Stitch Fix

You know how everyone raves about Birchbox? The $10.00 boxes that come once a month filled with samples of make up, nail polish, lotions etc. Well if you think those are fabulous, get ready to be rocked out of your seat...
Meet Stitch Fix
Stitch Fix is a clothing and accessories service that comes in the mail once a month (or more if you want it to) and is filled with tops, bottoms, jewelry and more. You never know what's going to be in your shipment! When I first heard about Stitch Fix , I was a little hesitant. I usually have to be in the stores and trying it on to see if it's going to work out for me and fit. I got my first shipment from Stitch Fix and was pleasantly surprised!

For only $20.00 a shipment, you receive around 4-6 items in the mail. Try them on over the weekend and decide what you like. If there's something in your shipment that doesn't fit or you just don't like, come Monday ship it back in their pre-paid, free shipping bag and be done with it!
For anything in your shipment that you like and want to keep, the 20.00 dollars you paid for the shipment goes towards the final price of what you decide to keep. Now... how much are the items in your shipment? That's the best! You get to decide your price point. Say you like and want 20.00 tops and not 75.00 ones? Well guess what?! You tell them that up front and they find price point items for you!

My shipment included two tops, a necklace, a shaw and a dress. Out of all the items, I really loved the dress so I kept it. With the credit of getting a shipment, it was only $30.00. I was so excited! It's something I've never seen in the stores and fit me perfectly.

So get on the site  and check them out! They walk you through sizing, styles, outfit choices, colors, etc! They make sure that you get stuff that you love! So if you loving getting things in the mail and fashion then this is right up your alley! Check it out!

And guess what?! The people from Stitch Fix didn't compensate me or even ask me to post about their company. I decided to all on my own!

Theater Thursday

It's Thursday and that can only mean... it's Theater Thursday! This week's featured movie is, My Chauffeur.
My Chauffeur (1986) is all about a woman in a man's world. Casey Meadows (Deborah Foreman) has broken into an all time man's world: The Brentwood Limousine Service. Casey is determined to make it in her new job as a driver. The old men of the company and even the clients are surprised and not all together thrilled that a woman is behind the wheel.

Casey is out to prove them all wrong and that she's equipped just like the men to be a driver. She's put to the test with her clients but her client Sam Jones is the real test. Unknown to Casey she's driving around the Brentwood Limousine Service Owner's son. She thinks that Sam is just another rich guy who's hired her for the day.

When their drive goes wrong to the car overheated their stuck out in the middle of no where and have to learn to like each other. Sam is all about business and Casey is about having a little fun. If you've never seen this great 80's movie, give it a try! It's funny!

Three Hundred and Seventy Six

376
What's that number you ask? Oh that would be the number of days I've been sitting on the transfer list.

Bitter. Nah! Not at all. Ok... fine, maybe a little bit. BUT there's a little bit of good news. I'm now sitting at number one on the wait list. Which means the next spot that opens is mine. All mine (think my precious, my precious because I'm to that point lol)! Another good spot of news is that I'm still waiting to hear about that giant promotion.

I'm still hoping for good news and crossing my fingers! I take it day to day. Hopefully, I'll hear good news soon. Until then, I'm keeping the faith and just hoping for the best.

The biggest necklace I've ever seen.

So I might be the last person to still watch this show, but every week we watch Celebrity Apprentice.
Maybe it's because I watch and wait to see if his hair piece falls off. I also like it when the celebrities get at each other's throats and start fighting. It's pretty awesome. I still remember the huge fight that Meatloaf got into with Gary Busey! lol

Anyways, this season is NOT disappointing and in this past week's episode, I fell in love with something I saw on the show. This necklace...
Even though it's Aubrey O'Day.. (from Danity Kane), that necklace is so amazing!!

Isn't it amazing!?! It's a Red Coral Flower Charles Albert Necklace. I have no idea how much it really is but I suspect a lot. I want it! I haven't even seen any kind of knock offs for it. If you see one let me know. Charming Charlie's better get on that. Just incase you can't see how it looks here's a full photo of it...
I know it's huge but that's what a statement piece is. It makes a statement. I'm poor though and would never be able to pay the huge price tag to only be able to wear it a handful of times. So I'll continue to lust after this necklace and crossing my fingers on winning the lottery. Ha!

May the Odds Be Ever in your Favor

Yay! I never thought this day was finally going to arrive. I've been waiting ever since they announced that there was going to be a movie.

When the book, The Hunger Games came out, I read it in a day. Then I went and got the 2nd and 3rd books and read them within the week. I loved the series and can't wait for the movie. I'm really hoping it lives up the hype and the book. I have a feeling that it's going to be great (from the previews) and that they'll end up making the other two books into films.

So who else is going to see it today? PS: I'm totally Team Peeta!

Theater Thursday

It's Thursday and that can only mean one thing! It's Theater Thursday! This week's featured movie is one that still scares me every time I watch it.... Fear!
I know it's not really a scary movie but when Mark Wahlberg gives himself a jail house tattoo even though he's not in jail and in such crude letters.... It scares me! He was scary creepy!!

If you've never seen Fear, it follows Nicole (Reese Witherspoon), a high school student living in Washington with her father and step mother. Her dad is a little controlling and likes to know where she is  most of the time. One night, Nicole goes out with her friend Margo (Alyssa Milano) who's a little more daring and rule breaking than her. Margo, introduces Nicole to her new "boyfriend" and he has a friend named, David (Mark Wahlberg).

David and Nicole hit it off and begin hanging out. David seems like a good young man and someone to trust. Then the other shoe drops when Nicole realizes that he's very jealous and controlling of everyone else that's in her life. He even becomes to jealous of one of her male friends that he beats him up. Nicole realizes that David is off his rockers and tries to seperate her life from him. BUT David has other ideas than that.

What's that smell?

A few weeks ago, I ran out of make up primer.
I had been using Spakle by Laura Geller in bronze and it was awesome. It went on my skin really easily, didn't have a smell and kept my make up on really well all day. I used that entire tube and headed off to Sephora to pick up another bottle.

#fail

Turns out Sephora doesn't sell that brand and I'd have to order it online. Trouble was that I needed a primer right then. I go all day at work and don't really have time to be touching up my make up while I'm there. When I use a primer, I've noticed that I make it through the day without my face looking like I've rubbed off all my foundation. So when I realized they didn't have my beloved primer, I knew I was going to have to go with something for in the meantime. That's where this came in...
The Sephora brand, facial primer in luminous. It was a good amount for a cheap price and I figured it would last a week or two before I had to bite the bullet and order my other one online for a giant price.

I start to use it and day 1 no big deal. Day 2, I started to use it and realized it took a little bit more than normal to cover my face. Day 3, I realized that I had been smelling something the past few days that was weird. Kinda a chemical smell. Then I realized it, it was the primer. The bad part about it, the smell was lasting a few hours after I was putting it on. And friends let me just tell you. It smells like complete ass.

I mean for real. I have half a bottle of this thing and I don't know if I can continue putting it all over my face. I would take it back to Sephora but I'm one of those people you won't take used products back. I feel like that's taking a bite out of a sandwich, taking it back and saying, "Oh I changed my mind."

Has anyone else ever bought a product and it had a horrible smell? Any suggestions for an oil free, sensitive skin primer that doesn't cost a small fortune for it?

Theater Thursday

It's Thursday and that can only mean one thing around these parts... it's Theater Thursday! This week's featured movie is, Footloose! The new one!
Now before everyone goes all crazy on me let me just say that, no remake can ever beat the original. No matter how hard they may have tried the new version of Footloose does not beat the classic. I mean come on... Kevin Bacon doing gymnastics, fake glitter, velvet tux jackets. They all help make the original outshine any remakes. However....

The new footloose was pretty good. The new Willard was really funny and in my opinion helped carry the entire film. I also liked the updated chicken race and I thought that Julianna Hough was a really good Ariel. So if you get the chance check it out! Compare it to the original and see what you think! No matter what you'll have the song Footloose stuck in your head for a few hours afterwards.

Twenty Four

How did I miss this show when it was originally on television?!? I got season 1 as a Christmas gift and this past week just got around to watching it. Oh my goodness! It's so good! I can't believe I missed it all the years that it was originally on tv.

I'm about 9 episodes into the first season and I am loving it. I can't predict what's going to happen (which is always a good thing) and um.... Kiefer Sutherland is one good looking man! Now I'll never look at the All State commercial guy the same again (he played Palmer a Presidential candidate on 24).

Have any of you watched the show? Does it keep getting better and better? I know that it went for quite a few seasons so it had to be somewhat good in the ratings to last that many seasons. I think I should go ahead and order season 2!!

Theater Thursday

It's Theater Thursday! This week's featured movie is the somewhat controversial... Northern Lights
This Lifetime original movie was stirring up drama before it ever hit the small screen. The movie was overshadowed by the fact that the two main stars Eddie Cibrian and Leann Rimes began having extramarital affairs while filming this film. However....

Northern Lights is a really good film. It takes place in Lunacy, Alaska and Lunacy has a new sheriff in town, Nate (Eddie Cibrian). Nate has came all the way from Baltimore Maryland to be the towns new sheriff and has arrived on New Years Eve. Almost from the moment he lands in Alaska he's put to the test of being the towns new man in charge. He soon meets Meg (Leann Rimes).
Meg is one of the towns two pilots. When two kids go missing on a mountain climb they head out to find them together. Once they find the kids, they discover Meg's father who went missing and was thought to have just abandoned his family 15 years prior. Now with a murder investigation in full swing, the new man in town is having to find a killer that's been hiding for over a decade in plain sight for over a decade in Lunacy.

The movie is actual really good and based on the Nora Roberts book. Check it out!

Turning off the Noise.

Last year I read Bethenny Frankel's book called, A Place of Yes
I read it mainly because I liked Bethenny from watching The Real Housewives and her spin off show. She had become this widely successful woman and I wanted to see what she had to say. I read the book and I thought it was pretty good. The thing that stuck with me the most though was what she likes to call "noise".

Everyone has noise. Some have noise in different ways and some like me have more than just one noise. I have a lot of money noise. I am constantly trying to pay off debt, pay my bills, pay for things in my daily life and at the same time try to save money. By the time my next pay check comes, I've already figured out where every penny has to go. It gets old really quick but I know that being debt free one day will be amazing! Hello to no car payments! Can't wait! I've made that choice. I've said yes, to paying off debt.

Sometimes I have relationship noise. There's always going to be someone out there with an opinion who voices it unsolicited. There's always going to be jealous, bitter people who want nothing more than to see others just as unhappy as they are. That's when you have to STOP and tell yourself that it doesn't matter what others think, say or do. It's not their relationship.

Daily I have career noise. Do I want to keep working day in and day out in the exact same career spot that I'm at now? Um.... no! So I give myself an ulcer hoping and wondering if and when I'm going to transfer and if I'm going to get this promotional position that I've wanted since December. Again, people love to tear you down when they think their unhappy with themselves and how their own lives are going. I just remind myself that I'm young and that I'm not stuck anywhere.

Some days I don't have any noise at all. Then there's the days that career noise or relationship noise comes out rearing it's ugly head. It's in those moments that I take a deep breath and remember that it's my life and I'm saying YES to the decisions that I've made for it. Does anyone else go through this?

Theater Thursday

This week's Theater Thursday is a first. This week's featured movie is the documentary, The September Issue. This is the first documentary to be featured on Theater Thursday and I think it's a good one!
The September Issue is a documentary that follows the course of Vogue Magazine compiling their articles, photographs and celebrities covers for their famous September issue. The documentary also follows the daily life of the Vogue editor in chief, Anna Wintour.
If you didn't know, Merryl Streep's performance in The Devil Wears Prada was loosely based on Anna Wintour.

The documentary also follows the daily lives of other Vogue contributors doing their part to getting the issue ready and showing how much work really goes into all of the photo shoots. It's really fascinating to see how much time goes into picking out exactly what photographs are Vogue worthy and how the issue becomes bigger and better each year.

If you've never seen The September Issue then I recommend seeing it. It's available on instant watch right now on Netflix and available on amazon.
