Five on Friday
1. Monday I watched the Sacramento Kings win over the Mavericks.
2. Then on Wednesday, I sadly watched the Kings get crushed by Utah Jazz. Boo! But at least it's good seats.
3. I indulged in some Urban Fries from Jack's Urban Eats. They are so good and addictive! It's fries covered in blue cheese, chili flakes and of course topped off with steak.
4. On Black Friday I took advantage of the Alex and Ani 15% off and free shipping deal an got myself this beauty. It's my motto!
5. Enter my giveaway! You could win an Amazon gift card!

Thanksgiving 2013
Surprise! I went home to West Virginia to spend Thanksgiving! For months, I knew that I wasn't going to be able to go home for the holiday. I had to make a decision which was more important: Thanksgiving or Christmas and I had chose Christmas. As time got closer and closer to Thanksgiving, I started getting really sad that I wouldn't be able to see any of my family. It would have been the first time ever that I hadn't been with any of them for the holiday. I didn't want to spend it alone.
At the same time my mom didn't want to have a dinner or go to a dinner unless I could be there. I had been able to get the time off work but the flight prices were just insane. The closer and closer we got to the actual holiday the more they skyrocketed. I had been invited by a friend to spend Thanksgiving in Tahoe and had agreed to go. I would at least get to spend the holiday with a friend and their family and eat some turkey. Around the two weeks before Thanksgiving mark, I got a message from my mom. She bought me a flight for Thanksgiving (I had purchased the Christmas flight at an insane price over 2 months ago). I was so shocked and excited!
I was going home for Thanksgiving!
I left Sacramento on Wednesday. The snow storms of the east coast had been cancelling flights right and left so I got lucky and my flight was on time. I had the shortest layover ever in Chicago at O'Hare with only 40 minutes to sprint from one terminal to the other and get to the opposite end. I was on a mission. I bolted out of that plane and literally did a full on run. There is nothing like a short connection to make you realize how out of shape you really are. But I made it to the flight and they started boarding!
I finally arrived in West Virginia a little before midnight and was reunited with my mom...

We had a great Thanksgiving meal together and I got to see some people that I hadn't seen for awhile. Plus... who doesn't love turkey skin? Yum!
Maybe I'm in the minority but this year the Black Friday sales starting on Thanksgiving really got under my skin. Don't get me wrong, I love a good deal and I love things on sale BUT making people go to work on one of the only days that I can remember as a kid, for years, always closing on the actual holiday... well that's just not cool. So I refused to go out and do any black Friday shopping on Thursday at all. In fact, I only went to one store on Friday and did three online shopping things. To anyone who had to work on Thanksgiving, I'm sorry. Maybe next year it won't happen.
Now what did I buy online? Oh this little beauty...
That jacket came 30% off and with free shipping. Thank you Red Dress. I can't wait to sport it! I also got this Alex and Ani bangle 15% off and with free shipping. I'm a sucker for that free shipping...
I also indulged in one of my favorite West Virginia things... Tudors Biscuit World. God it's so good! I had the Duke which comes with egg, bacon, cheese and potato. Win!
Now that's how you spend 48 hours people!

Weekend Review
I hope everyone is having a great Labor Day weekend! The end of summer is sadly here. I feel like it went by so fast. Faster than normal. This past weekend, I was greeted with a nice California sunset from my front door.
Over the weekend, I hosted a baby shower for a co-worker and spent tons of time prepping for it. I swear baby showers are stressful and expensive (more details coming soon).
I indulged in my new addiction to Alex and Ani bracelets...
And these boots... Thank you DSW for having them on massive clearance. I'm talking 120 dollars down to 73 and then another 70% off. Um yeah... they were basically a steal. Plus they fit my big, fat calves muscular legs.
Now to survive the rest of the work week. Ugh...

Weekend Review
I finally got my hair cut!
I also spent the weekend indulging in some of my favorite things. I went to one of my favorite food places... In-N-Out.
In case you wonder what I get, I usually go with a cheeseburger, fries and sometimes a chocolate or vanilla shake. Pure heaven.
I also worked on my quest for the white bedroom. Since I've added it to my list of 30 Before 30, I really need to make it happen. This weekend, I was able to get the other two of my map prints up. Thank you Map My State! If you want your own map use my code CrazyShenanigans for 20% off your purchase! It ends soon so don't miss out! You can get can an 8x10 print including shipping for like 15.00 dollars. Here's what my prints look like...
I chose California, West Virginia and Alabama because they are all places that I've resided in. I think they look great on that wall.
I also bought a new Alex and Ani bracelet. What can I say? I'm obsessed. PLEASE someone buy me all the ones on my wish list for Christmas and every holiday till the end of time.
After/Before
Clearly I had it colored and layered. I love how it turned out! I am so glad I finally found someone in Sacramento who I can trust to do my hair. If you ever need someone good, check out the Amithyst Boutique Salon. I worked with Amithyst herself who is amazing and so was Kurtis. I will definitely be going back to see her! Arm/Wrist Candy
Have I mentioned I'm addicted to using Instagram? Well I am! You should follow me: Jmomiller (there's a handy little button on the left that'll take you right there).
I always enjoy posting my shenanigans. Usually, you'll see my travels, food, accessories, decorating and more. Lately I have been obsessed with posting my daily arm/wrist candy. Incase you don't know what that is, here's a handy (no pun intended) definition for you:

Wrist Candy: Unnecessary wrist and/or arm decorations worn by all. Throw back to friendship bracelets. It is recommended to be toppled over watches, chains and other adornments; the more the better.
Here's some of my wrist candy that I've posted...
I think it's fun to make combinations and show them off. I think I'll keep posting them for as long as I have the bracelets to do it! Then I'll have to move on to my ring collections. So do you have wrist candy you like to show off?
