Severe Clear

The fourth book in my 2013 reading quest is Severe Clear.

 

I have been a fan of author Stuart Woods since my early teenage years. I wasn't big into reading growing up but when I was around 13 or 14 years old, I came across one of his books. I don't even know how it came into my possession but it was called Choke. From then on out, I have read every Stuart Woods book. I also own his entire collection as well. He's written more than 50 books and I have never been disappointed in one. 

Severe Clear follows Stone Barrington, a New York City police detective turned lawyer on his latest adventure. This time Stone and his ex partner Dino are taking their sons out to Los Angeles to celebrate the opening of the hotel Arrington. The hotel is honoring the lost life of Stone's late wife Arrington Calder Barrington. 

Having acquired a large amount of wealth and property before her untimely death in part to her previous husband and movie star Vance Calder, Arrington had set in motion the plans for a luxury hotel to be built in Beverly Hills. After she was killed Stone made sure that those plans went forward to honor her memory and continue to build the legacy for their son Peter. Peter who wants to break into show business has already directed and written one blockbuster hit all under the age of 18. 

However, once the group arrives in L.A. they discover things are not what they seem. Someone out there in the world plans to destroy the opening weekend of The Arrington and possibly destroy the city as well. Stone finds himself against the clock to save everyone he cares about the legacy of Arrington. 

If you love mystery and fiction then give Stuart Woods a try. I do suggest starting at the beginning of the Stone Barrington Series which I believe the first book is, New York Dead.

Busy Little Bee

It's February!

Today is February 1st and that means it's the month of LOVE!

Valentines Day supplies are filling up the stores. People are making plans with the ones that they love to celebrate Saint Valentines Day. The weather isn't as bitterly cold as it's been and spring is right around the corner. Bright pinks and reds fill up the decor isles of Michaels and Hobby Lobby. This is a happy time...

I'm pretty for sure a lot of this will be going on out in the world... if you get the drift...

However, my Valentines Day won't be any of that. I'll be spending the day working. Then I'll come home and watch a little television, maybe read and then go to bed. Yep. Exciting stuff folks. That's what happens when your relationship is currently long distance. Josh still isn't living in California yet. We've been hoping for months now... six to be exact that he'd be able to come soon. We are still hoping that. Luckily, I was able to go back to West Virginia for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. 

Now that Valentines Day is fast approaching, I guess I'm just a little blue. Technically it's just a money endorsed holiday but still. I don't want us to miss any holidays together. We've been together since June 2011 and we've never spent this much time apart, let alone holidays. It's been harder than I thought but we've been getting through it. Here's hoping he can be here by Saint Patrick's Day or before! 

So while you spend this month with the people that you love, remember your single and long distance people need a little love too! lol There is always arts and crafts.....
