It's Getting Hot Out Here

First of all... big shout out to my good friend Cara.
We met in college and pledged the same sorority, in fact I was Cara's big sister. Sadly, when she graduated college it was time for her to head back to Texas and now I don't get much Cara time. Yesterday I got to talk to her and she mentioned she's been reading my blog. Well what do I do when I know my IRL (in real life) friends are reading? Give them a shout out!

Miss you Cara!!! I hope we get to see each other soon!

In other news, summer is here and I bought a pool.
(of course mine isn't this big nor did I build a deck)

Yep, you read that right. Even though I'm moving, I went ahead and bought a pool. I don't know where you live but it's hot here. Like real hot. Which I'm not complaining one bit about because it's way better than all that rain we dealt with non.stop.for.months. However, I want to cool down and get tan the natural way. So it's pool time.

Speaking of moving... I get the question about 30 times a day. When will I be moving? I will hopefully be moving at the end of August. That's all I can say right now but I promise to keep you all updated.

Now I have to go out and run errands early so I can get me a full day of fun in the sun!!! Have a wonderful weekend everyone. I've got tons of vacation plans to fill you all in on come Monday!

The Clock is Ticking

This weekend felt like a whirl wind. It went by so fast, I feel like the clock is set on fast forward the time just keeps flying by!

Operation tan went strong over the weekend. I've went everyday and I've got 2 more day of it. I'm starting to see a little bit of a difference so at least it's something! If you're looking for a good product for outside tanning, try Banana Boat Tanning Oil. It's great! I use the yellow cap bottle and it shows results fast.
Sunday was my last day at work! Now I've got the next 17 days to see and hang out with friends, go on vacation to California and head to New Mexico. I am SO excited for these next few weeks, it's going to be crazy busy for sure. Oh, have I mentioned that while I'm in California I'll be meeting up with and having dinner with someone super talented & famous?

Evan Lysacek, Olympic gold medalist and currently in the final 4 of Dancing with the Stars. The first night I get into Los Angeles we'll be having dinner together. SO SO SO excited. There will be major picture posting on twitter that night and then once here when I get home.

I've only got 2 more days to get everything packed and ready to go. Can I be honest? I don't have anything ready for vacation. There's stuff I still need to go pick up, clothes to be washed and folded, luggage to be brought out and tons more stuff. I really hope I can get it all done. I'm feeling the anxiety/stress level slowly rise as I get behind with my to-do list.

While I'm gone, expect a few scheduled posts, including a giveaway! I haven't decided if I'm going to take my computer. I know the Roosevelt Hotel has internet in the rooms but I just don't know if I want the hassle of carrying it yet. Happy Monday!

Four Subjects

Hair. Shoes. Shopping. Appearance
After days of talking about getting my hair done, finally here's a photo. It's from my phone and it was right as I was leaving the salon. I had it colored and long layers put in. Maybe one day I'll actually take a photo of the back. Haha!
Ok, let's talk shoes. Apparently the IT shoe of the season is a nude/tan high heel. Well I have a dress that I'm taking to wear while in California and that color shoe is what needs to be worn with it. For the last month and a half, I've looked every where for a pair. Every.Single.Store was SOLD OUT. I then went online and every online store was also sold out in my size. Boo!

Finally this week, while I was out shopping with my friend Erica I found the most amazing pair. They were the last ones and being used as the display. I tried them on... they were half a size too big. So... we hit up one last store and by this point I was desperate. I told Erica, "If they have anything in the nude color, I'm taking them." Well my friends we walk in there and they have a tan pair of heels, on sale, on display and the last ones in my size. Not exactly what I was going for but they'll work. What do you think?

I'm not completely in love with them but they're cute. Now I just need to buy a new beach towel, another bathing suit and pack for the trip! So much to do, so little time! I'm starting to stress a little bit! Thankfully, the day before we leave, I'm going to be able to hit up one of my favorite stores Forever 21 and hopefully find some great last minute tops to wear.

Operation Tan is in full swing and after two days of tanning, getting a shade darker concealer and a new bronzer one of my co-workers committed that I was looking a little tanner. Well hallelujah! Maybe there's still hope! Maybe I won't be going to California looking like Casper after all. 4 more days of tanning to go...

My Brain has turned to mush...

First of all, thank you all so much for the well wishes and good luck comments on yesterdays election volunteering. When I arrived home last night, it was so sweet to see my inbox flooded with nice comments. Unfortunately my brain still feels like mush from seeing all those names yesterday, so it's a bullet post day!

-As for the job of being a poll clerk yesterday, it was fun but exhausting. I had to report to the polls by 5:30am. Since I'm a night person I didn't end up falling asleep until around 1am and with having to get up at 4:30am. I didn't even get 4 hours of sleep, then I had to work till 7:30pm. Basically, I worked for 14 hours on no sleep. The hardest part about it though was that the room was freezing! I was so cold and all I wanted to do was get warm or turn the heat on, but that's nothing new... I'm always cold.

-Today, Operation Tan is in full force. I've only got 7, technically 6 more days to get a tan before heading to California. Ekk, I'm down to the wire.

-Since my vacation is coming up, I thought of doing a giveaway. Then I noticed that my 350 post will happen very, very soon so that sealed the idea. Next week before I leave for vacation, I will be hosting a fabulous giveaway with tons of cute stuff in it. So make sure you check back!

-Question: Have you ever done something that you weren't sure about and then worried the entire time what the outcome will be? I may or may not have made a decision and now I'm worried about what the outcome will be. Maybe I'll post about it tomorrow and ask for advice. Ekk.

-And yes I know I promised all of you a picture of my new hair. Since I'm still laying in bed... it'll also have to wait till tomorrow. I did post one on twitter the other day @jmomiller

Don't worry, I'll return tomorrow and the bullets will not.
