A Heavy Heart

I've struggled for the last few days on whether or not to talk about this. It's pretty personal and lately I've been trying to keep things closer to home than sharing. I still have my blog stalker (Hi!) and I hate that. It makes me feel like I can't talk about things that I would normally do so.
Anyways, some of you have already been privy to this information. If you're one of those then I'm sorry, bare with me while I tell everyone else my dilemma.

If you haven't noticed my little countdown clock on the right side, I'm scheduled to be going out of town this Saturday. I've been looking forward to this for awhile. Early last week things changed. Situations changed and I was left without answers, confused and didn't know if I would be making the trip. Days went by and I had no idea if I was still going or not. I got word on Sunday that made me feel nauseous. Yet, I was still being asked to make this trip. Honestly, I want to take the trip for reasons I can't go into detail over yet.

I'd like to state that No one knows the future. Definitely not me. If you happen to know, get ahold of me because we need to talk.

Now in the course of this time frame I had made alternate plans. Because when you think you're not going on the trip you had planned, you plan something else. I have the days off work, why not? So I did just that. My BFF Erin lives in Cincinnati and was welcoming me with open arms to come stay with her this weekend. Then I got word from someone else that they would also be in the 'Nati (Cincinnati for all you non familiars of the great city) and that makes me really excited.

This is where the dilemma comes in. I can't be in two places at one time. I genuinely don't know where to go. Each place has it's pro's & con's... If I go to Texas I risk my heavy heart getting completely ripped out. I also risk not even being picked up at the airport and stuck in Austin for 5 days. I risk falling into a klassy moment where I smack skeezy girls in the face. However, I could gain a lot from going. I would have no regrets and the situation could do a 180.

If I go to Cinci though I'll get to see my BFF and my the person that would be really great to see. If I don't go, I have no idea when I'll get the time to go see Erin and there's an even likelier chance that I'd get to see the other person seeing as how they are only in town for those same days. Plus, will I regret not being in Texas the whole time I'm in Cinci. Would I also wonder what might have happened?

I just don't know what to do. I'm completely torn and honestly am lost on the choice. You never know though, at this point I may get a call any minute saying, "Hey don't come" I guess I'm playing it by ear but I only have 2 days to figure it out. Any advice?

Two Kinds of Class

In my world I classify people into two different types of categories based on their behavior, dress and overall manner. These categories being Classy and Klassy.

What's the difference you ask? Let me explain.
Classy: Adjective [classier, classiest]: Stylish and sophisticated. Elegant. Select.
Klassy: Adjective [Klass-less]: Skank and skeezer. Unsophisticated. Dirty. Sluty.

If you ever see any of the follow or become involved in these situations then you know you've fallen from Classy to Klassy:
Getting a tattoo that says "F*ck Love" on your lower stomach = Klassy
Picking your nose in public = Klassy
Sleeping with every dude that takes you out on a date = Klassy

Am I right or am I wrong?

Mish Mosh

Try not to judge me too hard ok? But I really want this for Christmas...
I know, I know. The commercial and the infomercial guy is extremely annoying but that doesn't make the product any less cooler. Have you seen him slap chop the potatoes?? Have you seen the graty swirl cut TWO different types of cheeses at the SAME time!?!
I hate to admit it but I really want these. I might have to put these on my list of things Santa can bring me. Right now I'm still thinking what I want wish list item to be...

Remember this post, a few days ago? I think I came across my favorite entry:
(510): he said he didn't have a condom.
(415): and you said?
(510): that that's fine cause i was ready to be a mom. yeah - he magically had a condom he forgot about after that.

Also did anyone else watch that new show Flash Forward?
It was GREAT. I'm addicted now. Plus hello...who didn't watch Grey's Anatomy. Love it. So glad the fall is here!

Theater Thursday

Don't you love it?!? It's Theater Thursday! A Christmas edition! This week we're taking a look at The Holiday
The Holiday has a star studded cast including one of my personal favorites, Kate Winslet. Cameron Diaz, Jude Law and the ever so funny Jack Black.

The Holiday takes place in London, England and Los Angeles, California. Two women, Diaz and Winslet decide to switch houses on a web site for the 2 weeks of the holiday season. Both have been having extremely bad luck in the men department and are hoping to escape to a stress free zone, enjoying vacation.

Black and Law have other ideas. But it's totally not what you think....I promise.

This movie is extremely cute, I love to watch this movie every holiday season. The snow, the love's just great.

STILL Mad About It

Mad Men is amazing. If you missed my earlier post, you can check it out here. I just finished watching Season 1 and it was great. Now I'm gonna have to go out and buy season 2 so I'll be able to watch season 3 on AMC.
Can I just say that my favorite character so far on the show is:
My least favorite character and the person I wanted to punch on an every episode basis:

If you haven't watched this show you really must give it a try. The fashion, the hair styles, the retro furniture and everything is amazing. Plus the plot lines really are unpredictable.

The Art of Letter Writing

Let's face it, writing a letter has become a dying art. In today's technology we've progressed past the point of taking pen to paper. We have texting, e-mails and instant messaging, even when it comes to paying our bills we can pay them without ever having to look for a pen.
In my opinion this is sad.

I love getting mail and I love getting e-mails...don't get me wrong. But I just think it means so much more when someone sits down and takes a pen to paper. Maybe it's because it makes me think of another world. It makes me feel like I'm apart of history (think Pride & Prejudice). I just love the idea of it. I love that someone has to take time out of their day to sit and think about what they want to say. There's no backspace, there's no spell check. It's just you, the paper and the pen. It's such an amazing way to communicate feelings.

I've always said it and I'll say it again, someone could never buy me a gift ever if they just gave me a heartfelt letter in it's place.

So I leave you with this:
Henry IV to Gabrielle d'Estrees From the battle field before Dreux
June 16, 1593

I have waited patiently for one whole day without news of you; I have been counting the time and that's what it must be. But a second day--I can see no reason for it, unless my servants have grown lazy or been captured by the enemy, for I dare not put the blame on you, my beautiful angel: I am too confident of your affection--which is certainly due to me, for my love was never greater, nor my desire more urgent; that is why I repeat this refrain in all my letters: come, come, come, my dear love.

Honor with your presence the man who, if only he were free, would go a thousand miles to throw himself at your feet and never move from there. As for what is happening here, we have drained the water from the moat, but our cannons are not going to be in place until Friday when, God willing, I will dine in town.

The day after you reach Mantes, my sister will arrive at Anet, where I will have the pleasure of seeing you every day. I am sending you a bouquet of orange blossom that I have just received. I kiss the hands of the Vicomtess if she is there, and of my good friend, and as for you, my dear love, I kiss your feet a million times.

The First Step

The first step to admitting you having a problem is to ADMIT that there is indeed a problem and that you want to get help.
With that being said, "I am addicted to Christmas decorations." Ok, fine... "I'm addicted to buying every cute decoration, roll wrapping paper, wreaths, cards, etc." Ok. Ok? Ok!
On my recent trip to Tennessee, I told you all that I bought a few hundred dollars in ornaments. think that would be enough for the holiday season right? Wrong! Last week I drove about 30 minutes to the closest Hobby Lobby. I told myself in the car that I was just going to look around and see what other things they had.. besides I was just really going there to get a mat for a frame. Hahahahaha. Yeah, I bought 30 bucks in ornaments in addition to the photo mat.

So...this brings me to today. Hobby Lobby opened up a store only 15 minutes from my house. Oh how I love you Hobby Lobby. You have everything. I can walk in the store and buy anything from a calendar to birthday supplies to fabric. They tempted me with the 40% off coupon. I think I did well though...I only spent 20 dollars.
Does anyone else love Hobby Lobby just as much as me? Or Christmas?

Is true romance still alive?
I recently had a friend pose this question to myself and all of our friends. We started thinking about it and discussing it and what I heard was alarming.

Now currently, I'm pretty biased because I'm surfing around on cloud 9. However, I feel that true romance is alive. I believe know that there are guys out there who still believe in it as well. There's guys and girls out there alike who still believe in "courting", that open up doors for each other, never go dutch, send flowers and call when they say their going to.

What do you think? Do you think that people have given up the romance and go straight for the convenience? I think there's a lot of settling going on. Women have become so hung up on being married by a certain age that they've given up on the idea of being courted.

Out on a limb

I'm just gonna say it. Are you ready for this? Earlier this week I came across one of the greatest websites ever. EVER! Get a pen. Are you ready? Write this down.

Seriously. I laughed so hard while reading some of them. The texts are categorized into good nights, bad nights and random. Seriously. great.

You must check it out!

Guess what today is?!?

Today is National Cheeseburger Day.
I don't know about you, but I love a good cheeseburger. There's all kinds of different variations. You can get them everywhere too! There's Krystal, White Castle, Wendy's, McDonalds, Burger King, Jack In the Box etc.
So where do you like to get your cheeseburgers from? What do you like to get on yours? I always love adding bacon. Yum! Go out today and celebrate. Get yourself a burger!

Eat up. Just don't get too crazy!

And the award goes to...

Yesterday I was bestowed with an Award. It made me smile and since smiling is my favorite I want to send a big thank you out to Jacqueline over at Love You Mean It. If you haven't checked out her blog you should. She's great! Now...for the Award. It was the Kreativ Blogger Award!
On to the rules:
1. Thank the person who nominated you for this award.
2. Copy the logo and place it on your blog.
3. Link to the person who nominated you for this award.
4. Name 7 things about yourself that people might not know.
5. Nominate 7
Kreativ Bloggers.
6. Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.
7. Leave a comment on each of the blogs letting them know they have been nominated.
Without further is my 7 things you may not know about me.
1. I'm all about being mobile. My phone constantly has me on yahoo instant messenger. I'm always checking my facebook, twitter and myspace (however I am deleting myspace very soon because I feel it's become skeezy). Thank goodness for technology!
2. I don't wash my hair every day. Don't get me wrong...I shower every single day but I just don't wash my hair on a daily basis. It's long and if I do that it would constantly look as if I've been chewing on an electrical cord.
3. I have recently become addicted to watching NCIS. I haven't blogged about this yet but I love it! It's like crack tv. Everytime USA has it on, I've got my television tuned in.
4. I hardly ever chew gum but if I do it's the whitening gum. Why not kill 2 birds with 1 stone?!
5. I cannot stand Woody Allen. I don't know what it is about him but anytime I see his pictures or he's on tv, I get this uncontrollable urge to punch him in the face.
6. I think Keanu Reeves (think his Speed movie era) is the sexiest man. I mean really.
7. When I was in middle school and we had to change for gym. I would always wait till there was no one around to change my shirt. Hello....I don't show the ta ta's to just everyone.
Now...for the nominees! First of all I want to say that I love you all equally. If you didn't get nominated right now, don't cry. Trust me one day I will give you an award. Because honestly I wouldn't follow you're blog if I didn't like you.

Theater Thursday

This week's Theater Thursday, Christmas theme film is A Very Brady Christmas
Yes, that's right. The Brady Family made a Christmas movie! All of the original cast is back (except for Cindy)! Made in 1988, Carol and Mike Brady try to decide where to take a vacation for the holiday season. After a mishap with money and with the wish of an old fashioned Christmas the Brady's decide to fly all of their kids and families into town.

Unbeknownst to everyone except Alice, all of the kids are having some kind of trouble or issue in their life. However, they individually decide to put on a brave face and come home to celebrate Christmas with their family, keeping their problems to themselves.....maybe.

Sadly there is no Marcia, Marcia incident but there is a serious moment in the Brady household that could ruin Christmas and threaten the well being of one family member.
You can't miss this movie! It's a true Brady Classic and a Christmas pleaser!

Mad About It

This morning I bought....
Mad Men Season 1

Can I just say how much I'm already addicted to it!?! I've only watched the first 3 episodes and it's amazing! Where has this show been all my life? Wow, I missed the boat on this one in the beginning.

Oh if you're reading my blog then I'm guessing you know I went private yesterday evening. I don't know how long it will remain that way but it will for the next few months. Don't forget about me over here!

This says it all for today...

Long distance between someone you care about sucks. I once heard a quote once that I always think of when the distance gets to me.
"I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."- When Harry Met Sally

Ohhhh buddy!

See the fan? Well oh boy, has it hit the fan!
Why is it when you're really happy, people like to come out of the wood work and rain on your parade? I'm sorry that I'm pooping rainbows and coughing up butterflies and hanging out with unicorns. BUT that doesn't mean you can come along and try to rain on it.

This message goes out to a certain someone who will go un-named: Dear childish person who stalks me through my blog. I'm sorry that I don't share any of my life with you. I'm sorry that I'm in a really great place in my life and that you're only fooling yourself into thinking that you're awesome. One day you'll realize what a huge dick weed you were to everyone.

Besides that I'm doing FABULOUS! I got FRONT ROW SEATS to the Gary Allan concert come November!

The Stars At Night...

are big and bright, deep in the heart of TEXAS!!

It's official people! I have booked my ticket to TEXAS! I will be there in 22 days! Yay! I don't know why but ever since I booked the ticket I have sung the Texas song NON stop. I also find myself wanting to say the word Texas just like how William Shatner does in Miss Congeniality.

I feel like these are going to be the longest 22 days ever. I usually have little things to look forward to every week or at least every other week but right now I've got nothing before then. All I'll be doing is working and more working.

On another note. I'm going to give you Christmas lovers the greatest gift ever. Remember me saying yesterday that I spent an obscene amount of money while on vacation for none other than christmas decorations and ornaments? Well they also have a website!!! Check it out! The Christmas Place.

Theater Thursday

It's Thursday, so that means it's Theater Thursday! As stated last week, I'm already in the holiday spirit so I'm keeping the Christmas theme. Deal. This week we'll be taking a look at Scrooged.
Made in 1988, Scrooged, stars Bill Murray as a hot shot television executive who cares about no one but himself and making money. As in other scrooge movies, he is haunted by the 3 spirits on Christmas eve (also the night of his huge, live tv production).

I personally love this version because Bill Murray is hilarious. He always adds to his characters and this movie is no exception. If you haven't seen it, add it to your holiday hit list! It'll for sure make you laugh. There's also a guest appearence made by Mary Lou Retton the famous gymnast.

Guess who's back!

I'm back!! Vacation was fabulous. However, I now have a 100.9 degree fever and have to work in the a.m. Uh oh!
Apparently, I left some of you wanting/needing more with my awesomely good news found here incase you missed it. Well let's see.... am I moving to Texas? I still don't have an answer on that one. Am I going to Texas soon? Yes...I'll be there the first week of October. So....Texas ladies get ahold of me and we'll have a meet up!! How fun!?!? Am I still holding back and not telling everything? Yes, haha. If you want the full story e-mail me. I just can't post the whole deal on here.

So vacation....was fabulous. We went to the Aquarium, rode the sky lift, saw a comedy show and all in all it was great! Instead of bombarding you will tons of photos I'll leave you with two of my favs. If you're my friend on facebook, sorry because you've probably already seen them!

Also I found a store there called the Christmas Place and spent over 200.00 bucks in Christmas decorations and ornaments!
Giant Spider crabs!

A Willy Wonka Tree

This is a scheduled post. I'm currently on vacation with my family in Gaitlinburg, Tennessee.
The other day I mentioned I had put up a Christmas tree. I absolutely love Christmas and the holiday season, so I decided and felt like putting up a tree. When Halloween comes around...I'll still put up Halloween decorations lol.
Anyways, here's some up close photos of my Willy Wonka theme tree. And...yes they're cell phone pictures because my camera cord is already packed away.
Hope you enjoy!

A red jawbreaker and a piece of cake on a doily
A candy cane, a swizzle stick and a peppermint lollipop
A cupcake
I love this one! A purple candy piece
Gumdrop garland
Another candy cane.
A pickle!

So there you have it. That's the start to my Candy Willy Wonka theme tree.

The Awesome Good News.

First things first. I put up a Christmas tree this weekend. Since I'm a huge fan of the Charlie & The Chocolate Factory movie, I decided to theme a 2 foot tree into Willy Wonka tree. This picture was taken with my cell phone and you can't really see the ornaments. However, when I get back from vacation on Thursday I'll be sure to post actually pictures of the super cute ornaments.
Now....I could be mistaken but I think some of you have been uber excited and anxious to know about the causes of my recent happy mood of pooping butterflies and vomiting rainbows. Infact, I would dare say that some of you have been so excited to hear my good news that you've e-mailed me begging to know. Well without further ado....
I am 100% happy with my life and how things seem to be going. Why you ask? Well let's see. I'll give you a break down of how I've become happy and the reasons why.
1.5 months ago I felt completely lost in life and unhappy. I felt like my life was ending that I was never going to obtain the things I've always wanted. Now...
  • Work was driving me insane. Constantly changing my schedule. NOW..I have an almost set schedule plus I'm getting 3 days off a week!
  • Discover Card. I had been owing them practically my first unborn child. Well I finally, FINALLY sold my old car and now I feel like they only own maybe a limb or two of the unborn child.
  • Negative Friends. Who needs them? I had a few of them in my life and I finally cut them out of it. Who wants to always be around a debbie downer or around someone who thinks their model beautiful and in turn judges you? Not me. And I'm loving the silence.
  • Guys. Just when you least expect it they can come through for you. They can show you the reason why people get married, they can show you the reason why people start families, they can show you the reasons why they love you.
  • Art. I was never really good at art in school. I was actually horrible. Well in my spare time I started going to an oil painting class and even though I don't think I'm that good. I love it! It's just so fun!
So those are just a few reasons why I'm so happy.....oh did I tell I mention the biggest kicker of them all? It looks like I'll be needing to practice the lyrics, "The Stars at night, are big and bright....deep in the heart of TEXAS!"

Here's a photo of an oil painting I just finished for my's cool....go ahead and laugh. I had fun painting!

4 Day weekends!

4 day weekends are amazing. I am having the best time. I haven't wiped the smile away from my face once.

I did find time to put a Christmas tree. Yes, yes you read that right. A Christmas tree.

Be jealous it looks amazing! I'll have to take some pictures and post them tomorrow. It has a themed decoration decor: Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.

Other than that I've just been enjoying the weekend and hanging out with great people. I promise to post about my super exciting news on Monday!!!

Exciting, Busy Day!

This is going to be a packed out day! I have family coming in and out of town for Labor Day weekend. I'm working a full day & I'm helping out a friend at her job even before I go into mine! So basically I'll be working for 11 hours. However, in the evening I'll finally get to have fun! I have a ton of friends coming in for the weekend! People that I haven't got to see in forever!
Let's just say that I'm so excited for tonight, I've been planning my outfit for days now. I have to work really late so I'm meeting my peeps for dinner. After that...who knows!

I hate to have to say it and I'm not trying to rub it into anyone's faces but I'm really happy with life right now. Everyday I wake up and smile. I thank the heavens above for giving me another day. I have amazing people around me and feel so blessed. The only problem is that my sides are usually aching at night.....from all the laughing I do throughout my day.

Remember that fabulous, juicy, good news that I've been talking about? Well come Monday...I'll be spilling the beans! Stay tuned. Trust me...I'm sure jaws will drop and hearts may stop.

As SunshineMeg would say...It's finally FRIDAY!!!!!!

Pumpkins Revealed

(Pumpkins from the pumpkin house in 2008)

Yesterday, I talked about
The Great Pumpkin House. If you missed it go check it out. However, for those of you who did not miss it, I received a lot of questions. So look no further, here is the answers!
Does the pumpkin house really exist? Yes, yes it does. It's located in Kenova,WV and takes place every year.

How do they carve that many pumpkins in such a short amount of time without them going bad? Ok, the people who own the pumpkin house actually live in the house all year round. It only becomes the pumpkin house the weekend before Halloween and during the week itself. What normally happens is the local newspaper will announce that the family is gutting pumpkins, and carving them. Tons and tons of people go to their house and help them out. It's a community effort. The weather around here by that time is usually cool so it's not like their sitting out in the heat.

How do they decide what gets carved? The family will draw the design on each pumpkin so who ever is there to carve it knows what to do. They also take suggestions each year. Normally, they have a wide spectra of what's on the pumpkins. They have religious pumpkins, sports pumpkins, every state outline and abbreviation pumpkins and many many more!

Do they charge to see the pumpkins? No. It's absolutely free. They do have a concession stand which takes cash only.

How many pumpkins do they normally have? At LEAST 3,000 + I know about 2 or 3 years ago they wanted to beat the record of the most carved pumpkins and they had done over 4,000 so I think it just varies every year.

Hope this helped you out!!! Come visit it this year! You might see me there!!

Theater Thursday

It's Theater Thursday & keeping with our CHRISTMAS theme I'm featuring Holiday In Handcuffs. Since it premiered on ABC family, I've had this movie in my holiday favorites. Holiday In Handcuffs starts Melissa Joan Hart as Trudie and Mario Lopez as Nick.
On December 23rd Trudie is preparing to meet her family at a secluded cabin in the mountains for Christmas. All she has to do is get through her morning before her and her boyfriend make the drive.

Her day does not go as planned. She has a job interview, a hair mishap and is forced to wear reindeer ears at her indian cuisine restaurant workplace. Then when her boyfriend shows up so they can depart, he gives her an unexpected and unpleasant surprise.

This is where Nick becomes involved. Nick is meeting his girlfriend at the restaurant where he also plans to purpose marriage. Instead Trudie has different plans for his next few days.

I love this movie because everyone goes a little crazy during the holiday season. Depending on how stressed I get, I could see myself (kinda) in Trudie's shoes. It's a must see! It's hilarious and charming and adorable all rolled into one. Promise me, you'll add it to your list this year!

Wednesday, September 2, 2009

The past 2 days the weather has been cooler here. The calendar has rolled over to September and all the kiddo's are in school. This weekend is my alma maters first football with that I know the fall is really here. However, what I love about this time of year is next month's upcoming, big event. The Great Pumpkin House
The pumpkin house is located in Kenova, WV. It's about 20 minutes from where I grew up and it's amazing. It's usually featured every year on some early morning talk show. It's been going on for years and years. They usually have over 3,000 pumpkins carved and lit, each one with a different design or saying. I've been going since I was in High school and it never disappoints. It usually opens the week of Halloween and goes till the day after. People come from everywhere to line up and look at the glowing pumpkins.

With some of the pumpkins in 2008

If you've never been to the pumpkin house you should think about making the drive! It's amazing! They have a themed light show with the pumpkins as well. Last year it was the Pirates of the Caribbean.

The Vanity Plate

Yesterday, as I was sitting in stopped traffic on the interstate I came to the realization that vanity plates are a waste of money. I sat behind "PTMama" for 45 mins and I kept thinking to myself. This person has to pay an extra 50.00 $ a year to keep that plate. In WV you're also required to pay your taxes and sticker fee each year as well in addition to that 50.00 bucks! So PTMama and many others who have vanity plates are saying, "Yes, state of ______ (insert state name there), please let me give you more of my hard earned money so I can let the world know I want to be called ______ or known as _____ while being in my car.

To's just not worth the money. Do you have vanity plates? What's your take on it?
