Christmas Wish List

It's almost the most wonderful time of the year! It's no secret, I love the holidays and Christmas is my favorite! Since Christmas is only 57 days away, I've decided to share a few of the things I'd love to see under the Christmas tree this year. So without further ado here's a few items on my Christmas wish list...

An Ipad
I'm also a big fan of gift cards this year because there's so much I'd like to buy for the house. Who wouldn't love a gift card to one of these stores....
Cost Plus World Market
Amazon
Target
Hobby Lobby

Then of course besides things for the house, there is the fun stuff like dvds and books that I'd love to get. So I guess we'll just have to wait and see what Santa brings! In all actuality I'm just really glad that I'll be getting to spend the holiday with my family and Josh. I could care less if I got any "stuff".

Weekend In Photos

After a stressful week at work, (I should hear something this week about the interview I did) I decided to chill out and relax over the weekend. Here's my proof...

I kicked off my weekend by treating myself to some In-N-Out Burger. It's just so good!
I also got a package on Saturday from Mom. It was filled with things that I can't find in Sacramento. Apparently, Little Debbie Fudge Rounds, Frito's Mild Cheddar Cheese dip and turkey sticks are a hot commodity around these parts. I can't find them anywhere!
I also got sent a box of Halloween candy which I proceeded to inhale.
The Chocolate truffles are always my favorite! Feel free to send me some anytime!

On Sunday, I got up bright and early and started the day. I got my lawn mowed, the laundry done and cold weather proof sealed a door all before 9:00 a.m. I attribute my productivity to wearing my Save Ferris t-shirt. Best 10.00 dollars ever spent!
I also fixed myself a scrumptious breakfast of maple bacon and scrambled eggs. I've become addicted to maple bacon. It's so good and the smell it leaves behind in the kitchen makes my mouth water! Yum! Go try it if you haven't before.

Then of course, I had to end the weekend with a little Fall/Halloween fun of carving a pumpkin. Sadly he lost some teeth in the carving process. I think he still turned out cute...
Now it's back to the grindstone. Let's get through the work week people!!

A Little Life Recap

I want to say a big thank you to everyone who wished me well on my interview this past Wednesday. I did the interview and I feel good about how I answered their questions. I should know something this upcoming week but I'm not getting my hopes up too high. I heard that 38 people including myself, interviewed for the five open spots. That's not great odds so at this point it's up to fate.

I've been thinking a lot lately about opening my own business but in this economy that's a really big risk. I might start out small with an etsy store and go from there. Basically, it would be crafts but for all seasons. I do a lot of wood crafts if you couldn't tell from my recent, Just Call Me Martha segments on here. There's just so much competition with crafts like that. So I'm mulling that one over.

I'm exhausted about 99% of the time nowadays. Since I've went to morning shift, I can't get a good nights sleep. I usually have to go to bed really early and I wake up about every hour. I just want to sleep through the night! Then I spend 10 hours a day on my feet at work and talking to people a good 80% of the day. By the time comes up to go home all I want to do is go home, eat some food, put on some sweatpants and lay down.

I have four shows that I'm obsessed with watching right now. Every fall tv season, I find some good shows to watch and this year it's these... well one of them is from last year.
Scandal, Revolution, Arrow and Nashville. I am LOVING them! I can never wait till the next week's episode. Those are my shows and I'm sticking with them!

I'm also obsessed with Christmas. Not that it's different from any other year but this year I'm trying to get all of my shopping done early since I'm having to do it over a space of time. Having a mortgage payment is no joke people!!! So I've been trying to buy a few things every week to have it all ready for Christmas! Can't wait for the holiday! Can you tell I'm excited about it because of my excessive use of the exclamation point?

Ok last random, I promise. This past week I decided to open up Theater Thursday as a link up. Someone linked up and that made me really excited! Won't you join in? On Thursday, I'll be doing it again. So grab the button, post a movie you love and then and join in on the fun by linking up!

Theater Thursday

It's Thursday and than can only mean one thing around here... it's Theater Thursday

Each week, I pick a movie thats available on dvd (netflix, amazon, etc) watch it and then come here and review it. In all the years I've been doing Theater Thursday, I try not to repeat the same movies (except at the holidays sometimes) and try to find ones that others would enjoy just as much as I do. So do you have a movie that you've watched and think others should watch to? Yes? Well great! Post about it, grab my TT button and link up!

This week's featured movie is, Hocus Pocus
Hocus Pocus stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as the three Sanderson Sisters. After being gone for 300 years, the Sanderson sisters are brought back to the town of Salem, Massachusetts on Halloween night. A young man named Max (Omri Katz), is visiting a museum that's home to the Sanderson sisters' artifacts. One of the artifacts is said to bring them back from the dead if lit. Max, trying to impress his younger sister, Dani (Thora Birch) and a girl he's smitten with Allison (Vinessa Shaw) decides to light the candle.

The Sanderson sisters appear and begin to reek havoc on the trio and town. However, to stay in the present time, they must gather the soul of a child. The sisters of course want either Dani or Max. The trio must spend their Halloween night fighting the sisters and trying to make sure that they don't get to stay.

If you've never seen this cute, Halloween movie then definitely check it out. It's a classic and has become a favorite over the years. You can usually catch it on television this time of year.

Wish Me Good Luck!

Today is not only another work day, it's the day that I'm interviewing for a really good job at my new work location. Yes, it's still with my current organization but today's interview is for a job that could bring me a better future within it. It's for a supervisor position and with that comes more financial support, better schedules, a better daily work load and much, much more.

At my previous work location, the supervisors who worked there, had been there since almost the beginning of time. So this job had never opened while I was there. The job that's right under it, "lead" had only opened once the entire 3 years that I had been there. So for me to come to this new location in Sacramento and get an interview only two months later makes me thrilled! I'm just hoping that I'm what their looking for and that they'll give me the opportunity to show them that I'm smart, capable and can do the job better than others.

So... CROSS THOSE FINGERS!

Eff, Marry, Kill

This is the first time I've actually been able to link up and participate! I am so excited! For my choices, I'm going with the guys from the movie, 10 Things I Hate About You.

Eff
Andrew Keegan. I mean hello, he was a cutie!
Marry
The late Heath Ledger. He was adorable and it's sad that his life ended so short.
Kill
Joseph Gordon Levitt. There's just something about him that I can't stand.

Weekend Decorating

It's no secret that I love Christmas. Once we hit October it's hard for to contain my excitement about the upcoming holidays. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Halloween and Thanksgiving but Christmas is my favorite time of the year.

I pulled out the Christmas Tree
So I dedicated my entire Sunday to decorating it. As you can tell it's a white tree and it's theme is candy ornaments. I've got everything from doughnuts, ice cream cones, gingerbread men to gum drops and much more on it. I've collected the ornaments over the last few 2-3 years and continue to add more and more each year. I always love how it turns out.
And of course, you can't decorate your Christmas tree without having Christmas movies on the television. I watched Holiday In Handcuffs, Home Alone, All I Want for Christmas and Love Actually.

Now that I've got the tree up, I just have to finish decorating the rest of the room. I also need to work on my Christmas cards and get really busy with Christmas shopping because Christmas is only 64 days away! Can you believe it's that close? I didn't realize it either until I counted it up yesterday. This year really feels like it's flown by (well some parts of it lol). So what's on your shopping list this year? Have a good Monday!

Theater Thursday

It's Thursday and here at Crazy Shenanigans that can only mean one thing... it's Theater Thursday! Each week I pick a movie that I've watched and feature it. About 99% of the time it's something available on dvd to watch, buy, rent or stream. Every now and then I'll throw in a movie that's currently in the Theaters. When I first started doing Theater Thursday's (since I first started blogging in 08), I use to have it as a link up. I stopped because not that many people were posting then linking back up. However, due to recent requests from a few people it's a link up again! Sooo... join in the fun. Link up and post about a movie you love to watch and think others should see too. Grab the button on the sidebar! It's fun!

This week's featured movie is, Honeymoon In Vegas.
Honeymoon In Vegas stars Nicolas Cage as Jack Singer. On Jack's mothers death bed, she makes Jack promise to never get married. Then of course she dies.

Jack (Cage) is scarred and his girlfriend, Betsy (Sarah Jessica Parker) is upset because of his lack of commitment towards her. She wants to get married and Jack doesn't want to go back on his promise to his mother. Finally wearing him down, Betsy and Jack decide to get married and head to Vegas to tie the knot.

Once Jack and Betsy get to Vegas they run into millionaire Tommy Korman (James Caan) who instantly falls in love with Betsy and has to have her. He believes Betsy is the spitting image of Donna, his deceased wife. He lures Jack into a high stakes poker game and during that game Jack becomes 64,000 in debt to him. Tommy, who knows that Jack doesn't have that kind of money decides that Jack can clear his debt to him by letting him spend the weekend with Betsy.

Jack doesn't have too many options so he tells Betsy about the arrangement and she agrees to get Jack out of trouble. From the moment Betsy starts the weekend with Tommy, Tommy has no intention of ever letting her go back to Jack. He decides to show her everything he can give her. Will Jack and Betsy make it to the alter? Watch!

Just Call Me Martha

The crafting bug has struck again! Incase you missed any of my previous additions of Just Call Me Martha, you can find them here .

Since Christmas is just around the corner I decided to get a head start on my decorations and try something that I saw on Pinterest...
Christmas is my favorite time of the year and with just buying a new home, I've got more wall space to fill. This sign is made out of wooden letters and I figured it wouldn't be too hard to create.

Supplies you'll need:
Wood Letters
Red Craft Paint
Black Craft Paint
Brushes
Glue

The finished product:
For some reason the red paint looks a lot brighter on mine but that's just the photo. In person it turned out really good. I think it looks almost like the one from Pinterest! The whole thing only took about two hours to make. The hardest part was waiting for the glue to dry so I could see how it was going to hang on the wall.

Like this craft but don't have time to make it yourself? I can do it for you! For a small nominal fee of course. Prices always include shipping so E-mail me at: jmomiller@gmail.com or tweet me @jmomiller

Arm/Wrist Candy

Have I mentioned I'm addicted to using Instagram? Well I am! You should follow me: Jmomiller (there's a handy little button on the left that'll take you right there).

I always enjoy posting my shenanigans. Usually, you'll see my travels, food, accessories, decorating and more. Lately I have been obsessed with posting my daily arm/wrist candy. Incase you don't know what that is, here's a handy (no pun intended) definition for you:

Wrist CandyUnnecessary wrist and/or arm decorations worn by all. Throw back to friendship bracelets. It is recommended to be toppled over watches, chains and other adornments; the more the better.

Here's some of my wrist candy that I've posted...
I think it's fun to make combinations and show them off. I think I'll keep posting them for as long as I have the bracelets to do it! Then I'll have to move on to my ring collections. So do you have wrist candy you like to show off?
