Birthday Wish List

This year I'm turning the big 33. While I'm not too excited about the age, I am excited to celebrate my birthday! I always have my mom and boo asking for ideas of things they can get me for my birthday so here's a few things that I would love to call mine.

1. Toms.

I have a pair of canvas shoes that I recently pulled back out and I realized how much I love wearing those kinds of shoes. I recently saw a pair of Toms that would go with a lot of things that I wear and would be great for summer! Their in the color Ash.

2. Village Pieces.
On my recent trip to Tennessee, I was able to get several pieces for great prices. I want to keep adding to it and since all the pieces are so cute, it's hard not to! I got a great Marilyn who stands outside a theater, now I just need the theater! I love this Victory Theater! I also want the Griswold House because I have several pieces from the National Lampoon Series. I would also like to get Boss Shirley's house because I feel it's not as popular and they will discontinue it quickly.

3. Beauty & The Beast Mystery Mini.
I had no memory of ever seeing the original Beauty and the Beast animated movie. I think as a kid, I was just way more into 80s movies so I hardly remember watching any of the "classic" Disney movies. When the new movie came out, we went to see it and I really liked it! Funko came out with these Mystery Mini's of all the characters. Unfortunately, you don't know which one you are getting until you open the box and they made several of them available only at certain stores. I have got the entire set except one... Cogsworth the clock! I keep these little figures on my dresser and look at them every morning when I get up so I'd like to finish my set!

4. Books and Movies.

I love reading and I love movies. I'm still trying to get these movies (I've wanted them for quite some time) and I love books! I've been reading a lot this year! I need several of my favorite author- Stuart Woods.

Of course, I would just be happy to spend time with my boo and my mom! I wish we could spend my birthday together but this year Skype will have to do!

My Wedding Style

We finally got our photos back from our wedding photography and I couldn't be more excited! Now I can share my special day with all of you and show off my fabulous wedding details. First thing up... my wedding dress! My dress was a Maggie Sottero and is named the Chelsey. I had originally seen this dress online and instantly loved it. It was the dress that I had to try on.

In November of 2014, I went to a local bridal boutique when I was in my hometown for Thanksgiving. I had called and asked if they had that dress and they told me yes. I got there and sure enough they didn't. They didn't have any of the Maggie Sottero collection. The consultant wasn't listening to me when I told her what I was looking for and brought me ball gowns. That was the furthest thing from me that I wanted. So when my mom came to California for Christmas we went to the Bridal Box in Roseville. I had called ahead of time and made sure that they had the Chelsey in store for me to try on. As soon as I got to my private appointment, I made sure the dress was pulled and put into the fitting room. I also chose a few others to try on but I tried this one on first and knew.

What you may not realize is the top was a jacket that was separate from the dress. I didn't realize it either until we had my appointment. I knew I didn't want to wear my gown as a strapless so I had my jacket altered and attached to the dress to make one piece. My dress came into town in June of 2015 and I had to hold on to it for another six months before I could wear it. I also went down 28 pounds from the time I bought it to when I wore it so I had to have it taken in a few sizes.

I love how my dress turned out. I love that it perfectly fit our theme and venue. To finish off our winter look I wore a crystal snowflake in my hair that I searched online forever for. The place that I got my dress had many different options but no snowflakes and I was dead set on having one for our winter/Christmas wedding.

I also wore sparkly shoes. I had originally wanted to find blue shoes. I had thought about buying the shoes that Carrie wore in Sex and the City for her city hall wedding. Then I thought to myself, "A 1000 girls have worn those shoes because of that movie." For me I wanted this wedding to be about me and not what Carrie wore in SATC. So I devoured online stores and had my maid of honor looking everywhere. Well two months before the wedding, we had to visit the venue for one of our final consultations. I was sitting outside by their fountain waiting for our consultant to finish up and randomly found them from Nordstrom. I ordered them instantly online and a few days later they were on my door step.

They went perfectly with my dress and theme. They were comfortable and classy. I loved them! They can even be worn again with another white dress. I love how my entire wedding style turned out!

5 Boots I'd like to Walk In

Fall weather mixed with rain and the approach of winter brings out the boots. I love all different kinds of boots. While I've only selected 5 to show off, I still appreciate the warmth of Ugg and Sorel boots. There was also a pair of Emerald green boots that I almost broke out my credit card for. You can see why here. They are fabulous! Here are five other fabulous pairs of boots that I'd be fine walking around in...

1. Sam Edelman 'Penny Boot' Wide Calf in Whiskey.

They can be found here.

2. Hunter Original 'Tour Gloss' Packable Rain Boot in Hunter Green.
These boots are perfect for fighting off the rain. You can also wear them in the winter and make them even warmer by inserting warm insoles. They will definitely keep your toes warm and dry.
They can be found here.

3. Steve Madden 'Hipstr' Bootie in Navy Suede.

They can be found here.

4. The Brat Pack Bootie- Tan.

They can be found here.

5. Panama Woven Chelsea Boot.

They can be found here.

Five On Friday

1. When we moved into the new house we bought a new bed. We had been sleeping on a full and upgraded to a queen. I personally detest king size beds. I think their entirely too big and unnecessary. I love the look of huge, oversize upholstered furniture so when we saw this beauty we were sold.

2. We had our first guests over to the house this past weekend and they brought us a house plant. I love Orchids so I was excited to get this mini one. Now let's just hope I can keep it alive.

3. Speaking of plants I have been obsessed with hydrangeas for the past two weeks. They have been in full bloom all over downtown so when I'm walking around on my lunch and breaks I've seen them in tons of colors. These purple ones are my favorite but I really like the blue ones that I've seen.

4. I really want these shoes...

Their by Betsy Johnson and their suede. I've always wanted a blue suede shoe from the moment I heard Elvis sing about them. I don't know for what reason but I've never actually owned a pair. I think it's time to finally get a pair, don't you?

5. This movie and it's quotes will never get old...

Weekend Review

This weekend, we finally made it to the theater to see 50 Shades of Grey. We were in Las Vegas when it came out over Valentine's Day/President's Weekend. Our schedules have been busy so we finally got to the theater. At first we thought we were going to have a private showing. We got to the theater about 20 minutes before the movie and the theater was completely empty. If you live in a big city then you already know the theaters fill up quick so you have to get there early for a prime spot. So imagine our surprise when we walked into the theater and it was just us.
I've read all three books and Beezy hasn't read any of them. He felt a little lost in the story line and I had to try to fill in the holes for him. He thought the movie was a let down from everything that he had heard. I thought it was tastefully done. I felt like the two hours went by extremely fast and I'm already wondering if they'll do the second movie. On a side note, I didn't realize until the Oscars that Dakota Johnson was Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith's daughter. I wouldn't have guessed that ever but when I saw them together at the Oscars, I saw a few similarities.
Let me nerd out and also tell you that I've seen her dad, Don Johnson's classic hit Miami Vice and own every season. Yep. What can I say, I loved 80's television.

A week ago, I got a new pair of shoes. I saw them online and thought they would be great to wear with some of my dresses and especially in some of our engagement photos.. When they came they were just as cute as online but they didn't fit great. I'm always a size 6 in high heels and these were the tiniest size 6 shoes, I have ever put on my feet. The right one fit ok but the left one was like a kid shoe. I knew immediately that they would be really uncomfortable to wear. When we did our engagement shoot, I took them just incase but ended up not wearing them. Well Sunday, I dug the box out of recycling and those puppies are going back. I never return anything but I know I won't wear them. Their cute though...

I've been wanting to get some blue suede shoes so maybe I'll trade them in for a pair.

I'm so thankful that Beezy and I have the same the days off. We are very fortunate to be able to have our weekends together. We always enjoy spending our days together. We also went to a Kings game earlier in the week against Memphis and they won!

Now it's another week of work. 5 more days till the weekend!

Five on Friday

1.

Earlier in the week, I had to travel to West Los Angeles for work. This was my first work trip with my new job and it was interesting! I flew into the Burbank airport for the first time too and it was nice! I like it way more than LAX.

2. I want these shoes so bad for my wedding but their sold out everywhere not to mention their $995.00 If you know somewhere that isn't sold out, let me know!

3. I'm kind of in a rut with blogging. I feel like I don't know what to talk about anymore. At the same time there's all of these things I'd like to talk about but then when I sit down to write it the words just won't come out. Ugh.. hopefully this passes.

4. I got this movie for Christmas and I forgot how cute it was...
It had been a long time since I had last seen it. It's cute and funny. I know that Fran Dresher can really annoy some people but in this movie she was just right.

5. I'm dreaming of going on a great vacation. Dreaming is about all we can do right now lol.

Five On Friday

1. I have a new guilty pleasure. It's called Leann and Eddie...
Um, how did I not know this show had started airing till recently> I've been trying to catch up on past episodes and the show is actually really good. I've always been interested in their story since they made the movie that caused the cheating heard round the world. I think I'll keep watching for now. They seem really good for each other and happy. Leann also doesn't seem as unstable and crazy as the tabloids make her out to be.

2. These shoes...
I saw them on Pinterest a few nights ago and can't stop thinking about them. They are ridiculously expensive and super hard to find because it turns out their from a few years ago. BUT I want them! I think they would go great for an upcoming event. Someone buy me these 1,000 dollar shoes.

3. Speaking of Pinterest, I've been on a pinning roll. I've been pinning everything from fudge to wedding flowers. Not only have I been pinning, I've actually been making things that I see on there. I've used two recipes this past week that I found on there. One being the stuffed peppers that I talked about earlier in the week and the second some breakfast egg cups. I mixed some eggs, cheese and sausage for some easy morning breakfast.

4. I finally caved and bought a reusable water container. My work has a water jug and for the low price of 3.00 a month I can drink as much as I want from it. Beezy and I figured that it would be cheaper to start doing that than buying bottled water. So we got a pretty container for me and a brita one for him. I have to admit, I've drank A LOT more water now that I have the container than when we were buying bottles. Maybe it's the fact that it's a straw? I don't know. Either way I've got a cute container on my desk. I went with an Aladdin Mason Jar container.
My jar is solid purple instead of pink. It's also double sided so the water stays cool without causing condensation on the outside. Each filled jar is 20 oz. of water when a bottle of water for me was usually 16 oz.

5. Am I the only one who feels behind on their Christmas shopping? I usually start shopping in June and I don't have one single thing yet for people. I need to get on it. Like now. Dear Amazon? Why did you have to change your minimum price for free shipping? That wasn't nice. Stop trying to make me join prime for free shipping in two days.

Five on Friday

1. I've gone on two job interviews in two weeks. Both would mean a promotion. One is here in Sacramento while the other is located in Chicago. Do I want to freeze to death during the winter months again? No. Come on Sacramento job!

2.

I've been lifting weights everyday for two weeks now. I'm trying to slim down (hello vacation to Hawaii) but also get some muscles so I've been doing low weight, high reps. It hasn't been all fun but hopefully it's going to help. Let me tell you about that weight set and stand... best 30 dollars spent on Amazon!

3.

Speaking of Hawaii, it's approaching quickly. Have any of you ever been to the Big Island? If so give me your suggestions! What should I not miss? This is my first time to Hawaii and the big island. Any place I should eat at? Shop at?

4.

Going All-American. I've decided this summer to go all American. I've got some American flag shorts and now these shoes thanks to Beezy. I'm going to rock them all summer and especially in July.

5.

Beezy is a huge Raiders Fan. He's a season ticket holder and has been for awhile. The NFL schedule was released last week and that's all I've heard about. Looks like I'll be going to a few home games this year.
