Five on Friday
1. Easter is here this weekend! It came fast this year. I'm very excited to see what the Easter bunny has in store.
2. Beezy's best friend's wife had her baby this week. Beezy loves babies and he can't wait to be a dad one day (far away). We went and visited them in the hospital a few hours after he was born. Meet Lennox...
3. Meal planning. All week long we have done meal planning. I'm not talking about just writing on a calendar what you're going to eat each night for dinner. Beezy made all of my lunches and dinner for the week on Monday and that's exactly what I ate. That also meant that we had to go to the grocery store and stock up on the exact things that a trainer has said to eat. We of course had to get meat...
4. Real mail. I love getting real letters in the mail. My Maid of Honor who happens to be one of my best friends sent us a really nice card in the mail. It made me smile. It's always nice to know people care about you as much as you care about them. I'll have to say even though she lives on the other side of the country she's been there for me this whole time!
5. Since I'm trying to get fit and look great for the wedding, I've cut out all kinds of fabulous foods but I know it will be worth it. I saw this meme the other day and totally laughed.

Christmas Cards 2013
I love sending and receiving real mail. There's nothing better than going to your mailbox and finding real letters, cards and packages. No one jumps for glee when they receive a bill. Naturally I send out Christmas cards every year. However this year I did something a little different and had three different designs. I couldn't decide on just one.
The first design was this one...
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is one of my favorite Christmas movies. When I saw this card, I knew I had to get them and send them out. I only wish the inside could have been the speech that Clark gives ones he receives his "bonus". Who wouldn't want that delightful message?!
The second card...
My second card was Elf! I love this Christmas movie and think it's cute. It has so many quotable moments. The outside of the card said, Smiling's My Favorite. The inside of the card said, Because I see you! Merry Christmas! Now if it would have only asked you, "What's your favorite color?"
My third card was a personalized one...
This was the first year that I had done a personalized one. I always see year after year my friends send out their family cards so I decided to do my own! The back featured a personalized message. I mainly sent these to family and a few closer friends. I got these from Shutterfly and I thought they did a great job with the printing. They also came really quickly once I ordered them.

Weekend Update
This weekend I finished my doorway decorations...

A lot of people have been asking me what I used. For the top piece I used photo hanger wire. It was much more flexible than using a metal coat hanger. I also used shatterproof bulbs because they weigh less.
I made blondes from scratch...

12 Dates of Christmas

I found out my friends started getting their Christmas cards...
I caught up on my celebrity news and sat by the Christmas tree...

Mail Call!
I love getting mail!
Not the bills but real, snail mail. Nothing brightens my day more than to get a letter or a card from someone in the mail. If you remember this post , then you know that this year I have sent out cards to family and friends/bloggers all year long. It originally started with Christmas cards then it continued on with Valentines Day, Saint Patrick's Day and Easter. After Easter I didn't know if they'd continue until later in the year but I decided to get a little creative and send out a Memorial Day/Summer card wishing everyone a great summer.
Then I moved across the country in August and sent out a Just Moved card.
Now that Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas is upon us, the cards will be going out again. There's just one little thing... a lot of the people that I've sent cards to over the year have sent me texts, emails, a card or something to let me know that their enjoying them. I appreciate that, it lets me know that they got it and that I'm not wasting my time and money on something that I'm hoping gives them a smile in their day. Soooo....
If you have received a card from me this year and would like to continue getting them can you let me know? Also if you haven't received any this year and want to then let me know and I'll add you to my mailing list of happy mail goodness! Leave a comment or shoot me an email and I'll get your address and add you to the list! During the move, I misplaced a few addresses so if you happen to hear from me asking for your address, then you know why! It really is fun to get snail mail!
I'm single handedly keeping the United States Post Office in business.

The Year of the Cards
Without even knowing it, an idea turned into a goal. Every year I send out Christmas cards. This past year was no different. I always like making out cards and I think getting real mail is always something fun! I mean really, who likes getting bills in the mail? No one.
So when Valentine's Day rolled around, I decided to keep the cards going. I pulled out my list of addresses that I used at Christmas time and sent out a stack of Valentines to everyone. I even hand made the cards.
Then St. Patrick's Day popped up and I saw some really cute cards in a store and decided to buy them to send out. I got out my trusty list and addressed them and sent them off on their way. At this point, I figured either my recipients were either getting really annoyed with all the mail I was sending them or it was putting a smile on their faces. I got a few messages from friends telling me that they really liked them so I decided to continue with the card tradition...

That's when Easter came up on the calendar. Thanks to Hobby Lobby I found just enough sets of cards to be able to send out Happy Easter notes. Once Easter was over, I started looking at the calendar and realized that there really isn't anything until Memorial Day and can you even send a card for that?

So if you are of the people that receives cards from me, have no fear... I'm sure you'll see another one in your mailbox soon! Not getting cards from me and want one? Shoot me your name and address and consider yourself on the list! I mean really, who doesn't get excited about real mail that isn't a bill?!

The Art of Letter Writing

Let's face it, writing a letter has become a dying art. In today's technology we've progressed past the point of taking pen to paper. We have texting, e-mails and instant messaging, even when it comes to paying our bills we can pay them without ever having to look for a pen.
In my opinion this is sad.
I love getting mail and I love getting e-mails...don't get me wrong. But I just think it means so much more when someone sits down and takes a pen to paper. Maybe it's because it makes me think of another world. It makes me feel like I'm apart of history (think Pride & Prejudice). I just love the idea of it. I love that someone has to take time out of their day to sit and think about what they want to say. There's no backspace, there's no spell check. It's just you, the paper and the pen. It's such an amazing way to communicate feelings.
I've always said it and I'll say it again, someone could never buy me a gift ever if they just gave me a heartfelt letter in it's place.
So I leave you with this:

Dear Post Office
Dear United States Postal Service,
I have a love/hate relationship with you. If you haven't heard my sweetie is currently playing in the sandbox, thousands of miles from me. When he is able to get ahold of me and conveys to me that he needs basic necessities then guess what? He really needs them! Tough soldiers don't e-mail their girlfriends, fiances, wives and buddies asking them to send over toilet paper just so they can go TP some Iraqi's hut. He needs it for his personal duties. Also when I take the time to fill out the customs form and pay extra for insurance that means you tape, stick and apply these forms to the box. I'm not getting carpel tunnel for no reason. I write these things out so the box will actually get to him.
Now I know you've delivered through everything (or at least claim to) including rain storms, earthquakes, famines, flooding and hello war! So my question is..why are you letting a little sandstorm/dust storm ruin your track record? You think you'd want to uphold this prestigious record during these current times as you raise your prices almost monthly now! With this being said, I would like to say shame on you! I am sorely disappointed in your duties. Come to think of it, your appearance as well! Where is the safari hat for the summer?
Next time (because there will be a next time), please remember to NOT leave my sweetie's boxes sitting out in the 110 degree heat, without a customs form attached, being unclaimed and unused. Finally getting it to him 3 weeks after it being "sent" with even the nutrition bars being half melted. Please and Thank you!

Today is my Friday! Woohooo it's my weekend! Today I got to meet up with a good friend of mine. I got to see her 2 1/2 month old baby boy and he's adorable! It did however made me realize that I'm getting older and that we're actually really adults now! Scary...
I got a good/sad surprise today. When I went to retrieve my mail today I found a large envelope staring back at me. I instantly thought, "Hmm...what could this be?" I tore open the package to find the photo I had been waiting on. Ahhhhhhhhh yay!
I hope you're all having a great Monday...Let's hope it wasn't a manic one...
