Today marks our first wedding anniversary! Honestly, I can't believe it's already been a year. It feels like yesterday that we were organizing, planning and executing our big day.
We got married in Pleasanton, California which is about an hour and a half from where we live in Sacramento. We got married on a Sunday but we went over to Pleasanton on Friday. We wanted to settle into the hotel, greet a lot of our out of town guests and get ready for our big wedding weekend. Saturday was our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner (we had it an Italian place called Strizzi's). On Sunday we woke up to a horrible rain storm. The rain was coming down and the winds were high. The winds were so high in the morning that cars were having to pull over to the side of the highway. During the rain storm, our videographer went to the wrong Marriott BUT thankfully, the rain stopped before noon.
We absolutely loved our wedding venue. The venue was perfect for the look, feel and décor theme that we were going for. They also had some great Christmas options since our wedding was taking so place to the holiday. Plus the food was melt in your mouth good. Everyone raved about how the food was amazing. Our wedding was plated and we served three courses and of course cake!
During our wedding we exchanged our own written vows, tossed the garter, threw my bouquet, cut the cake, danced our first dance, smiled, laughed and cried. We also had a first look before the ceremony. Looking back on our wedding, I didn't realize how stressed out I was leading up to our big day. Once it was all over it was like this huge weight off our shoulders. The day went by in a flash. They say it always does but they are right! The day was here and gone before I could blink. I'm so happy we have our wedding video! I literally watch our short teaser wedding video at least once a week. I love it! (here you can watch it if you'd like) It's like walking down memory lane. I haven't been through the hard drive that has about 9 hours of raw footage. One day.... I'll sit and watch it all.
So here we are... one year later. I love my husband more than on our wedding day. I didn't think that could ever be possible but I do. During our first year of marriage we went through new life experiences, good and bad challenges and many memorable moments. The constant throughout the year no matter what the circumstance was the fact that we love each other. We know that we are in this together. I can't imagine never not having him by myself. I love you boo and here's to our first year and on to the next.

Weekend Review- The Best One Yet
Last week was such a whirlwind. We started off last week by getting engaged. Best Monday of my life. It was perfect. When I think about Beezy getting down on one knee, I could cry all over again. It was magical and so full of love. I was also completely touched by the outpouring of love from our families, friends and all the comments and congratulations.
About one minute after getting engaged.
On Thursday we celebrated our anniversary. If you heard about the weather this past week in Sacramento then you heard the term, "The worst storm in a decade" being used. So what happens when torrential rain, flooding and 40+ mph wind hit town? You change your plans a little. I was surprised at work with these...
Last year when we first started dating, Beezy sent me a Christmas flower arrangement while I was in West Virginia visiting my mom. I love that this arrangement was also a Christmas theme. It's kind of a tradition now!
Once I got off work and made it home in the rain, (thankfully no major flooding on my roads), we decided to go ahead and head back out into the rain to go to our reservations for dinner. Beezy had made these reservations and wouldn't tell me where. I literally didn't have any idea where we were eating until I was getting out of the car for the valet.
We dined at Ella Dining Room and Bar. It's downtown and very nice. Beezy had the steak and I got a pork chop. Seriously the best pork chop I've ever had. It was also the size of my arm. The thing was huge! We couldn't believe how big it was.
Despite the rain we had a great anniversary. Did we exchange presents? Of course we did! Beezy made me an 11x17 photo book with all of our greatest hits in it from the past year. I bought him a suit jacket he had been wanting.
Saturday we hit up the Kings game vs. Detroit Pistons. This was our first game as being engaged. Since that's where it all started it was fitting to spend our first weekend engaged at the game. Love you boo!
The Kings lost the game but since their best player is out sick it wasn't too big of a surprise. We still had fun though and after the game the fun continued. We headed out to see a few Christmas lights.
Now that was a good weekend. I don't know how we'll top that one for awhile!

Happy Anniversary!
Today I want to say a big Happy Anniversary to the most important man in my life.
Today a year ago we started saying that were dating. It feels like it was just yesterday. It doesn't feel like a whole year has gone by. Each day that I wake up with you beside me I know that everything is going to be ok. You make me smile and laugh and you make me happy. I have never been this happy and it's all thanks to you. I don't know what I did in life to deserve you but I thank my lucky stars that you came into my life and that we got together. I can't imagine my life without you. You are my everything. I can't wait till next year when we get married and I start calling you my husband!
I love you
Here's to all the years to come.

One Year Anniversary

Today marks one year that I have been blogging. All I can think to say is, Wow! I can't believe it's been a whole year.
When I started blogging last October I had no idea that it would be where it is today. I started blogging because I was bored. I wasn't working at the time and someone I know had mentioned blogger to me. When I started my blog it was originally planned to be with my best friend. We thought that we would take turns writing in it. Um...that lasted about a week. The next few months I didn't blog that much but then I finally got into blogging.
I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who reads my blog. I have came across and met some of the most wonderful, caring and giving people. You're comments make me smile and I always love getting your input on things I have to say. No matter how many people reads or doesn't read my blog....here's to another year!
In honor of my 1 year anniversary in blog land I'll be doing a giveaway. So check back tomorrow! I have to say, it's a GOOD one! I think you'll like it.

Questions Answered!
First of all thank you for SO many questions! My 100th will hold the giveaway! It's coming up soon!!! There's a lot of questions so let's get to it!
Ashley asked What do you do for the government? I work for the Department of Homeland Security. What do you do to cheer yourself up when you feel down during ? When I get sad or down I'll go out shopping (which gets expensive) or I'll put in some kind of action movie steering clear of romance. If friends are available I'll usually go hang out with them. What is your favorite comfort food? I love love love breakfast foods: bacon, pancakes, toast, hashbrowns.
Shoshanah Asked: Do I have a favorite Little Debbie Cake Snack & If so which one? I do! I love Fudge Rounds. I have to be careful when I buy a box because I could literally eat them all in one day!
Samanthathearmywife asked: If I could be on any reality show which one would it be & why?? Definitely Big Brother. I love that show! You get to live in a cool house, get money and meet new people! I seem to be into movies, how & why did that come about? Ever since I was a kid I use to love watching movies. I was and am an only child so maybe that has something to do with it. I love to watch movies. I love to collect them because I don't see the point in renting over and over when I could just buy it and have it forever. All time favorite inspirational/uplifting quote? "You have to let go of who you were to become who you will be".
Abbie asked: What is your favorite season & why? I love summer but I really enjoy watching the leaves change colors in the fall. I love Thanksgiving and Halloween so I'm going to say the fall. You told me you use to work for NASA, what did you do there? I worked there for a little over a year and I was an Aerospace Instructor...which is a fancy word for a teacher. What did I go to school for? I got my degree in Criminal Justice and foreign language: German.
Jon & Steph asked: If you could travel any where, where would you go? I'm a big fan of London. I love that place. I use to live there and I've traveled there numerous times. If I was picking someplace that I've never gone though, I would have to say Australia. From what I've seen in books and movies and from word of mouth it is amazing!
(Army)Wife asked: Any tattoos? If not, what would you get? I do not have any tattoos. I don't think I'll ever get one just because it isn't me. If I would it would be a cluster of stars in all different colors. If money was no object, what car would you buy and where would your first road trip take you? I would buy a black range rover. I would go to Chicago. I love that place and I haven't been able to go there for a few years. Love it there! If you could talk to any one person in the world who would would it be? If it could be someone who's deceased it would have to be Bobby Kennedy. I think he was an amazing man.
Random Musings of My Life asked: Favorite color? Green but I also love Pink! Favorite food I could eat all week? Bacon Grilled Cheese. Water or Soda? Sprite Zero. Favorite childhood memory? Going to the drive in and seeing a double feature of Straight Talk and Sister Act 1. Siblings? Nope, I'm an only child.
Katie asked: When you were little what did you want to be when you grew up? A dentist (I know right...weird).
New Girl on Post asked: If you could be a spice which one would you be and why? I wouldn't be on. I'm not a big fan of spices at all! They really upset my stomach so I usually steer clear of anything too strong. I would be salt though because I love salt! Very comfy outfit to wear? I'm all about some gym shorts and a tshirt around the house.
Jenn asked: If you didn't work and volunteered to occupy your time, where would you volunteer? I would volunteer for domestic violence shelters. I did this during college and it was such a great experience. Very humbling but so rewarding.
Mrs. GI Joe asked: If you could pick any style of house to own, what would it be? Victorian! But remember the full house family's house...that one! Picked out any kids names yet and if so what are they? I have..I think every female does this. If I ever had a boy I would love to name him Wheaton. Wheaton Blake Ryan. If I ever had a girl I love the names, Sadie Alexia and Sydney Rose.
High Heels & Combat Boots asked: Favorite song or a soundtrack to your life? It's going to seem really random or out of place but I would have to say U2's With or Without You.
Favorite place to shop? I love love love Forever 21 and Target! I could shop at those places for hours upon hours. Favorite restaurant? Locally a place called Fat Patty's. A place that's all over, Ramon's Macaroni Grill.
Indiana.girl asked: What would your dream house look like & where would it be located? Something big! Lot's of rooms and located some place warm! What things would you have to have in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom? An oven and range, a great shower and a huge comfy bed!
Shaina asked: Where did you go to college? Marshall University (if you haven't heard of it, watch the movie We Are...Marshall). Where in DC do you live and what's your favorite thing to do there? I don't live in DC. I have family that lives right outside of DC so I go there often to Falls Church. My favorite thing is to go down to the mall and see the museums and monuments. I love the Jefferson one.
Thanks for all the great questions ladies!!!

3..2..1...Breakdown
All day I have been feeling on the verge of a breakdown. Time isn't moving fast enough. This is my weekend for work (I have Tues' & Wed's off) and on these days time stands still. At least when I'm at work, I'm staying busy and time moves quickly.
Speaking of work, I got invited out next Tuesday to dinner with a group of people from work. I'm pretty excited by this. This is the first time I've ever gotten the invite. I'm the newest person there and they've all worked with each other for years so they must actually like me. It's kinda bittersweet though because it'll be all couples and then me. Scott (one of the guys from work) was telling me, "Yeah you should come! You'll get to meet all of our spouses." I'm standing there thinking, awesome...too bad I'll be there alone!
Am I the only one that watched Jon & Kate last night? Now, I've only watched a few episodes..ever. I'd say maybe 5. Well I say, Good for you Jon! Now maybe finally you can get your balls back from Kate. I'm sorry but all the episodes I've ever watched she does nothing but yell at him, degrade him, cut him off mid sentences and rules with her iron fist. However, I do feel for their children.

Snail on a Salt Bed
If you ever decide to make a quilt stop right there. It sure is hard work! My little fingers are bleeding from the amount of times I've stuck myself with the sewing needle. I've had to take a few days break from it. Instead I've worked more on the blanket I'm knitting and it's coming along!
I got a nice surprise today. Someone gave me a late birthday present...what was it you ask? A 30.00 $ gift card to Borders. Swwwwwweeeeeeeet. I love borders! I'm all about some reading!
Today is my Friday for work. I have the next two days off. Tomorrow I'm spending my day painting our living room. Right now it's this sand color tan. Yuck. It's getting painted ivory.
Alright ladies, I've been up since 4am. I'm taking a miniture nap. Oh, if you missed my last post go check it out. It's about my upcoming 100th post! Click here

The Who, What, Where, When & Why!?!?
Guess what?!? My 100th post is quickly approaching so to honor this occasion I've decided to do something special. During my blogging time I've noticed people usually do one of two things. They either 1) Do a Giveaway or 2) Let people ask them questions.
For my 100th post I've decided to do both! Why no?!?!? So I'm going to start taking questions today and for the next few days. When my 100th post arrives it will contain all the answers to your questions! Also the 100th post will have the giveaway where you can enter for the awesome gifts I'm cooking up!
So DO NOT be shy! Ask away, this includes you lurkers who just read and never comment! Ask me anything you'd like to know! Go ahead.....

Easter's on it's way.

I don't know why, but every year when Easter rolls around, I always get the biggest laugh out of this photo. It never fails to make me smile or laugh out loud.
I can't believe Easter is this weekend. It's snuck up on me. I've been seeing the candy it the stores for weeks but it donned on me today that Easter is this Sunday!

This weekend is also the weekend two years ago my uncle Jonathan married Megan. I honestly never thought that he would get married. He just didn't seem like he'd be that type of person. I guess when you find the one anything can happen. Here's a picture of them on their wedding day.
Such a cute couple. I don't think the smiles left their faces that whole day. Infact...I'm pretty for sure they're still smiling. Congrats on the 2 year mark!
