Top 5 Outfits of October

1. Buffalo Plaid.

This scarf came in my October Stitch Fix box. The grey shirt was in one of my previous boxes as were the grey jeans. Buffalo plaid is really popular right now as are scarves because we've entered the holidays.

2. Blanket Scarf.
This blanket scarf is from Macys. It's by Steve Madden and I love it. It's just a mixture of silver, black, white and red. The shirt is black and white stripes from Red Dress Boutique. My flats are Cupid and have a plaid design.

3.Blurred Lines.
This sweater is open on the sides and from H&M. The leggings have a crinkled design in them and come from H&M as well. The boots are from Red Dress Boutique. They lace up the back and sadly you can't see it from this angle.

4. Tan & Burgundy.
The sweater is from a Stitch Fix box and is the brand En Crème. I got it last winter and it became one of my favorite sweaters. The pants are from Forever 21 and the booties are Indigo Rd.

5. Peach Shirt Dress.
This peach dress from Forever 21 can be worn without leggings but it was a cold day so I wore it over leggings and boots. These boots are a dark brown.

Top September Outfits

In September I came up with some outfits that had to contend with the never ending heat. While some areas are already experiencing cooler temps, northern California was still in a heat wave. We had a few random days that weren't in the 80s so I broke out my long sleeves. My house is always freezing so I'm comfortable all day in my long sleeves and only sweating on my way home in the evenings. While I don't always post my outfits here, I do on instagram. Come follow along to see them as I post.

These were my top 5 Outfits posted in September on Instagram.

1. Mustard Pants.
I got these pants and shirt for that matter from Forever 21 and I love the fall colors.

2. Dress Shirt and Pencil Skirt.
The shirt is from New York & Company. The skirt is from H&M.

3. Black & Grey.
The pants are Just Black from Stitch Fix and my sweater is from Macys.

4. Burgundy Pants.
My grey top is from Stitch Fix and my pants are from Forever 21. This shirt is so soft!

5. Going Green.
The top is from H&M and the pants are again from Forever 21

I'm crossing my fingers that October brings the rain and cooler temperatures!

October Stitch Fix

My October Stitch Fix box is here! This is my 19th fix! I can't believe I've received 19 of these in the mail! This month around I asked my stylist to send me a few specific items. I wanted to see a jean jacket. I asked for something plaid. I asked for dark jeans preferably grey or black. I also asked for a pair of shoes and that I would really like some loafers. When I saw my fix, I knew they had listened. I've now learned to be very specific in my stylist notes! Before I show you my fix here's a little information on how it works....

Start by filling out your style profile. You will complete questions on sizing, pricing, preferences, colors, etc. You can also write notes about likes and dislikes. Make sure to link your fashion board on Pinterest so your stylist can see what you like. This really helps! The notes to your stylist can really help determine what you get in your box. Take the time to write your stylist a note! I feel that's one of the most important things to getting the items you really want to see in your fixes.

Next, order your first fix! You will be charged a $20.00 styling fee however, if you keep any item [one or more] you will be credited back the $20.00 towards that purchase. I always recommend keeping at least one item or you are essentially giving away $20.00 and getting nothing in return. You will receive 5 items (made up of clothing, jewelry, and handbags). I personally never want jewelry in my fix so I just always let my stylist know! If you refer a friend you get credit so your styling fee could potentially be free.

When your box arrives decide what you want to keep and what you want to send back (in the pre-paid postage envelope)! You have 3 business days  from receiving your fix to decide so use this time to try everything on and see what works best for you. Go out of your comfort zone! This is what makes Stitch Fix fun! It's like being a celebrity and getting clothing sent to you! I've chosen to receive monthly fixes but remember it is in no way a subscription service and you are able to decide when you want another fix, whether that be in 6 months or 2 years from your first fix! As always, if you have any questions feel free to leave them in the comments section below. To save some cash on future fixes they offer an awesome referral package, if you use my referral link I'll get to bypass the styling fee at least once!

Let's get started! Remember - If you see anything that you like below, feel free to pin it and/or ask your stylist in the notes section of your next fix for something similar!

1. Octavia. Tina Checkered Infinity Scarf.
While I love this scarf I think the price is a bit much. It's priced at $35.00 and for that price, I could buy 2 or 3 scarves from a different store.

2. Loveappella. Bailey Color Block Knit Top.

This top is very soft! I just don't know how often I would wear it.

3. Just Black. James Skinny Jean. Size 28

These jeans feel like butter on my skin! I may have already ripped the tags off them to keep!

4. Liverpool. Bradford Moto Denim Jacket. Medium.

This jacket is a black denim. I have so many black jackets similar to this one that I think it's going back.

5. BC Footwear. Flash Tassel Loafer. Size 6.

I wear a size six but these shoes were just a little too big on my feet and would slip off as I walked so their a return for me.

What would you keep and what would you send back?

Fall in San Francisco

Sacramento is still in full summer weather mode. After having multiple weeks in a row where the weather is in the high 90s, I'll be happy to finally see a dip in the temperature. When we escaped to San Francisco, I took note the night before that the high of the day was going to be 68 degrees. Ahhh.... finally some relief.

I had been waiting to wear my fall clothing so much that when I saw the temperatures were dropping in the bay, I got out my sweater and ankle boots and hit the city. The wind is always making me feel chilled when I'm there so I went fully prepared this time. While I still don't miss the snow from my east coast winters, I am fully happy to embrace the fall when it comes to California.

One thing I love about SF, there are so many colorful walls and murals. This one can be found outside of City Light Books. If you walk around the city, the homes and walls give you so many pops of color.
Sweater- H&M, Leggings- Forever 21, Top- Stitch Fix, Boots- Indigo, Bag- Brahmin.

September Stitch Fix

Another month, another box! My September Stitch Fix box is here! This is my 18th fix! I can't believe I've received 18 of these in the mail! This month around I asked my stylist to send me a few specific items. I wanted to see a jean jacket, some dark jeans, fall clothing and some ankle booties or black flats. I've now learned to be very specific in my stylist notes! Before I show you my fix here's a little information on how it works....

Let's get started! Remember - If you see anything that you like below, feel free to pin it and/or ask your stylist in the notes section of your next fix for something similar!

1. Dee Elle. Syrah Open Drape Cardigan. Size Small.

I love the dark color and the fabric is so soft. It feels like one of those channel blankets.

2. Éclair Pip Crew Neck Blouse. Size Small.

This top is almost identical to the one that came in last month's box. This top has a lot of detail from the pattern to the lace. I don't like the fact that it's see thru though... I had to wear a camisole underneath of it and sometimes I get frustrated with that during the day.

3. Leo & Nicole. Ardie Cable Front Pullover. Size Small.

I love this sweater. It's soft, warm and the perfect color blend.

4. Pistola. Isobel Skinny Jean. Size

I love these jeans. They are so soft they almost feel like a jegging but their not. The dark wash is also a shade that I don't have in my current wardrobe.

5. Nine West. Anastagia Flats. Black. Size 6.
There's a reason why I don't have them on. I'm a size 6 in shoes but this 6 wasn't fitting. They were too big and the straps were too large for my feet. I also felt like they were something I would see on a 6 year old in church. No thank you. These are a return for me.
So there's my September Stitch Fix. What would you keep and what would you return?

Top August Outfits

In August I came up with some outfits to beat the summer heat. At the same time I didn't want to be freezing in my office. I go from one extreme to the other. It's freezing in my office literally they had the thermostat at 55 degrees last week and then outside it's an oven at 90 degrees. Plus I'm ready for fall, I feel my winter wardrobe runs circles around my summer items. While I don't always post my outfits here, I do on instagram.

These were my top 5 Outfits posted in August on Instagram.

1. Printed top and jeans.
This top was actually in my August stitch fix box and the jeans are from American Eagle.

2. Blush Dress.
This dress is from H&M and under $20.00. It comes in a variety of colors. Best feature... it has pockets! I love a dress or skirt with pockets. My sweater is from Forever 21 but is last season. They do have a similar one this season.

3. Stripes.
This top is from my latest Stitch Fix box. It's lightweight but the sleeves keep you warm.

4. Going Beige.

This dress came from Forever 21. It has an exposed zipper on the back. It feels like a sweater dress but it's thinner and not as clingy.

5. Geo Pants.

This entire outfit was in my last stitch fix box. I love these pants. They feel like butter on my skin. I've actually worn them 2 or 3 times in the month that I've owned them.

Transitioning into fall and winter clothing is here! What outfits are you pulling out of your closet now that we are in September? Also... is anyone else's office freezing like mine?

Stitch Fix Outtakes

Every month when my Stitch Fix box arrives, I get so excited to share what's arrived on my doorstop. Sometimes in the process of taking photos to share with you there's a few that don't make the cut. Usually, my husband snaps the photo too early, or my hair is right in my eyes or our cat Tesco instantly feels the need for attention. I get tickled when I scroll through the photos and thought I'd share some with all of you. So without further ado these are a few of my Stitch Fix photo outtakes....

Fixing my hair and of course the walk off...

Then there's the adjusting....

Don't know what Stitch Fix is? Well let me tell you a little bit about it. Start by filling out your style profile. August Stitch Fix

Another month, another box! My August Stitch Fix box is here! This is my 17th fix! I can't believe I've received 17 of these in the mail! This month around I asked my stylist to send me a few specific items. I wanted to see a jean jacket, some printed palazzo pants, a kimono and some ankle booties.  I've now learned to be very specific in my stylist notes! My stylist let me know on the note that only one of my requested items would be in the box. Stitch Fix is constantly shuffling their items and they just didn't have the other items available right now.

1. Fun2Fun. Molina Split Neck Top. Small.

I didn't like this top at all when I first took it out of the box but once I put it on, I really liked it. The sleeve's are 3/4 length and the design has a very vintage boho feel.
2. Market & Spruce. Careen V-Neck Dolman Knit Top. Small.

This top is so soft. It's a little big but I like that. If I put on any winter weight it won't show! I also like the color and design.

3. Pixley. Lagio Mixed Material Top. Small.

This top is definitely something not in my comfort zone. The lace detail I really like but I would never pick this pattern up in the store and think, "oh that would look great on me!" I love that the back is all black and when you turn to the front you get the design. I don't know if this is a keeper or not? I'm not too keen on the cap sleeves their shorter than a normal short sleeve.
4. Brixon Ivy. Barrington Tie Neck Blouse. Small.

I really like this shirt but I don't like how open the neck is. It's a little big in the chest but the arms were just right. The tie neck is a nice feature on this shirt. I have a shirt very similar so I don't know if I will keep this. It's also very white and I'm afraid I would stain it or get makeup on it and not be able to remove it.
5. Gilli. Chandler Printed Wide Leg Pant. Medium.

I love love love these pants! They literally feel like butter on your skin. As soon as I saw them in my box, I was like SOLD! The pattern it dynamic but I think I can always wear these in the winter so I can transition them from summer to fall. It also has a vintage vibe and I love it.
So what would you keep? What would you send back?
