Mele Kalikimaka

One of my favorite Christmas trees to put up is my Beach tree.

When I moved to California, I wanted to start a beach themed Christmas tree. It seemed very fitting because of my location and the fact that it's maybe a love of 50 degrees on Christmas. I started collecting the ornaments and even ordered a blue tree. Once it all came together I loved how it turned out. I keep adding a few ornaments every year and now it's in it's third year of getting put up. This year I'm hoping to add a few new ornaments to it before the season ends. This is how my tree looks this year.

Do you have a beach themed tree? If so let me know and share the photos!

Christmas Beach Tree

I love decorating for the Christmas holiday. It's my favorite time of the year and I go all out. I don't just put up one tree, I put up many trees. Last year I think the house had 5 trees and almost one in every room. A few years ago, I decided to add a theme tree to my collection and I bought a blue tree for a beach theme. What you see now is a labor of love for the past two years on hunting out the perfect decorations for my California Beach Christmas Tree.

These are just come of the ornaments on my Christmas Beach tree. For other photos of my beach tree check out one of my previous posts. If you've missed any of my Christmas In July posts you can catch up here.

Weekend Review

This past weekend started with a real bang. Friday night, I get home from work and Beezy had fixed my favorite dinner... Fettuccini Alfredo. I was very happy and ate way more than I should have. After dinner, I went into our bathroom that's off the master. The bedroom is set up a little odd because the wall that has our television doesn't have any power outlets so we had an extension cord plugged in that had yet to be put under the carpet. Silly me. I come out of the bathroom, flip the light out and my eyes hadn't adjusted. Needless to say, my foot got caught in the cord, I tripped and hit the ground. Now this is where it gets really interesting.

The next thing I know Beezy is on top of me touching my face trying to wake me up. Apparently, when I fell my head hit the end of the bed and I knocked myself out. Yep. Out cold! So when he heard the thump of me hitting the ground he didn't know what the noise was. He comes to the bedroom which is completely dark and finds me face down in the carpet. To say he was freaked out is an understatement. When I went down my knee apparently took a major hit cause it was very red and swollen. We even had to ice it.

After all of the excitement Friday night, Saturday was a breeze! I did wake up feeling very sore. I took it easy in the morning and sat down to take down the last of our Christmas decorations. I had taken everything down except our last tree, the Beach tree. Sadly, we wont get to see it again till next year. I'm pretty for sure Tesco was sad to see it come down because he loved sitting under and beside them.

We also went to his cousin's house and he played poker. Their kids have two tropical pet turtles that I'm obsessed with. I think they are the cutest little things! His cousin's wife was showing me everything they have to do for their glass case they live in and it's a ton of work! Because their tropical they have to keep it hot and humid so they have to spray it with water twice a day. They have to turn the lights off and on twice a day because they have differentiate night and day etc. It was a lot! I still think their super cute. I want one...

On Sunday, I went out and found my engagement party outfit! I was lucky enough to find a dress and shoes literally within 5 minutes of each other. I don't want to share my dress until the party but check out the shoes that I got to go with it...
Now it's back to another week of work!

The Beach Tree

If you've been following for awhile now, then you already know that I am crazy for Christmas. It is by far my most favorite time of the year. I've loved it since I was a kid and the love has grown over the years. When I became an adult, I started collecting ornaments and Christmas trees. I knew that one day I'd have the room to display all of them. I set out just buying ornaments that I really liked. Then I decided I wanted a candy tree. So I collected those ornaments, then I wanted a beach theme tree and then a movie theme tree. With every theme that was chosen, I would search out the ornaments and have so much joy getting them. Each tree is a labor of love. A love of the theme and a love of Christmas!

This is my beach theme tree...

I started this tree last year and I spent a few months leading up to Christmas searching for the ornaments. I found some after last year so there is quite a few new ornaments on there for this year.
First we have the tree topper. It's a light house. I found this little gem in a Christmas store in Pigeon Forge last year when I was visiting my mom. It's actually a figurine for a Christmas Beach village. However the lighthouse was hollow so I put it right down on the tree.

I've got three extra set of lights on this tree. One set is the hula girls dancing. The second set is the flamingos and the third is seashells.
Anyone need some clams? Or how about a Santa scuba diving?

Scuba Santa found a treasure all right. He found one full of Christmas bells and telling everyone to have a Cool Yule!

Then there's the glass octopus. I got this ornament in Sacramento and the famous Dorthea's in Folsom. I thought the price tag said $12.00. Too bad it was $22.00. He's got a good home though!

This one was a new addition. I got the swordfish this year. I was strolling around Khols with Beezy's mom and stumbled upon this beauty! I also found a palm tree that's new on the tree too.
Need a drink? There's three different little, fun drinks spread out on the tree. We've got this one, a martini and another fruit drink.

This ornament I got before I even had the idea of a beach tree. The Fabulous Annie who use to blog from Hawaii sent me this in a care package from Hawaii.
Then we have the lobster. He spends his time searching for his lobster on the top of the tree.

This Santa is spending his time getting buried in the sand...

I have three different color star fish on tree. Here we've got white. I also have peach and green. They are spread out and add more color to the blue tree. I found these beauties last year and this year at Cost World Market. They didn't have white last year and this year they do! I saw it and knew I had to add them.

That's just a little bit of the ornaments on the beach tree.

Everyone Loves a Good Theme

I love Christmas.
I love Christmas trees.
I love Christmas decorations.

Christmas gets closer each day.
I have a candy theme Christmas tree.
I have a movie theme Christmas tree.

Now I have a beach theme Christmas tree.

I got this tree from Treetopia. When I knew I wanted to start a beach theme Christmas tree, I started looking for the perfect blue tree. Since I was familiar with them, I went to their website and scoured it looking for the perfect shade. When I was scrolling through their site I saw this one. I knew instantly it would look perfect! It's called the Smurftastic blue tree. I got the slim five foot. It came pre-lit with white lights. I of course added the sea shell, flamingo and hula girl lights. I also used white, glitter netting that looks like it's fish netting. I finished it off with a burlap tree skirt.
Then came the hardest part. Finding all of the ornaments. When I first moved here, my mom discovered a Christmas store over in Folsom for me. I've been there numerous times now and they had a great selection of beach/sea ornaments. Plus there's the ever great Hobby Lobby. I also used my favorite Christmas store in Tennessee via the website... A Christmas Place. Now I have a good bit of ornaments on it but of course I feel I could add more. There is always room for more...
So there you have it! My new theme tree is up! It's here to stay!
