My 1st Flashback Friday!

The other day I was going through some old photos (the ones of me and the random squirrels) and thought I would start up a flashback Friday. I don't know how often I'll do these but hey...at least you'll get one for today! Haha, Enjoy!
First up: Christmas morning I'm guessing 1989, holding my cassette player!
Rocking out the fo-hawk!
I had to throw in another squirrel photo! See him hiding from me in the bushes! Let's not even discuss my stay puft marsh mellow legs....

I was apparently making faces even then!

My very 1st piece of candy ever!

Haha, hope you enjoyed!

Going Private

Unfortunately, I will be making this blog private starting mid next week. If you would still like to follow it. Please either leave your e-mail address or email me at Jmomiller@gmail.com

I don't think it will permanently made private but for the next few months it will.

Theater Thursday

It's that time again folks! It's Theater Thursday! This week we're taking a look at one of my personal favorites (wait.. aren't they all my favorites since this is my blog?), The Wedding Date, starring Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney.

Kat (Messing) must travel back to England after being M.I.A. from her family for 3 years. The reason for her heading back to London? Her younger sister, Amy's (Adams) wedding. The groom's best man Jeffery happens to be her ex-fiance. Unable to face showing up alone she hires a professional date, Nick (Mulroney) to escort her to the wedding.

Once arriving in England they set off for the weekend wedding festivities soon learning that neither of them are going to end up getting what they bargained for...

This movie has beautiful views of the english countryside and is one of Amy Adams' first major film roles. The other supporting cast members have all been in other major films and do a really good job. The soundtrack is very nice as well..Check it out!

Realization

I realized after yesterday's blog, that I can't thank all of you enough. Life is hard and having all of you try to cheer me up makes me smile! Anyways, all of you are fabulous so I've decided to bestow a blog award upon some of you.
Remember every. single. one. of you is AWESOME but since I don't have the time to write out 120 blog awards, I'm narrowing it down.

This is the award: Your blog makes us smile!
I couldn't find any major qualifications to go along with it so I've made my own. Simply put: Your blog makes me smile and laugh. I usually look forward to reading it.

In Random Order.

Thank you all for making me smile!

Yay! I finished!

Remember the blanket I've been working on? Well after finishing the infamous quilt, I turned all of my attention onto the blanket. I can now say it's done!
It's a twin sized, knitted blanket. Pardon the horrible quality picture. It was taken with my camera phone. In case you can't tell it's aqua blue and brown.
I was going through some old photos and I realized that as a child I had a major obsession with squirrels as a child...

See...I told you

Sunday Show Night

I've come to find that Sunday is my big night for television. I come home from work, shower, eat some dinner and watch these:
Big Brother
Drop Dead Diva

Army Wives

It is a night of pure bliss. If you don't watch any of these...check them out. It will make your day brighter.

HATE IT! HATE!

And I never say that word! I'm willing to make an exception this time. I absolutely hate: Coleslaw.

(I even started gagging while trying to find a photo)
I don't know what it is about it, maybe it's the texture, maybe it's the gross smell, maybe it's just because it is NASTY. I do not, have not and never will like coleslaw. If someone was holding you hostage and the only way to get you out alive was for me to eat a tub of coleslaw...well I hope you have a will ready.

Now who likes coleslaw? Oh, about everyone I know. If it's a side dish option at a restaurant.. it gets ordered. If it can be found pre made in the store...it gets bought. I refuse to make it. I'm sorry I'll do alot for people and I have, but I will not make coleslaw. Is it bad that when someone orders it and it arrives at the table, I always cover it with a napkin until their ready to eat it? Haha!

Thank Goodness & The Skip It

I went into work and got surprised with a double shift. Um thanks...I didn't pack a lunch. So there went the calorie count for the day.

I did get really great work news! I'm being sent to Pittsburgh for some training. Yay!!! I'll get 4 days of a vacation...well technically 2 because I'll be in training for the others. What will I be doing when I'm not training? Shopping! And surprise, I'll be leaving week after next. Here's to hoping my room has free internet!

Maybe you can help me figure this out... Why, oh why are old people so afraid to pass semi's and tractor trailers on the highways? I mean really? If you're going to drive in the left lane then guess what..you need to punch it. If you're going to be a snail move it over and get behind or in front of that 18 wheeler. I will ride your bumper until you move!

On a random note, I really wish I still had my "skip it" toy from when I was a kid. That thing was a major work out and it kept track of how many turns you did!

Theater Thursday

It's Theater Thursday! This week we're taking a look at Chasing Liberty starring Mandy Moore and Matthew Goode.
The premise of the movie goes as: Anna (Moore) is the President's daughter. The President who is played by Mark Hamill goes on a GA Summit to Prague taking the 1st family along with him. Well Anna, getting ready to embark on her freshman year of college wants to attend Germany's "Love Parade". Obviously, her family doesn't want her to attend and is forbidding her to go.

In an attempt to coax her into a better mood they agree to let her go out on the town for the evening with the daughter of the French president. Chaos ensues and Anna manages to escape and meet a mysterious man named Ben (Goode).

Ben tags along the way with Anna as she tries to make her way to Germany's parade. Trust me....many things happen along the way, some comical and some heart aching.

I really love this movie because it's a romantic comedy with a great back drop. They travel through Europe and into England. It's also about finding true love and people's willingness and how far they'll go to obtain it. Everytime I watch this movie I always find myself saying, "I want someone to make the grand gesture for me."

In an added bonus, Jeremy Piven is in this movie. He plays one of Anna's 2 main bodyguards who has to spend his days chasing her around Europe. Check it out! I think you'll enjoy it!

Good Eats & A Confession

Today I get to eat at one of my favorite restaurants: Fat Patty's!

Sadly for all of you, it's a local restaurant. I would completely understand if you wanted to come visit though because the food is amazing! They give you giant food portions for super cheap and the place is amazing on service. Oh, did I mention it's just a really fun place to eat? Anyways, I'm meeting one of my fellow alumni sorority sisters there for lunch. Yay!
I heard from my hunny bunny boo yesterday! I was sooooo excited. I hadn't got to hear his voice in over a week (9 days to be exact).

Ok, let's get serious here for a minute. I don't know if I've mentioned this before but I feel I need to come out and quit hiding it on here. I am a HUGE super fan of Britney Spears. Now wait...before you judge, I am not a "To Catch A Predator" type fan. I don't have her poster hanging on any of my walls. I'm not following her on twitter, I don't check her website, etc. I just actually, really like her. I think she can actually sing (when she's not lip synching) and she is a good dancer. I would like to point out that I was not a fair weather fan either. I was there rooting for her even as she shaved her head, went crazy with an umbrella, were drunk dancing on the vma's and did that horrible reality show called Chaotic with Kevin "the creeper" Federline. On my bad days, I'm guilty of getting in the car, cranking up her cd (shattered glass off the circus album = amazing) and letting all the hate out. So today...I salute you Britney Spears. I'm rooting for you to drop your dad from his strong hold in court this week!

Sarcasm & Halloween

If you haven't been able to tell, I'm a little, very sarcastic. I love to laugh, joke around and in general just have a good time. I learned last night you can't joke around to a big dude about his mom. Haha. oops.

Ok, in my last post I mentioned my future Halloween costume. This is it here! It's totally a DIY project. You can see from the instructions it's somewhat complicated to make. Now why do I want to be this for Halloween you ask? Because I think it would be sooo cool. I mean really who picks this for their costume!?!  What do you think?

May or May not haves....

I may or may not have cried the entire time while watching Army Wives.
I may or may not have discovered a great new show called Drop Dead Diva.
I may or may not be addicted to watching Big Brother.
I may or may not have been uncomfortably hit on at work yesterday.
I may or may not have figured out what I want to dress up as for Halloween.
I may or may not have cheated on my calorie count this week...ok this was a for sure.

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Silly, Silly Girl

Well first of all I want to thank every single one of you for the great input, loving and supportive comments you bestowed upon me with my serious post.

Ok...so am I the only one watching Big Brother? I absolutely love that show. I watch it every summer. My favorite season was the All-Star season but this year is looking pretty entertaining. Let me just say, I cannot stand Ronnie. What a little weasel. I hope he gets the boot early on. He's like nails on a chalkboard to me. Also what is up with Chima and her plastic forehead? Is that a shine or botox gone horribly wrong? I am however, cheering on Jeff and Casey. They seem like cool dudes who have been the only sane and truthful people in there. Who are you rooting for?

I'm going to jump the gun here a little bit but I really wish it was the holiday season. I love Halloween, Thanksgiving & Christmas. Best time of the year hands down.

Theater Thursday

It's Thursday? Holy Crap! This week is flying by...that means it's Theater Thursday! This week I'm talking about a true classic: Back to The Future
This was the first movie I ever saw in the theater. Granted I was 1 and my parents had taken me with them for the lack of a babysitter but STILL! This movie rocks.

If you haven't seen this movie then you have been living under a rock. It stars Michael J. Fox (one of the most inspirational people in my opinion) as Marty McFly, a teenager trying to get through high school along with his girlfriend Jennifer. Marty is friends with a scientist Dr. Emmet Brown. Needless to say, Brown invents and time traveling machine fueled by plutonium.

Brown has stolen the fuel from Libyans and gets into a sticky situation resulting in Marty getting sent back to the future...the 1950's. With Marty back in time he must figure out a way to get home & without altering his own future by who he comes across.
Who wouldn't want this as a time machine!?!

The Hoverboard. Ok...yes it isn't shown until the 2nd movie but I wanted one of these so bad as a child..I couldn't help show it! Check out Back to the Future! You won't be sorry!

Soap box & Vacations

Let me say right now ladies, randomly checking your significant other's e-mail account without their knowledge will always lead to something bad. It doesn't matter if they've given you their password....something will always be there that let's the mind wonder....

With that being said, I will now jump down from my soap box.

Today is my Sunday and I'm back to work tomorrow. I'm more than ready for a vacation. I'm going with family to Gaitlinburg, TN over Labor Day and I can't wait. It's been about 2 years since I've been there. I use to go all the time as a kid (it's where my family would always go for our entire family vacation) and now that I haven't got for awhile I kinda miss it more than I thought I would. Besides that vacation, I'm not doing anything else until sweets comes home. I'm trying to save up every annual day I can accrue so I'll be able to take leave for his homecoming!

Where did all of you vacation as a kid? Was I the only one to get pushed in the car and taken on a Clark Griswold type family trip each summer???

The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow!

Man, is it just me or has the past few days been rough ones? Work is long, the evenings are boring and it just feels like the end of the year is staring me in the face.

Thank you so much for your nice words on my quilt. I sent the person I was making it for pictures. Yeah...I don't think they liked it too much. Oh well, I think it's fabulous!

Lola, asked what am I going to do now to occupy my time since the quilt is done. That would be continue knitting the blanket I was working on. I've probably got at least another week of work to do on that. So at least that's something to keep time moving.

The Infamous Quilt

If you're a faithful reader then you know about this quilt. For my new readers, I'll explain: When I get off from work and on my off days I like to just hang around my house. Lately, I haven't known how to occupy my free time. For the past 33 days I worked on this quilt and it's finished. I don't know how to sew on a machine so I did it all by hand.

Try not to be too harsh...it's nothing fancy. Just something I thought he might like. Tell me if you think it looks like complete crap because if so I don't want to give it away as a gift.

The quilt is a full size. I had to fold it in half for pictures. This is one side...
A close up on a section of fabric
Another close up of the fabrics
More fabric...
What the back looks like...

A New Day

Today I started counting calories. I've done this before but it's been a very long time. I decided that since our countdown only has a mere 119 days (note the sarcasm in the mere) that it's time I get in gear. I don't know where my Jillian Michaels Shred dvd is but it still has not arrived. Thank goodness I have the Jackie Warner WorkOut dvd to fall back on. I'm going to limit myself to 1250 calories a day. I feel like I've been eating everything! It's time to figure out if I actually have been! Haha!

Work today and tomorrow then it's my weekend!!! Yay! However, quilt pictures will have to wait until tomorrow. Sorry!

Yesterday for those of you wondering which Christmas movie I watched. I dusted off All I Want For Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you've never seen it. It's a must add to your Christmas Holiday movie list!

Pure Bliss!!!

I am in pure bliss because of two things!
I got to talk to an important person in my life

And I ate two of these....

Now I'm going to sit here and knit while watching a Christmas movie. That's right I said a Christmas movie! Tomorrow I'll be posting pictures of the quilt because guess what? It's finished!!!! I finished it late last night!

Happy Birthday!

Today is my mother's birthday! Per her request I'm leaving her age off. Haha! Happy Birthday Mom! I love you! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Dear Post Office

Dear United States Postal Service,
I have a love/hate relationship with you. If you haven't heard my sweetie is currently playing in the sandbox, thousands of miles from me. When he is able to get ahold of me and conveys to me that he needs basic necessities then guess what? He really needs them! Tough soldiers don't e-mail their girlfriends, fiances, wives and buddies asking them to send over toilet paper just so they can go TP some Iraqi's hut. He needs it for his personal duties. Also when I take the time to fill out the customs form and pay extra for insurance that means you tape, stick and apply these forms to the box. I'm not getting carpel tunnel for no reason. I write these things out so the box will actually get to him.
Now I know you've delivered through everything (or at least claim to) including rain storms, earthquakes, famines, flooding and hello war! So my question is..why are you letting a little sandstorm/dust storm ruin your track record? You think you'd want to uphold this prestigious record during these current times as you raise your prices almost monthly now! With this being said, I would like to say shame on you! I am sorely disappointed in your duties. Come to think of it, your appearance as well! Where is the safari hat for the summer?
Next time (because there will be a next time), please remember to NOT leave my sweetie's boxes sitting out in the 110 degree heat, without a customs form attached, being unclaimed and unused. Finally getting it to him 3 weeks after it being "sent" with even the nutrition bars being half melted. Please and Thank you!

Theater Thursday

That's right! It's Theater Thursday! Wow! Sometimes I feel the week flies and all of the sudden and out of no where it's Thursday! This week I'm talking about Grease 2

I absolutely love Grease 2. I actually enjoy it more than the 1st. Grease 2 begins with the start of the next school year. This time instead of Sandy (Olivia Newton John), it's her cousin Michael (Maxwell Caulfield) who's come to study abroad. He immediately becomes smitten with the head of the Pink Ladies, Stephanie (Michelle Phiffer) wants nothing to do with him. He in turn tries to figure out a plan to win her heart.

There's a great ensemble cast in this movie. The only original Grease movie member to make an appearance is Frenchie. The T-birds include a now famous actor Chris McDonald (known for Happy Gilmore). Surprisingly, all of the actors can sing remarkably well. I hate to pull out my nerd card....but I do own the soundtrack to this movie....

Anyways, check out Grease 2. If you ever saw the first one and liked it, then I'm sure you'll enjoy the 2nd one as well! Pre-Warning: It comes with some catchy tunes that you'll find yourself singing!

Get Down Tonight

Am I the only one who seems to get a little sad and feels the loneliness more at night? All I want is a hug right now.
  • I want someone to fork spoon with at night.
  • I want a guys big, muscular arm wrapped around me at night as I sleep.
  • I want to feel completely secure when I fall into the realm of sleep.
  • I want to walk down the street, holding the hand of the person I love.
  • I want to say "Two Please" when I walk up to the movie theater ticket counter or ask for seating in a restaurant.
  • I wanna cuddle on the couch while watching tv or movies.
  • I want to make him breakfast and watch him enjoy something I made.
  • I want people to stop looking at me like I'm a disease cause I'm without a plus 1.
  • I want to get cute surprise text messages from him.
  • I want to be able to make concrete plans instead of "tentative".
Friends are busy with their families doing summer family things. The cheese stands alone.........

I feel like Chuck Norris beat me up

A few days ago I jumped on the bandwagon and ordered Jillian Michael's The Shred. It still has not arrived, but since I've been in a work out out mood (which is very very rare), I decided to start my working out today. The only workout dvd I own, I bought about a year ago. It's Jackie Warner's from the Bravo show WORKOUT.
Oh.my.efffing. goodness! I did the 20 minute lower body workout. The dvd is busted into three 20 minute workout sessions being: Upper body, lower body and core strengthening. I chose the lower body and seriously my legs are still feeling like jello. What's really sad is that about after 10 mins I turned it off. My legs were just hurting so bad! I could tell after the 10 minutes that my legs are going to be sore aching the next morning. I was correct. They are killing me. I must have some serious fat in my lower body because I am oh so sore.

I got skills...ok, maybe not.

I beg all of you to not make fun of me... Sara over at When in Rome is having an awesome giveaway. I really want one of the prizes and to enter you must draw her dog and a cupcake. I have no drawing skills or coloring skills....I think they escaped me when I was 8 or 9. Without further ado....here it is.....click on the photo to make it bigger
Remember the blanket I've mentioned numerous times? Well I've been knitting away on it and it's finally doubled in size since the past few weeks. I mean really people...when I'm not working or working on the quilt. I'm knitting. Here is the fruits of my labor so far....

It's brown and teal. The picture does not show how big this thing actually is...it's HUGE!

Other than all that, I'm enjoying my day off by reading, watching movies and eating junk food. Ahh, life is good.

I came to a realization

This 4th of July weekend I came to many realizations. Well...I kinda already knew it but I'm willing to admit it now. I have an addiction. That's right, I said it. I'm an addict. I'm addicted to:
Burger King Cheesy Tots...the 12 pack.
And...
Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie Ice Cream

Someone help me!!!!! My thighs are screaming for mercy.

Also, I came to the decision that my neighbors are certifiable crazy. I mean really. I've mentioned them before HERE. Well yesterday on the holiday they decided to have a yarn sale. Yes...a yard sale. My house is on the corner of the block. They live to my left. Well the only extra street parking is on the side beside my house. I come home from work and the first thing I see is about 20 tables set up on their teeny, tiny lawn. The second thing I see is that there's no parking available and some douche is blocking my garage entrance. I let it go...I go inside my house and forget about their rudeness.

A few hours go by and we're ready to grill out. Well the only thing that seperates our back yards is a metal fence that's waist high. I didn't notice before but their yard sale extends to their back yard. So....the ENTIRE time we're grilling out we have complete strangers asking us how we're doing, hinting for free food or just rudely watching us eat. Awesome. After the food was done, we basically moved inside to escape. I let it go...

Once night fall comes. I swear they must have let off about 800 dollars in fire works. Kid you not! They let off so many fireworks I could smell the gunpowder from inside my house. No windows or doors open either! Seriously....I am not in their fan club...

Theater Thursday

That's right! It's Theater Thursday! This week I'm featuring the movie Wise Guys
This movie was made in 1986 (you guys know I love me some 80's movies), however I had never seen this one until this past weekend. I have never laughed and smiled during a movie so much. It had me entertained from beginning to end. The biggest star in the movie (at least to me ) is Danny DeVito. Now there is some note worthy actors in it, but I just can't remember their names. You know those actors I'm talking about. The ones that you see on random shows and have bit parts in big movies, yet you never know their name. Well it has a lot of those in Wise Guys.

The basic plot for Wise Guys is: 2 guys (1 being DeVito) are street runners for an organized crime group. Well they place a bet that lands them in hot water. They are forced to flee town while trying to figure out what to do that will not result in them getting killed. This whole movie takes place in New Jersey (shout out to the real housewives) and at Atlantic City.

Check it out...you won't be disappointed. I promise.
Don't forget my giveaway ends on Friday night!! Enter!

10 True Facts: Honest Scrap Award

Enter my giveaway...do it!
Recently I got tagged by
Katie for the Honest Scrap Award. Basically, you have to tell 10 true facts about yourself. Here they are:

1. I love breakfast foods. I could literally eat them for every meal, every day for the rest of my life. I can't get enough. I love hashbrowns, toast, bacon, pancakes...you name it!
2. I hate liars and cheaters. If I find out that someone has cheated on their significant other or someone has lied. I completely lose ALL respect for that person and they can never get it back.
3. I can forgive but I can never forget. I don't hold things against people in the sense that I remind them of it over and over but it's always in the back of my mind.
4. I love snuggling on the couch under a blanket, watching movies. It doesn't matter what movie it is. It could be every single person getting shot in the face or the saddest movie ever...as long as I'm all cuddled up I'm good to go.
5. I'm a firm believer that once you reach your mid 20's you should NOT have a roommate or roommates. I think by that age unless your living with your significant other you should have your own place. College is over...so should that multiple living space lifestyle.
6. I use to let my friend keep her porn at my house. She use to live with her parents and she was afraid they would find it and get mad at her.
7. I'm a sucker for romance. The way to my heart is through gestures..ie...writing me a letter, surprises or just something completely simple but unexpected.
8. I am addicted to shopping at Forever 21. For real.
9. I own the most absence amount of dvd's ever. I could start my own rental place. I own everything and my collection continues to grow every week.
10.  I am on the biggest television nerds you will ever come across. I love shows like The Love Boat and Matlock. It's cool though...

Hope you enjoyed.
