shared it with the world. Yes, it was considered spying but no agent was harmed. Why did he do it? To expose the fact that the NSA and other agencies were listening in on Americans who weren't doing anything wrong.

The movie follows the personal life and career of Edward Snowden. It shows he came to the position that he was when he took the information outside of the agency. It also shows the life he was having with his girlfriend Lindsey Mills. It shows their worldwide romance and constant battle of him not being able to talk about his work at all with her. It also shows the real Snowden and his reasoning behind his actions.

I highly suggest watching this. If you only watched some news coverage or even if you feel like you knew a lot about the events, watch it. You might learn something or find an opinion on the subject. For me, it made me really look at the media differently.

The second movie...Tarzan.

This Tarzan is a new twist on the Legend of Tarzan. Set in the late 1880s, Tarzan has been living out of the jungle and in England with his bride Jane. When a man from America named George (Samuel L. Jackson) asks him to go to the Congo with him in searching of rumors he's heard of people being taken into slavery, Tarzan agrees. Tarzan quickly learns that his old rival Mbonga, has hired a high ranking British official Leon,  to bring him back to the Congo. What he'll get for delivering Tarzan is diamonds.

Jane is quickly taken hostage by Leon and separated from Tarzan. He must find a way to get her back. The only way is to trek through the dangerous jungle. Refusing to leave his side George follows him into the jungle is taken on the ride of his life. Tarzan enlists the help of every animal he's ever met to get Jane back. Meanwhile Jane and Leon on traveling down the river in the Congo getting closer and closer to Mbonga. You'll have to watch to find out if Tarzan can get Jane back and if they'll make it out of the Congo once again.

I thought this was an interesting twist on a story that's been told over and over again for the ages. I thought the interaction with the animals was life like and the scenery of the jungle was breathtaking.

Exit to Eden.

I might be the only person excited about this movie. Exit to Eden came out in 1994 and was quickly a flop in theaters. It then went out of print once it was produced on dvd and could only be viewed on VHS for years. Now... finally, Exit to Eden is back in print as a part of the Vault Series. This movie is so hilariously bad that it's good. I asked for this for Christmas and I was thrilled when I got it on dvd. Watch it, you'll enjoy it as a good laugh.

Exit to Eden stars Rosie O'Donnell (Shelia) and Dan Aykroyd (Fred) as two Los Angeles Detectives who are out to catch some Diamond smugglers. When Elliott Slater, a professional photographer accidently gets a photo of the smugglers he becomes a target. Before the smugglers can get to him and his camera he jets off to the island of Eden. Eden is an island where BDSM thrives and you can live out all your fantasies. Quickly to protect Elliott Fred and Shelia go undercover to the island. Elliott and the gang end up getting more than they bargained for..... watch the outcome!

The second movie... The Long, Long Trailer.
The Long, Long Trailer stars Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz as Nicholas and Tacy who are newlyweds. These two have bought a 40ft. trailer and are travelling across the United States to get to Nicky's new work location in Colorado. This trip will be a part of their honeymoon. Tacy is excited to make this trailer their home along the way and once they get to Denver. However, once they get the trailer things begin to go haywire. Their car isn't strong enough to pull the trailer so their forced to buy a new car. Then Nicky has to learn how to drive the new car with the long, long trailer in tow.

The mountains on their travels begin to take a toll on their trailer and their spirits begin to get crushed along the way as well. These two find out that being newlyweds is harder work than they originally thought. The trailer doesn't help them at working well together. Their journey turns out some hilarious moments along the way.

I had seen this a long time ago but recently watched it over the holidays. If you loved the I Love Lucy show this is very similar in ways. Give it a watch and I'm sure you'll find yourself laughing at the crazy situations they get themselves into.

Selfless.

I was completely invested in this movie. I thought it was interesting and a new concept for a movie. I like that I wasn't able to predict what was going to happen next. I found this movie very interesting and compelling. It's a little science fiction but not so much that you're like that could never happen. So what's Selfless about?

Billionaire business man Damian Hale has been on top of his game for years. Then one day he's told that he has terminal cancer. Damian isn't ready to leave this world so when he comes across a business card directing him to call a company that "can help" he gives it a try. Damian meets Professor Albright who has a radical medical procedure that takes one person's consciousness and places it into an artificially grown healthy body. Since Damian has nothing to lose he agrees to pay a large sum of money and undergo the procedure. It's successful but with one minor side affect... vivid hallucinations.

Professor Albright supplies Damian with medication that he must take every 12 hours for a period of time that will cause the hallucinations to stop and stay at bay. However, he has to meet with him every week to get his supply. He also needs to stay in a house of the Professors choice for an extended period of time to be monitored.

When Damian has such a vivid hallucination he starts googling the things that he sees. He quickly learns that it's a real place. He shakes Professor Albright and goes to see the location of his hallucination and what he finds completely rocks him. You'll have to watch this movie to find out what happens!

The second movie... The Christmas Shepard.
The Christmas Shepard is a Hallmark Christmas movie that I just recently watched. Like every other Hallmark Christmas movie it sucks you in with cute animals and a heartwarming story happening during the holiday season. I even got my husband to watch this one because of the dog.

When Buddy the German Shepard runs away in a scary storm, Sally frantically searches for her beloved Buddy. He is one of the last connections she has to her now late husband. Buddy was found overseas while her husband was serving in the military. Her late husband brought him home and he became their family pet. Now Sally's son is serving overseas and Buddy is the only living thing she's got for Christmas with her.

Sally posts on all kinds of websites and visits every shelter. Much to her surprise and delight her dog is found. However, he's been adopted by a new family who found him at a shelter. Buddy's new adopted family has been through hard times and Buddy begins to be a light of happiness in their lives. When Sally shows up wanting her Buddy back, Mark and Emma (Buddy's new owners) are reluctant to let him go. Where will Buddy end up and who will be happy? Watch and find out!

Central Intelligence.
I love everything that has the Rock in it and Kevin Hart is pretty reliable in the laughs department, so when I saw that these two teamed up for a movie I knew I had to watch it. I thought the movie was hilarious. There was a few parts that I was almost crying laughing. Not to mention that it originally came out on my birthday! So what's he movie about? Well...

In high school Calvin (Hart) was popular, a jock and being honored at the last assembly before graduation. In the middle of his speech Calvin's interrupted by school bully Trevor (Jason Bateman). Trevor and his group of bully friends has pulled Robbie (Johnson) out of the shower and thrown him naked into the middle of the gym and assembly. Completely embarrassed Robbie runs of with the assistance of Calvin while everyone else just stands and laughs at him. Now years later, it's Calvin and Robbie's high school reunion. The day before the reunion Robbie reaches out to Calvin to catch up.

Much to Calvin's surprise Robbie has dramatically changed in appearance. Calvin starts to feel something else is off about Robbie. Robbie wants to catch up with Calvin and his wife who also went to high school with them. He even invites himself to stay over with Calvin and his wife. When the CIA show up to Calvin's house the next morning looking for Robbie, he's completely thrown into a difficult situation and what results is hilarious.

The second movie... Robocop.

Can you believe I had never seen this 1980s classic until just recently? Last weekend, I finally sat down and watched the original 1987 Robocop. I had been hearing about it for years and I'm a deep lover of 80s movies but somehow this one had just slipped past me and even though I had kept hearing about it for years, I just never sat down and watched it. I thought it was very 80s and entertaining. It was definitely high tech for it's time. It was worth watching so if you haven't seen this 80s classic watch it soon.

Set in a future Detroit, Michigan the city is in a complete dystopian society. Filled with crime and on the verge of complete financial ruin, the city's police department has been given over to a corporation known as OCP. The company will be allowed to turn the run down sections into a utopia which will be known as Delta City. If they can only get there. The crime rate is skyrocketing and the Detroit police are doing everything they can while being underfunded and understaffed. OCP believes they can fix this problem by having a droid police the city. When that doesn't work out they move to having a cyborg known as Robocop.

To get their Robocop OCP uses an officer who was killed in the line of duty. When Robocop is complete, he is taken into the police department and given full range for fighting crime. When he goes out into the city he means business. There's just one problem... when he runs into a gang that was responsible for his death, he starts to remember his life that he once had. Realizing what OCP has done to him and what he has become he goes out and looks for his own vengeance.

Man On Fire.

John Creasy (Denzel Washington) is an ex-CIA and ex-military officer turned mercenary turned bodyguard. If you need protecting then Creasy is your man. His latest job is protecting a nine year old girl Lupita, living in Mexico City with her wealthy parents. When Lupita is abducted and taken from him in a large gun fight, Creasy goes on a rampage killing anyone who gets in his way to find the young girl's abductors.

I had never seen this movie until recently and I was surprised how gruesome it was but in reality, I'm sure people do those things that John Creasy showed us in real life. A young Dakota Fanning as Lupita also had me wondering what she's up to nowadays. I thought this movie was actually really entertaining and I found myself on the edge of my seat. It's definitely worth watching at least once.

The second movie... The Chase.

Before Charlie Sheen went off the rails, he starred in a little known movie called The Chase. The movie at the time was a complete flop but over the years since 1996 has become a comedy for pop culture fans to watch. While the film is suppose to be serious in some scenes you can't help but laugh and it's a mindless movie to watch. It's actually very funny and entertaining to watch. If you haven't seen this classic Charlie Sheen movie, then take the time to watch it because it's worthy of a laugh or two.

Jack Hammond (Sheen) knows his days are numbered before he's set to serve 25 years in prison. He says that he didn't commit the crime but the evidence said otherwise. Fed up with the system, he goes into a gas station for a pack of cigerettes on his way out of town to start his life on the run. When two police officers walk in he panics, takes a hostage and takes her car. Now police are in a high speed chase with Jack and his hostage. He's got one plan- to get to the border of Mexico! Does he make it? Watch and find out!

Two Movies Tonight

Looking for something to watch tonight? Time is precious and you don't want to spend time searching for a movie to only be disappointed with it in the end. So that's why I've brought you two movies for tonight. The movies I review here give you an idea of what's good to watch any time you want to quickly get a movie and start watching it. This week I'm giving you two movies that are totally worthy of your time.

The First movie... Untraceable.
Special Agent Jennifer March (Diane Lane) lives and works in Portland. During the day she's a mom to her daughter but at night she works in the cyber crime division. Dealing with mainly identity theft and similar crimes her world changes when one night she gets an anonymous tip to a website called killwithme.com. A person is out in the world with a live feed to kill on the internet. He projects a life feed on the website and blocks anywhere from knowing where he is. As he increases from killing animals to humans, he kills his victims faster as more people are watching. The FBI urges people not to go to the website but that only fuels traffic to the site. As the murderer continues to stalk his victims, they begin to determine if the victims are chosen at random or for specific reasons.

This is definitely a thriller. At times I was scared watching it because I can't handle movies that scare me to death. It's also very graphic during one of the killings and I had to look away. The story is very realistic though and I thought it was a good movie. Give it a watch if you haven't already.

The Second movie... Apollo 13.

Ah, an oldie but a goodie. Apollo 13 recreates the true story of the Apollo 13 mission, the fateful space ship that was destined to never land on the moon. The three man crew had to figure out how to survive in space and return to Earth after disaster hit their space ship. Captivated by the unfolding story, the world watched for days mesmerized by every detail shared on the news. NASA had everyone working the problem on how to figure out how to get these three men back home. We had never lost anyone in space before and they weren't going to start now.

I love this movie. I'm a big lover of all things Space though! Anyone who loves science or even Tom Hanks would be entertained. If you've never watched this... please do! It's based on the book that was written by Jim Lovell who was the Commander on Apollo 13. Tom Hanks also did a great job with keeping it factual but entertaining.

This week I'm giving you a movie that I wish I would have avoided and another that's worthy of your time.

The first movie... Point Break.
I want to start out by saying I'm bias. I have been and will forever be one of Keanu Reeves biggest fans. I mean come on... Speed?!? Need I say more? So the fact that he doesn't even make a cameo appearance in the remake let me know right away something was up with the film. I saw the preview in theaters and thought it looked a little too over the top. Well this week I finally sat down and watched Point Break.

Point Break follows a similar pretense of the original plot. Guys committing crimes while doing extreme sport activities like jumping out of planes and surfing big waves. That wasn't my issue with the film. My issues were things like the main character literally trying to have the same mannerisms as Keanu portrayed in the original. Another issue... The movie is two hours long and at about the hour and a half mark they realized it's been an hour and a half and rush the rest of the story. They just start killing people off and assuming you know the reason.

In my opinion stick with the original. So what if there wasn't any CGI or special effects in it. It's a classic for a reason. The original gives the idea that we could all be a Johnny. It makes us really believe we could surf those waves, jump out of that plane because it all looks real. It's things that we think we could actually do. The remake is ridiculous when it comes to believing these average guys could pull off some of these amazing stunts and commit crime at the same time. I'm all for a good movie but this was just a horrible remake.

The second movie... 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.
Originally this was never a movie I wanted to watch. This type of movie doesn't appeal to me. It just doesn't jump out at me to watch. So when I sat down to watch this movie, I've heard a lot in the news about Benghazi but honestly, didn't know much besides the fact that Americans were killed and they were left without much help. I try not to get political on here at all because it's just not something I want to share my views about. During this Presidential election, I've heard a lot about how Hilary Clinton is to blame. That's all I went into this movie really knowing about the situation. Whether she was to blame being true or false, I didn't know.

The movie is grueling. In the sense that it's portraying exactly what happened and as close to what really went down according to the men who survived it. It's bloody, it's violent and it's non stop for the majority of the movie. You find yourself rooting for these men. You find yourself hoping that they all survive. You start getting angry at why no one is coming to help them. You start getting nervous that they won't make it out. For me I hadn't followed the news enough to know if any of them got out alive. I was on the edge of my seat waiting and hoping.

I don't want to ruin the movie for anyone who was like me and didn't follow it in the news. If you haven't seen it you really should. It gives you the facts about the situation and gives you a glimpse into what these guys experienced.

Two Movies for Tonight

Looking for something to watch tonight but nothings on? Maybe you've got a weekend alone and need to pass the time? Either way look no further! Here's two movies that are worth your time to sit down and watch.

The first movie... No Escape.

I had originally wanted to see this movie in the theater but hey... life happens and you get busy. Now I've finally watched it and it was good! The only thing I didn't like was the way they had one of the kids behave in the movie. Other than that I thought it was very believable for the situation. Without giving too much away... Jack and Annie Dwyer have just moved to Southeast Asia with their two small children. Their so new to the country they are living in a hotel that caters to tourist and Americans there on business. Jack who has fallen on hard times before is excited about his new start with a new company that is going to help improve the water situation.

Quickly, they find themselves in the middle of a political uprising and it's over Jack's new company and the water. Their hotel becomes under siege and the find themselves trapped. Armed rebels take no prisoners and kill every foreigner they come across. Jack has no choice but to find a way for him and his family to survive.

This movie is fast paced, action packed and has a few surprise guests. Watch it and you'll be surprised how quickly that two hours goes by!

The second movie... Witness.

This movie is a classic. I recently re-watched it for the first time in years and it's still as good as the first time as I saw it. Harrison Ford won his first and only Best Actor award for this movie. Some people think really? For this? Yes, he was that good. You have to remember when you watch this it was made in the 1980s. There's a lot of unspoken acting that goes on with his character and his relationships inside the movie. I think his Oscar was well deserved. So without giving too much away if you haven't seen this classic...

John Book is a Police Detective living and working in Philadelphia. When a young Amish boy named Samuel and his mother Rachel are traveling through the city by train they stop in Philadelphia for their next train. Samuel excuses himself to the bathroom and while hiding in the stall witnesses the killing of a cop. John Book (Ford) becomes the lead on the case and forces Rachel and Samuel to stay in town until he can ID the killer. When Sam IDs the killer John knows that Samuel is now in danger and tries to put them into hiding. It goes horribly wrong and John is now in danger as well. His only choice is to hide himself in Amish country and the three of them head off into the country.

This movie is enlightening if you no nothing of the Amish way of life. Watch this movie and see if you think Harrison deserved the Oscar.

Two Movies For Tonight

Looking for a good movie to watch tonight? Don't have any plans for the weekend and need something worthy of watching? Well look no further, I've got two movies that are worthy of your time and watching. Even if you don't have time tonight these movies are worth watching when you have that extra time.

The first movie... Terminator Genisys.

This movie is the latest installment in the Terminator Series. First of all, I should come clean and say that I love me some Arnold. I loved the original two Terminator movies and then I felt like the other ones were a little bit ridiculous. So when I sat down to watch this latest movie, I was a little weary on if it would be any good. The fact that Arnold was back intrigued me and I was hoping it would be good. Well... it was! This movie was original, had good actors and really had it's own Terminator story line. It didn't feel like same old, tired story of John Connor leading the resistance. Sit down and give it a watch. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Favorite Quote from the movie- "I've been trying to teach him to blend in."- Sarah Connor.

The second movie... The American President.

The American President is an oldie but a goodie. I hadn't watched it for awhile and this past week sat down and watched it. I always forget how good this movie actually is. It has a perfect cast of Martin Sheen, Michael J. Fox, Michael Douglas and Annette Benning. The movie has the perfect blend of politics, realistic White House life and romance. It also has the perfect political villain- Richard Dreyfuss (who btw I wonder what he's up to nowadays). The movie of course is filmed in Washington D.C. and shows of the monuments and the beauty of them. This movie is charming and it'll give you an hour and a half of smiling and warming your heart. Trust me, just watch it.

Favorite Quote- "I went to Stanford you blow hole!"- President Shepard.

Two Movies For Tonight

Looking for a good movie to watch tonight? Maybe you'll have some extra time at home this weekend to watch some movies. Well search no further here's two movies that are worth your time and will entertain you.

The first movie... Independence Day.

I love this movie. This past weekend we went to the theater very excited to see the new Independence Day Resurgence. It was awful. Those words don't even convey how awful the reboot is. It is so awful I wanted to get up and walk out at 20 minutes into the movie. I've only done that once it my life so that should tell you how awful it really is. Don't waste your time, don't waste your money... don't go. Trust me. If you loved the first one they absolutely butcher the new one.

Independence Day stars Bill Pullman as President Whitmore. When these strange alien space ships enter out atmosphere we learn that we are not alone in the universe. President Whitmore decides to show them that we want peace and sends a helicopter to greet one of their ships. We are immediately met with unfriendly fire. At the same time, David (Jeff Goldblum) realizes that the disruption in the world's satellites isn't just a coincidence it's hiding a countdown. David and his father make their way from New York to DC to warn the President that the world is in grave danger. Captain Hiller (Will Smith) planned his weekend out very differently. He was going to stay in Los Angeles with his girlfriend and BBQ. Now he gets called back to base to defend the country. What happens? Watch and find out.

Favorite Quote- "You don't actually think they spend $20,000 on a hammer, $30,000 on a toilet seat, do you? - Julius.

The second movie... National Treasure.

National Treasure is one of those movies that anytime I see it's on television I stop and end up watching it. I think it's clever and includes real history. It always makes me want to visit Philadelphia. I've only ever seen the airport.

National Treasure follows Ben (Nicholas Cage), an American historian and the youngest in a long family line of treasure hunters. When he was a boy his grandfather told him the story of a huge treasure being hidden the Founding Fathers and the free masons. Thirty years later Ben is still searching for that treasure as a grown up. Along with him is his sidekick and computer wiz Riley. When they learn that their next possible clue to the treasure could be hidden on the back of the Declaration for Independence, Ben and Riley begin coming up with a plan to see the back of it. One problem... he isn't the only person trying to get his hands on it.

Ian is his competition and he has less than pure intentions on how to get it and his intentions on the treasure vary far differently. So off Ben and Riley go to the National Archives to meet Abigail and tell her their story. She believes their crazy and wants no part in their plan. Ben realizes he's going to have to steal the declaration to continue. Once that happens no one can plan for what happens next. Watch and find out what happens.

Favorite Quote- "Why can't they just say, 'go to this place, here's the treasure spend it wisely."- Riley.

Two Movies for Tonight

Looking for something to watch tonight? Maybe you have a long weekend? Well have no fear! Here's two movies that are worthy of your time. These two movies are very different but equally good to watch. Sit back, relax and watch these two movies.

The first movie... Get Hard.
Hedge Fund Manager James King (Ferrell) is in the prime of his career and personal life. He's engaged Alyssa to be married and living the multi-million dollar lifestyle. When Alyssa throws them an engagement party with his soon to be father in law/boss in attendance it all takes a turn for the worse. The FBI comes in and arrest James for fraud and embezzlement. James swears up and down that he's innocent and is sure justice will find the truth. A trial takes place and he's found guilty even though he continues to preach his innocence. Now facing a serious prison term and his fiancé dumping him James must get ready for the prison life.

That's when Darrell (Kevin Hart) comes into his life. Darrell just wants enough money to send his daughter to a better school outside of their neighborhood. So when James asks him if he can teach him how to get ready for prison life for cash then he agrees. There's only one small problem. Darrell has never been to prison. Darrell and James embark on a journey how to get James ready for prison and Darrell is just trying to get the money. When he realizes that James really might be telling the truth about his innocence he decides to really find out what's happened. Is James really guilty? Will Darrell's secret come out? Watch and find out!

You never know what you might get with a Will Ferrell movie. I randomly caught this movie on HBO and was pleasantly surprised how funny it was in parts. It's definitely worth watching for a laugh.

The second movie... Triple 9.

In the deep south of Atlanta, Georgia Michael (Chiwetel Ejoifor) and two of his criminal friends along with two corrupt cops rob a bank to retrieve a safety deposit box. When their almost caught the men agree to meet up a few days later. The box was retrieved for a Russian Mob Boss' wife who is hoping to get her husband out of prison. When Michael takes in the box to claim his group's reward money he's told by Irina (Kate Winslet) that the job isn't finished. They must complete a second job to earn their money.

Michael knows the second job is even harder than the first. He assembles the men and the two corrupt comes and explains the situation to them. They realize why he has to do the job and they go along with the second job and work on a plan to complete it. The two corrupt cops Marcus and Franco come up with a Triple 9 situation. A triple 9 is when an officer has been shot and killed in the line of duty. They believe that will draw all of the attention of the police force away from their second job which is highly risky. Now that they have their idea they need to figure out who they can sacrifice. It doesn't take long for Marcus to give up his new partner Chris (Casey Affleck). Marcus attempts to befriend him and let him believe he's really on his side and that they are the same kind of cop.

On the day of the second job will their plan and 999 work? Watch and find out.

While I wouldn't watch this movie again, I thought it was really good. It's just not the kind of movie I would sit around and watch over and over. It's very good and worth watching at least once.
