San Francisco, California!

My trip out to California was way to short but I know soon enough, I'll be moving out. In the mean time, bare with me over the next few days because I plan to recap a lot.

Thursday night I arrived to Sacramento pretty late. I got settled in and tried to get a good night's sleep because Friday I got up bright and early and headed over to San Francisco. Since it's only about 90 miles, the trip was really short and I didn't catch a lot of traffic until I actually got into the city.

Once I got there we hit the ground running. I immediately headed over to Washington Square for some breakfast. I had been told that Mama's was a great place to eat. Well it really must be because when wIgot there, the line was down the block. I didn't want to waste too much time in line so I walked down the street and found a great place called Cafe Divine. Where I was served this...
Once I finished breakfast I drove over to Alamo Square to see the famous Painted Ladies. The Painted Ladies are by far the most famous row houses in S.F. and one them happens to be the house that was featured in the opening credits of Full House

At the steps of the Full House home

From there I headed over to Castro and got to see the famous Castro Theater. I also walked the streets where the once great Harvey Milk walked and worked.
Then it was off to Baker Beach to get some great shots of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was such a beautiful day! I loved it. I highly suggest going to Baker if you want some great shots of the bridge, water and sand in your photos.

I was on a tight schedule because I had booked the Alcatraz tour in the afternoon and since you have to be on the ferry by a certain time I dashed over to the Fisherman's Wharf to Pier 33 for the tour. Being on Alcatraz was amazing because I'd seen it so many times in movies so it was surreal being there. Fair warning... the ferry ride to and from was FREEZING. The wind off the bay was so cold, I was thanking the heavens above that I brought a jacket
From there I hit up In & Out Burger and then headed to AT&T Park for the Giants game. They were in their 40's of consecutive sold out games. I was really lucky and I was able to find great seats on Stub Hub.
Sadly the Giants lost but the game was still really entertaining!!! Once the game ended I made the trek back to Sacramento. All in all it was a fabulous day in San Francisco!

Theater Thursday

It's Thursday and that can only mean one thing... it's Theater Thursday! This week's featured movie is The Princess Diaries. I chose this movie because it's partially filmed and set in San Francisco. And today I'm leaving for California!
The Princess Diaries stars Anne Hathaway as Mia, a 16 year old girl who lives with her mother in San Francisco, CA. For her entire life she's lived with her mother and was never able to meet her father because of untimely accident. Over the years, she's never had any contact with his side of the family.

Out of the blue her grandmother (Julie Andrews) wants to meet her. Grandma comes to town and springs a giant secret onto Mia. Not only has her grandmother been keeping the secret but so has her mother. Turns out she's a princess!

Shocked, confused and not knowing how to act or behave Mia decides to assume the role and attempt to please everyone. Along the way, she starts to spread herself to thin and realizes she can't have her old life and new one at the same time. Certain things will have to change if she's going to accept her new role.

Fan Club Members

If I've learned one thing in life it's that people hate to see others happy when their miserable with themselves. Their ugly thirst for knowledge, their want for involvement in my life and the ugly things they say. It's kind of sad and pathetic. Haters Gonna Hate.
I say, Welcome haters. I'm so glad to have you in my fan club. I'm flattered that you care that much to make me the center of your attention. I'll be signing autographs at 2 but no pictures please.
So keep on drinking your...
And I'll keep doing what I do. And who doesn't love bluntcard?

Top 5 Reasons To Be Excited About CA

Since announcing my upcoming move to California a few months ago, I've been posting the Top 5 Things to be Excited About California. Incase you've missed any of the previous entries, you can find them here . So without further ado, here is this week's top 5!
And since I'm headed to California this week for just a visit, you'll notice their geared towards northern California. Enjoy!

1. The S.F. Giants. This weekend the Giants will be playing the Brewers. We're hoping to catch the Friday night game! Hopefully, the weather will be good and the tickets won't sell out. Fingers crossed!
2. Alcatraz. aka The Rock! So many movies and television shows have been filmed at this historic location. Once a prison and arsenal, Alcatraz sits vacant but open to the public for touring. We've got our tickets! Because it sells out fast!
3. The Golden Gate Bridge. One of the most iconic landmarks in the United States and beyond. No trip to San Francisco is complete without seeing the GG Bridge.
4. The State Fair! Currently the state fair is being held in Sacramento. They've got everything from corn dog eating contest, to rides to funnel cake!
5. The Beach!
I can't wait for Thursday to get here! So... what's some of your favorite things about California?

Weekend Update

My weekend began at 12:01 a.m. on Friday at a midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.
I can't believe it's over! I thought the movie was amazingly good and there was many moments I thought I was going to cry. It's been awhile since I read the book so I was pleasantly surprised how the script went. The Weasley's are by far my favorites so I was glad to see more of them in the 2nd part.

Friday after recovering from being up till three in the morning, I headed to Charleston (which is about 40 minutes away) for some shopping. I hit up a store I've been wanting to go to for awhile now... Home Goods.

Umm.... Amazing! I could have spent a small fortune in that place. They have everything and at really decent prices. I did purchase a few things but my favorite was this glass owl...
I love it! I've got a big thing for owls so when I saw it, I knew I had to buy it. Love it!

I'm so ready for California! T-Minus 3 days!!!! Thursday can't get here fast enough!

Theater Thursday

It's Thursday around here that means one thing... Theater Thursday! This week's featured movie is, Leap Year

Leap Year stars Amy Adams as Anna Brady. She's been dating her boyfriend Jeremy for awhile now and is ready to get married. Jeremy on the other hand doesn't have any plans of proposing soon. He's too busy being a doctor and planning out their new living arrangement.

When Anna hears about the Irish tradition of how if a woman asks a man to marry her on leap day he must accept it, she feels this is her chance to get married. She books a ticket to Dublin, Ireland to surprise Jeremy who's there on a medical convention.

Along the way she experience's travel mishaps, weather alerts and comes into contact with a man who will change how she looks at herself, her relationship and what she really thinks is important in her life.

If you've never seen Leap Year, it's definitely a cute movie to watch.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm loving... the new season of True Blood.
Seriously I can't get enough. I've read all the books. I've seen all the seasons and now that I can watch the current season on HBO, I am loving it! This is the first season that I'm actually getting to watch it week to week instead of having to wait for the dvd set to come out.

I'm loving... this Daisy Fuentes ruffle bag that I got at Khols last week.
Mine's purple, which I'm obsessed with right now and has tons of room inside it for all of my stuff.

I'm loving... ice cream!
This has been the summer for getting ice cream. I recently did a whole post on the place but I am still loving Austin's Ice Cream. I'm there at least twice a week and I try to mix up the flavors. The latest flavor choice... Grape Pineapple.

I'm loving... the summer! I don't want it to end! There's always so much to see and do!

Here I Come California

I'm headed to California!

San Francisco

Sacramento

When I made the announcement the other day on twitter that I was headed to California in just a few days, I was overwhelmed with the question, "Is this your move?!"

To answer that question, that would be no. I'm still waiting for my move. It's getting closer and closer. That's all I can say about my move right now. Just know that when I'm getting ready to leave, I will post about it. For now, this is just a trip to the state I love.

I'm going to be in Sacramento and San Francisco. I've already got tickets to tour Alcatraz and my breakfast location picked out. Any suggestions on what to do for the rest of the day in S.F?

Also suggestions on what to see/eat/hang out at in Sacramento would greatly be appreciated!

Birthdays & Weekends!

First things first, Happy Birthday to my Mom!!! Today is her Birthday! I love you Mom!
I hope you have a wonderful Birthday Mom!

As for my weekend, Friday night the dude (because I haven't decided if I'm going to talk about him on here or not yet) and I went and saw the movie Horrible Bosses. It was hilarious.
If you didn't see it this weekend, go sometime this week because you'll laugh the entire time. Charlie Day and Jason Bateman totally stole the whole movie. Plus for the first time in a long time, Jennifer Anniston was actually really funny and I didn't think of her as Rachel.

I even got a red rose at the start of the night!

Just because. Isn't that sweet? I sure think so. I also indulged some Austin's Ice Cream over the weekend too. But we won't talk about that lol.

A Little Housekeeping

Seriously, where has the summer gone? I can't believe we're already into July. The days are flying by and I just keep trying to play catch up. Summer months are so busy, packed with birthdays, vacations, preparing to move, hanging out with friends and going out on dates there's hardly any down time in between.

The laundry piles up, television shows go unwatched, cleaning falls to the wayside and answering e-mails becomes a chore. I've been trying to balance everything but sometimes things just fall through the cracks. So let's do a little housekeeping, shall we? We shall!

-Let's start with my move to California. Yes, I'm still moving. I can't give my exact move date on here yet but I box up stuff all the time and pray to the transfer Gods that it'll be very, very soon. Because I am more than ready to be on the west coast.

-Many of you have noticed via twitter and/or facebook that I've been hanging out with a nice guy but haven't blogged about it. Well you should take notice that I haven't posted a, What Not to Say/Do on a Date either. Hence, that means it's going well.

-I've been spending a lot of my spare time with one of my good friends who's in town for the summer. She's also my partner in crime when it comes to getting ice cream at Austin's the local ice cream joint.

-Remember me talking about the horrible dermatologist appointment I had in April? The one where I cried because the doctor was so mean. Well I did what any bitter girl would do and I took it to the internet. I found a natural, over the counter supplement to try. I'm entering my 3rd month of taking it and let me just say, it's been nothing but great. I've noticed my skin look so much better and so has others. Check it out, it's called Biodermazen.

It's about $30.00 a bottle but isn't it worth it to have clear skin? I sure think so! Thank goodness, I'm not allergic to any of the natural ingredients.

-Books. I set a goal this year of trying to read 50 books. Last year I read 45 and I thought it would just be fun to try to beat it with reading a total of 50. Um... right now I'm currently reading book number 24 and I'm wondering if I can still do it! Ekk! Wish me luck

-For one of my NYE resolutions, I set a savings goal for each month. So far, I've met the goal each month. I'm also seeing my debt come down and that means good things! Here I come, home loan!

So that's what is going on in my world. What about yours?

Theater Thursday

It's Thursday and that can only mean one thing here at Crazy Shenanigans! It's Theater Thursday! This week's featured movie is, The Cannonball Run!

Made in 1981, The Cannonball Run features an all star cast that's involved in an illegal car race that stretches across the country starting in New York and ending just south of Los Angeles, California. The movie is actually based on an outlaw race that took place a few times in the 1970's.

The race starts and all their rules go out the window. All of the teams and individuals are willing to do anything to win the race. They'll call the cops on other participants. They'll run them off the run and they'll lead them into speed traps. If you loved the newer movie Rat Race, then you'll love Cannonball Run!

Happy Birthday America

I spent my 4th of July weekend doing a lot of this...
Hanging out in the pool. What's sad is the fact that it was overcast on the day that I could get in the water so I didn't get any tan whatsoever.
Watching fireworks. Since I had to work on the actual 4th of July, three friends and I got together on the 3rd for fireworks. There's been places all over town setting off fireworks so thankfully there was plenty to see.
Eating hot dogs. For real, I could eat a hot dog off the grill everyday of the week. There's something about them when they've got those charred, black lines on them. So good!

One thing that did make me laugh this year on the holiday... I was driving home with a friend and in the bad part of town. We saw fireworks going off but at the same time I said, "I don't know if that was fireworks we heard or gun shots."
