Candy Christmas Tree

My very first theme tree was a candy tree. I had always wanted a white tree and had loved the idea of a candy theme tree. I set out for the next two years to collect candy themed ornaments. I searched every where and found over 100 ornaments. It also has 5 different light sets on it. It has everything from gingerbread men to lollipops and ice cream cones. I collected them for a few years and added to it but now I've got so many don't have to search for any more. This tree will always be one of my favorites to decorate each year.

If you've missed any of my other Christmas in July photos don't worry! You can catch up here. Do you have a tree you love to decorate? Let me know what your favorite theme is!

And It's Christmas

It's November and to me that means it's Christmas. I know. I know what you're thinking. This girl is crazy. We haven't even celebrated Thanksgiving yet. Well hear me out before you call me crazy.

We've all been seeing Christmas items invade the stores for weeks now. In July, Hobby Lobby dedicated isle after isle to Christmas décor. Home Depot, Target, Walmart, every store started slowly filling up their isles with Christmas items before we could even celebrate Halloween. The candy isle would be on one side and the Santa Claus dressed pig for the yard would be on the next. It seems like the last few years mainly, the last two that stores start prepping everyone for the holidays much faster than before. I know a lot of people say, respect the turkey. And I do, I really do. I just feel what goes better with a Thanksgiving turkey than a Christmas tree in the background for photos?!

So that's why on November 1st I busted out the decorations and started making my house into a winter wonderland. I was able to get up one tree and my living room decorations. I've still got two other trees to get up and a smaller one for the bedroom. The first tree I put up was my white candy tree! I've had this tree a few years now and I always love seeing the different ornaments come out of the box as I decorate it.

So it's November and we haven't celebrated Thanksgiving and I've already got my a tree up! I love this time of the year and it makes me happy to have my house decorated. I know some may think I'm a little crazy but I enjoy them.

Expect tons of photos detailing the trees! And yes... that is Tesco the cat making an appearance under the tree. He's found himself a new napping spot.

Five on Friday

1. I got my hair done yesterday. I went for lots of layers.
Before/After
I get my hair done at the Amithyst Boutique Salon by Amithyst and she's been nothing but amazing. I seriously can't thank Jenn enough for telling me about her!

2. I put up my annual Candy theme Christmas tree! I'll post more about it next week.
Still getting the ornaments all on it

3. I'm over people who pretend to be one thing but really turn out to be another...

4. I have a to-do list about a mile long. Yet... I sit here. Hmm... I can't decide if it's a lack of motivation, the cold weather depression or a mixture of both. Thoughts?

5. I plan on seeing Last Vegas this weekend. I'm also getting my very first spray tan. It's a custom tan so a person will literally hose me down. Awkward.......

Weekend Decorating

It's no secret that I love Christmas. Once we hit October it's hard for to contain my excitement about the upcoming holidays. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Halloween and Thanksgiving but Christmas is my favorite time of the year.

I pulled out the Christmas Tree
So I dedicated my entire Sunday to decorating it. As you can tell it's a white tree and it's theme is candy ornaments. I've got everything from doughnuts, ice cream cones, gingerbread men to gum drops and much more on it. I've collected the ornaments over the last few 2-3 years and continue to add more and more each year. I always love how it turns out.
And of course, you can't decorate your Christmas tree without having Christmas movies on the television. I watched Holiday In Handcuffs, Home Alone, All I Want for Christmas and Love Actually.

Now that I've got the tree up, I just have to finish decorating the rest of the room. I also need to work on my Christmas cards and get really busy with Christmas shopping because Christmas is only 64 days away! Can you believe it's that close? I didn't realize it either until I counted it up yesterday. This year really feels like it's flown by (well some parts of it lol). So what's on your shopping list this year? Have a good Monday!

Oh Christmas Tree!

It took me all day yesterday, but I got it done! What started out as this...
Turned into this...
Most of the ornaments resemble candy, cookies and other sugary confections and I love it!

I'm so glad I decided to put it up early this year. Now it can be in photos for Thanksgiving!

The Little Tree that could

Try not to judge too hard... ok? I may or may not still have a Christmas tree up in my house.

Ok, yep.... you caught me! I don't know how it happened, I swear. I was going to take it down the first of the year then I got busy. Then I thought, "Oh I'll take the Christmas decorations off of it and put Valentines Day ones on it." BUT I got busy and that didn't happen either. Instead I've had this Christmas tree looking back at me for months.

In the tree's defense, it is cute and only 3ft tall. Today the tree will come down. I promise!
