Theater Thursday

It's Thursday and that can only mean one thing... it's Theater Thursday! This week's featured movie is, Last Vegas.

Last Vegas stars four legends in acting: Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Kline. They are four old friends who are reuniting in Las Vegas because the last single man, the bachelor of their group is finally getting married after waiting 70 years. To get to Vegas together it's going to take a lot for each one. Morgan Freeman has to tell his younger son that he's going on a church retreat. Kevin Kline's wife sends him off with a condom and tells him she knows he's unhappy living in Florida. Then there's De Niro who is grieving the death of his wife and refuses to leave his Brooklyn apartment. Two men will have to go there and try to drag him out to get him to Vegas.

Then there's the soon to be groom... Michael Douglas. He's coming to Vegas to have fun with his buddies before marrying his 32 year old bride. He's going to leave his luxurious home in Los Angeles and make the short trip to Vegas. He plans to have fun reuniting with his childhood friends.

While their in Vegas they'll deal with some issues that they've pushed to the side for awhile. They'll also poke fun at themselves for being older now and in town for a bachelor party. They make jokes on their age. They make jokes on their declining health and the medicines that they have to program their watches now instead of drinking times.

If you like any of these actors, you'll like this movie. It's funny but it's also a really good movie about friendships that last a lifetime and that friends help each other through everything.
