Five On Friday

1. When we moved into the new house we bought a new bed. We had been sleeping on a full and upgraded to a queen. I personally detest king size beds. I think their entirely too big and unnecessary. I love the look of huge, oversize upholstered furniture so when we saw this beauty we were sold.

2. We had our first guests over to the house this past weekend and they brought us a house plant. I love Orchids so I was excited to get this mini one. Now let's just hope I can keep it alive.

3. Speaking of plants I have been obsessed with hydrangeas for the past two weeks. They have been in full bloom all over downtown so when I'm walking around on my lunch and breaks I've seen them in tons of colors. These purple ones are my favorite but I really like the blue ones that I've seen.

4. I really want these shoes...

Their by Betsy Johnson and their suede. I've always wanted a blue suede shoe from the moment I heard Elvis sing about them. I don't know for what reason but I've never actually owned a pair. I think it's time to finally get a pair, don't you?

5. This movie and it's quotes will never get old...

Weekend Review

On Friday evening, I came home and literally just relaxed. I didn't want to do anything. All I felt like doing was sitting on the couch and watching tv. We did rent a movie from Red Box.

Saturday, I had to deal with a fix it list first thing in the a.m. We had our home inspection for the buyers and they came back with a few things they wanted fixed, repaired etc. While I was out there waiting on the guy to come down from my roof, I stopped to smell the roses. No really... I did. They are in full bloom right now. I've got red, pink and peach color.

Later in the day Beezy headed to San Francisco to catch a Giants game with some of his cousins. Since the last night game that I went to froze me half to death, I decided to stay at home. I spent my evening reading and watching some good movies. I watched True Lies, Romancing the Stone and American Dreamer. Beezy did send me a photo of the game giveaway...

On Sunday the moving started to feel even more real because we boxed up all the dvds. That's when you know things are getting real about moving in this house!

Since we really only have weekends to box things up, that took a large chunk of the weekend. Hopefully, next week I will have more exciting news.

Weekend Review

My weekend started Wednesday night when Beezy and I headed to watch the Sacramento Kings take on the New York Knicks.
The Kings weren't successful in their attempt to win but I always enjoy watching the Kings Dancer and guessing which outfit and routine they'll be performing in. Plus they have these inflatable guys who come out and they are seriously cute. Anyways.. moving on.

I have a confession to make. I use to hate on Chipotle all the time without ever having tried it. Well folks, I tried it and it's pretty darn good. I've been there twice in like a week. I might even go back today. Their chicken and rice?!? Um good! Heck yes.
It's like Heaven in your mouth.

I completed another DIY wreath. This one was for someone and Easter themed. I even had to break out the hot glue gun. (I also remembered why I hate the glue gun when hot glue got on my skin).
That bunny in the carrot car... too cute!

And then to end my weekend... I got flowers just because.

Weekend Update

I came home the other day to flowers "just because". Those are the best kind of flowers. Thank you beezy.
It rained my entire three days off work but I was completely OK with that. I spent the time cleaning, getting the house in order and working on one of my 30 Before 30 projects. I also started watching a new show for me... Game of Thrones.
Naturally, I started with season 1. I'm three episodes in and so far my opinion could go either way. It's interesting but I find some parts just so odd. I guess I'll have to keep watching and see what happens. Seasons 1-3 are sitting in my house so I'll have to keep on watching to make my final judgment.

Remember the vintage inspired hat that I ordered for my trip? Well it was backordered and it hasn't shown up. Since it probably won't come in time for my vacation to Puerto Rico, I did the next best thing. I went and got myself another hat. This one is two tone. It's pink and natural tan. Plus it was only 10.00 dollars. Can't beat that! It'll do for this vacation.
Now the countdown to vacation is really on!

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day!
or
Happy Singles Awareness Day!

Either one you are celebrating, I hope you have a fun, happy day. I've already got my Valentines Day off to a great start! I got up yesterday and made some pancakes and bacon...
Then I received some beautiful flowers. I always love getting pretty flowers. They make me smile.
And if that wasn't enough, I got two cds and a journal to complete one of my 30 before 30 tasks. I'd like to say that I'm two days into that challenge and I've 28 more days till I can cross that off my list. As for the two cds I got...
My mom sent me a box in the mail with tons of treats in it. I got a new holiday decoration for my foyer table. I got an entire Chocolate heart box and some Elvis posters. Love him! I can't wait to get some frames for them.

Now it's on to San Francisco this weekend for a little bit of fun. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. If you're single go spend the day with the people who make you smile!

Five on Friday

1. Christmas is the best time of the year.

I have the post Christmas blues. I love the holidays and Christmas is my favorite. I'm sad that it's over. I feel like with Thanksgiving and Christmas being so close this year that all of us got robbed an entire week of holiday joy. I'm so glad that I was able to travel to West Virginia and spend it with family. Santa visited me and brought me tons of great stuff but I would have been happy even if I didn't get a single thing. Being home was enough for me.

2. The Christmas Ham. My mom out did herself this year. She made an amazing ham.
We prepared the ham on Christmas Eve. We got it covered in the pineapples and smeared the brown sugar mixture all over it. Christmas morning this bad boy went into the oven and came out six hours later. It was so good! My mom also made tons of sides which were yummy as well. It isn't Christmas without some ham!

3. Christmas Cookies and Candy. My mom and I made some homemade cookies and chocolate covered peanut butter balls. When I say my Mom and I, I should clarify. My mom basically did everything and I helped paint the cookies and cover the balls in chocolate. Just to be clear. I am not Martha Stewart when it comes to all things.
Cookies for Santa! Clearly he loves Christmas trees and stars.
Prepping the peanut butter balls. Then the finished product...
I can't know how to make these. If I did, I would make them everyday and eat every single one. That's how good they are. Seriously.

4. Christmas flowers.
Someone sent me flowers on Christmas Eve. I thought it was super sweet and nice. Look at that cute boot! I mean flowers and a Christmas boot, how can that not be awesome!?!

5. It's back to the real world now with work. Ugh....

Non Stop On The Go

The last few weeks I have been on the go, non stop all the time. I work 10 hour days so on my three days off either having fun or catching up on errands. This past week I did quite a good mixture of things... I made this awesome breakfast pizza. It included scrambled eggs, cheese and bacon. It was pretty yummy and I might make a second one this week.
I had to make a grown-up purchase at Lowes... a weed trimmer. Since I'm the one who's been having to mow the lawn, I've noticed that I can't get close enough to the fence so it's been causing weeds to grow. I finally broke down and got one of these bad boys...
Was I excited to spend the money on it? No! But I was pretty impressed with myself that I was able to pick out the right thing, put it together and then get the job done. #epicwin So that's another point for me doing manly things. Also my quest for the white bedroom continues on....
I decided to add a white chalk board and cork board. I've also found a new home for my three owls. Plus my trip to Reno resulted in some cute photos that I already had an empty frame waiting to be filled. Only a few more things and the white bedroom will be complete. Then of course there is the amazing amount of roses in my yard. I have so many!
Now let's see what happens this weekend! Have a great one everyone!

Weekend Recap!

This weekend was a good one. Well as good as a weekend can be without having done anything and being alone. Ha! Anyways...

Changing my stuff over into a new purse. The leather is so soft it feels like butter!
Looking at boxes that still need to be unpacked. I was able to make a little progress on these bad boys!
Breakfast of champions! Eggs, bacon and toast (on my fiestaware of course)
Flowers growing in my yard. Anyone know what kind these are specifically?
Finding cute owls at Marshalls. I couldn't pass them up!
Catching up on my magazines for September. Took me long enough...
Plus I got to skype with my mom. I also found the time to sweep all of my hardwood floors, finish up a craft project, hang the curtains my mom sent me (thanks mom!), make chocolate chip muffins and some food to have during the week. Now it's back to the work week!
