Happy Anniversary!
Today I want to say a big Happy Anniversary to the most important man in my life.
Today a year ago we started saying that were dating. It feels like it was just yesterday. It doesn't feel like a whole year has gone by. Each day that I wake up with you beside me I know that everything is going to be ok. You make me smile and laugh and you make me happy. I have never been this happy and it's all thanks to you. I don't know what I did in life to deserve you but I thank my lucky stars that you came into my life and that we got together. I can't imagine my life without you. You are my everything. I can't wait till next year when we get married and I start calling you my husband!
I love you
Here's to all the years to come.

Best Moment of my Life
Last night the greatest thing in my life happened...
We really had a 5:30 appointment so once we took photos we left and went to it. That's when the mania started because in the car ride over we sent texts to our family and posted it on social media. I think that was the best decision ever because for the next hour we just let our phones blow up. I am so happy. He is the perfect man for me. He is the love of my life. He completes me. Let the wedding planning begin! We have our date set!
Beezy asked me to marry him! And of course I said yes!
Our anniversary is on Thursday and he totally fooled me by asking me on Monday. We had a 5:30 p.m. appointment and he was late to picking me up. If you know Beezy, you know he is never late picking me up for anything because he doesn't like me standing outside and definitely downtown (even though my work building is really safe). He's all about watch your surroundings. So when I called and asked him where he was and he told me he was running late I was like WHAT? He told me he had been over in Roseville shopping for Christmas and I knew he had been so that was a reasonable response. It's when he asked me to walk over to the Capitol Christmas tree that I figured he either had something sneaky going on or he really was just running late. He told me that it was faster if he picked me up over there. So I obliged and walked the two blocks.
When I walked up to the Capitol Christmas tree, he was out of his car and walking up beside the tree. He said he wanted to take our picture with the tree. I was still thinking this might just be a normal thing. He knew I was wanting to see the tree and for us to take a photo with it. I mean hello, I love Christmas. So we took a few photos with the tree. It was when he grabbed both of my hands and started telling me how much he loved me and how he has never been this happy that I thought, OH MY GOD THIS IS IT!
At this point I started crying. I noticed that he was getting teary eyed and I can't keep a dry eye when he starts to get teary. I covered my mouth because I was starting to cry because I was having that moment in your life that you've wanted for so luck and wished and hoped for and it was finally happening. He asked me if I was laughing and I was crying. He got down on one knee and said, "will you marry me?" I remember looking at the blue box and saying yes. He stood up and gave me a hug. I started saying, "Of course I'll marry you boo boo". We hugged and kissed and took a few more photos.
A really nice lady and her friend must have been walking by because she was like do you want me to take your photo? So she did!
Did you think I wouldn't show you the ring?
Tacori.

It's February!
Today is February 1st and that means it's the month of LOVE!

Valentines Day supplies are filling up the stores. People are making plans with the ones that they love to celebrate Saint Valentines Day. The weather isn't as bitterly cold as it's been and spring is right around the corner. Bright pinks and reds fill up the decor isles of Michaels and Hobby Lobby. This is a happy time...

I'm pretty for sure a lot of this will be going on out in the world... if you get the drift...

However, my Valentines Day won't be any of that. I'll be spending the day working. Then I'll come home and watch a little television, maybe read and then go to bed. Yep. Exciting stuff folks. That's what happens when your relationship is currently long distance. Josh still isn't living in California yet. We've been hoping for months now... six to be exact that he'd be able to come soon. We are still hoping that. Luckily, I was able to go back to West Virginia for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.
Now that Valentines Day is fast approaching, I guess I'm just a little blue. Technically it's just a money endorsed holiday but still. I don't want us to miss any holidays together. We've been together since June 2011 and we've never spent this much time apart, let alone holidays. It's been harder than I thought but we've been getting through it. Here's hoping he can be here by Saint Patrick's Day or before!
So while you spend this month with the people that you love, remember your single and long distance people need a little love too! lol There is always arts and crafts.....

Why I wish my life was a 1980's movie...
Let's admit it, if you've ever seen one of my Theater Thursday post then you already know that I'm a big fan of films from the 1980's. I can't help it. I just can't get enough of them. Most of them are light and fun and everything ends up OK in the end. So without further ado, the top 5 reasons why I love 80's movies and wish my life was one of them.
1. The Guys
Hello... have you seen 16 Candles? Jake Ryan is adorable. Then you've got Matthew Broderick via Ferris Bueller's Day Off, a teenage Patrick Dempsey in Can't Buy Me Love, Emilio Estevez in the Breakfast Club and no 1980's movie would be complete without John Cusack. All of the men are funny, confident and let's be honest... cute!

2. Grand Gestures
Driving all night to get to the one you love. Standing outside with a boom box over their head. Getting on a plane and flying across the world. Undertaking huge endeavors to be with the one you love. Spilling your guts out in front of complete strangers and wearing your heart on your sleeve in the hopes of getting your feelings reciprocated. Who wouldn't want someone to do one of these things?
3. The Guy Always Get's the Girl and vice versa

The guy/girl always ends up with the one they've been chasing. Usually, one of the fore-mentioned grand gestures takes place allowing it to happen. Pretty In Pink is a prime example of this. She goes to the prom thinking she's done with the boy and the boy makes the grand gesture of getting his toxic friends out of his life to end up with her.

4. Awesome Music
Every 80's movie has got great music backing it up. It would be like walking around with theme song after theme song supplying the background to your life. Every time I hear, Don't You Forget About Me, I instantly picture Judd Nelson fist pumping. And when I hear Danger Zone, I can't get Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer's volleyball playing abs out of my head from Top Gun. Then you've got movies like Flashdance and Footloose who's whole soundtracks are amazing!
5. The Antics
No matter what they were always getting into something crazy. Never a dull moment!

So my question to all of you, what's your favorite 1980's movie?

A First
I've got something super fabulous going on today (that I'll talk about tomorrow) so I thought I'd open up Crazy Shenanigans to a guest. So without further ado, my first post by a guest blogger. Let's all say a hello to, Ms.Random from Random Ramblings.
Dear Reader(s),
I am so excited to be a guest blogger for Jennifer today! I have had an amazing time getting to know more about her over the past few months and can't believe she would allow me to dominate an entire day on her blog. Thank you, Jennifer!
After discussing a few of the posts I had written to share with my readers over the next couple of weeks, Ms. Crazy and I chose the following to post on her site today. There are times when I am "light and fun," but this particular post is on the more serious side of my life. It involves an ex, a mistake and the desire to overcome!
I have been in a bit of a love-funk over the past several months. (OKay, to be honest, it has actually been going on for longer than I care to think about.) I have only met a handful of men over the past 5 years that I have truly considered being in a romantic relationship with. Some of them became extremely good friends, but none ever sought me out for more. (I don't care to get into the reasons currently.) This "situation" has caused me to wander from the path and pursue relationships that were all wrong for me. (OKay, there I go lying again. I pursued A relationship that was unhealthy.)
In my post on Sunday, I discussed my deepest desire: to be married. Back in August of last year, I lost all hope of this dream every becoming a reality and it caused me to stumble, more like throw, myself into the arms of a man that I should never have trusted. I'm not trying to place the blame on him for my actions in any way; I knew better. We have been down that road many times before and it has never worked out. However, I began to wonder:
Could I love him completely?
Could he love me completely?
Could we be happy together?
Could I give myself to him with no regrets?
Could this be the only man that will have me?
We finally hit rock bottom in our "relationship" almost two months ago and have now had to sever all ties to one another. I can't begin to express the shame, humiliation and hurt this caused me. I can't begin to tell you how he truly feels because he never expressed it. All I know is that I chased after the wrong man and was left crying on the shoulder of my family and friends when he tired of me.
This past Wednesday, my sister-in-law and I decided to sample Taylor Swift's album Fearless. As we were going through the list of songs, we came across one named White Horse. Mrs. Awesome's first words? "This album may not be the best idea for you right now." You think?
It isn't all his fault. In the beginning I told him I would never want to be with him for the long-hall; he isn't even close to fulfilling THE List. He was under the strong impression that I would never love him and he had no knowledge of what I was completely feeling and contemplating. I wanted to know without a shadow of a doubt that we couldn't make it. I was searching for a conclusion that God actually provided years ago. I experimented with his feelings towards me and he used me to build up his ego and discarded me once he was built up enough to pursue another woman. (He has never seen my worth and I have never understood that.)
He never officially asked for my forgiveness, but he has it none-the-less. He never begged for me to be a part of his life again, but I miss him none-the-less. He never asked to be my prince charming, but I was secretly hoping he would be none-the-less. Stupid girl.

Good Decades & Bad?

Where has the year gone? I really can't grasp that there's only 2 days left to the year 2009! At times, I felt like this year was never going to come to an end. Hours, days and weeks dragged on and on, feeling like the end would never come. Then something funny happened, November hit and the days started dropping like flies.
I've heard people say that when new decades begin things change. People can go from having horrible luck, bad experiences and not so great years to the polar opposite. I'm really hoping that'll happen to me.
Now don't get me wrong, overall this year has treated me pretty well. It had it's ups and downs but all in all it wasn't so bad. I was able to get a brand new car I went on multiple road trips from the midwest to the east coast and mideast! I met some wonderful people and even met a few I'd rather forget. Re-lived bad dates, listened to crazy neighbors and even become an employee of the federal government. Woohoo!
So with the end of the year coming, I'm wondering... what will this new decade bring for me?

I am the biggest Sap
For days now, I have been the biggest sap ever. If you don't read Steph's blog The Adventures of Jon & Steph then you may not understand this story. A few days ago she posted about her recent trip to Cologne, Germany with her husband Jon. Being the loyal follower that I am, I read the post. Simple enough right? Wrong. I fell in love with this post. She introduced me to the greatest and cutest idea ever. Let me explain.
While being in Cologne she traveled across the Hohenzollern Bridge which you'd think is just a simple bridge. No. The bridge is covered in locks. Every single lock represents love. Do you have any idea how much I love this idea?
I liked the idea so much I started to research the bridge, looking for more information. I was able to find all kinds of cute pictures and information. This place quickly moved up on the list of places I want to go to. So much so that I called my boo and told him that I wanted us to go there. Here was the conversation (I found it very entertaining):
Me: I want to go to Cologne, Germany.
Him: Um..ok?
Me: I just read the greatest story about people putting locks on a bridge to represent them being together and their love. I want to attach a lock.
Him: Hmm, that sounds interesting.
Me: You think I'm a sap, don't you?
Him: Yes baby but it's so cute.
I encourage all of you to look up the bridge or head over to Steph's page to read about it.

Romance

Is true romance still alive?
I recently had a friend pose this question to myself and all of our friends. We started thinking about it and discussing it and what I heard was alarming.
Now currently, I'm pretty biased because I'm surfing around on cloud 9. However, I feel that true romance is alive. I believe know that there are guys out there who still believe in it as well. There's guys and girls out there alike who still believe in "courting", that open up doors for each other, never go dutch, send flowers and call when they say their going to.
What do you think? Do you think that people have given up the romance and go straight for the convenience? I think there's a lot of settling going on. Women have become so hung up on being married by a certain age that they've given up on the idea of being courted.
