Friends & iphones

First of all have you entered my giveaway

Yesterday, I was able to meet up with my friend Miranda from Hangin Loose with the Tucci's. Thankfully, our crazy schedules allowed us to meet up for some early morning Starbucks. She's moving to Hawaii in mere days... lucky lady! I couldn't be anymore happier for you. We've been friends for a long time and I'm so glad to see you happy and getting everything you deserve out of life. I hope we'll get to see each other soon.

Now, with that said, today, marks the day that I am finally able to upgrade my current phone which is a Samsung Propel

to an iPhone without having to pay 3483498 dollars for the upgrade. So to iphone or not to iphone? That is the question.

For months, I've been so excited for this but recently, I've began to wonder if I'll like it. A ton of my friends have one and most of my co-workers do as well. I think the only thing that's really stopping me from rushing to the store is the fact that it doesn't have a keypad with genuine keys there. I've always had that.

I'm big on texting and I've seen how they look like an IM. Not gonna lie... not too impressed. I've also tried out the keyboard for texting and I found it very hard to use. People keep telling me I'll get use to it, but I don't know... I'm not convinced.

What's really drawing me in though, is the apps. I've used a ton of them via friend's iphone and they are awesome! I could sit for hours just using the phone and going through different applications.

So.... help me make the decision. Do you iphone? What do you hate or love about it the most? If you have one, what's your favorite application?

I agree with you....I LOVE a good keyboard on a phone. First, I must state that I do not have an iPhone. When searching for a new phone a few months ago, it was between two LG phones. Both were touch screen, however, one also had an actual keyboard. The salesman tired his hardest to talk me into the one with only the touch screen....he said the keyboard was "training wheels". (I must mention, there was only a $10 difference between the two). I decided to go with the one that had the touch screen AND the keyboard....and I must say, I'm VERY happy with my decision! :-)

I didn't want to get an iPhone because I thought it would be difficult to type on & I know many people have told you this, but I was used to it in 1 or 2 days.

I say do it! & you always have like, 30 days to return it if you don't like it!

I didn't want an iphone for the reasons you mentioned (texting, etc) and then I wanted one for apps. I'm still not sold, so I have a blackberry, but here, blackberry's are much more popular and not $1000 like iPhones (plus apps don't work here, you see my dilemma) :) They ARE pretty cool though...sorry I'm no help!

I don't have an iPhone because we have Verizon but I do have a touch screen. You will get used to it. I wasn't sure about it at first either but now I love it.

I'm counting down to my upgrade date (June 24th) and I fully intend to get an Iphone - my husband has one, and I hated it at first, but when we're traveling around I like to play with it. It's taken me a while, but I've fallen in love with it! It all comes down to the features you want - and you will get used to the touchscreen keyboard. I have, and I only use his to play every now and then. I like your current phone!!! LOVE GREEN!

I agree about the keyboard, and I have heard some not great things about the battery life. But I have been pondering this as well!

My husband and I both have iPhones and they are awesome. We've had ours for about 18 months, haven't had a single problem out of them, and we LOVE them! I would definitely recommend getting one!

I have issues with touchscreens - they're great for other people but not for me. The fingerprints drive me crazy, which is one of the reasons I haven't gone iphone. I'm with you on the apps - they're pretty amazing!

I kept saying that I did not want an iPhone. I had a Blackberry and loved it, until the turnwell thing broke off. Then I couldn't use it! BOO!! I looked at getting another Blackberry, but the iPhone was cheaper. I got it at Walmart. Actually, David got it for me for Christmas. I am so rough on phones and the iPhone has been the most durable for me. Which is hard to believe b/c everyone told me how easy they are to break. You get used to no keypad. I had always had a keypad too. I actually love how the texts are set up. At first it was weird, but I LOVE it now!! I would always get a reply from a text I sent hours ago and would forget what I would ask and then have to find the sent text. That isn't the case with the iPhone. I also love having my iPod all in one! So now on long trips, I do not have to have a phone and iPod plugged in. My husband is dying to get one now and he is an AVID Blackberry user. It is all up to what you want thought. Good luck with your choice!!

I am a blackberry girl =D BUT the bf does have an iphone and his favorite app is Scrabble! He says he likes it but it is annoying to text and it dies fast BUT charges fast too! Good Luck with your decision =D

God I am so behind on blogs! Kelsey had a phone with the touch keyboard and he actually didn't like it. I hated it. I could never get the right letters touched. That's why the iphone doesn't really appeal to me, although i like the applications and all that.the droid has the same kind of applications and i think some phones w/ actual keys!

I love my iPhone, and I'll just "ditto" what everyone else has said...you will definitely get used to the touch screen. If that is the only thing stopping you, then, girl!!! GO FOR IT! :) You will love, love, LOVE it!

I hated touch screens, but I wanted the iphone so... I got one a few months ago. I love it. I will admit my texts are sometimes indecipherable and my friends will "LOL" and I'll have to clarify, but it's nothing too bad. :)

my old phone was a samsung propel & I loved it... I bought my boyfriend the iphone and he didn't really want it when I got it but now he says he can't go back...

He plays with that phone more than he does with mem HA! I can get one but have decided not to.

He has tried to get me to, but with my upgrade I got a samsung flight... its touch screen & full keyboard... it does the job for me.

It took me foreverrrrrr to decide on a new cell phone this year. I decided I don't like touch screens but my friends have iphones and they seem really cool.

I love Blackberries. They're my favorite. Which makes me sad because I broke mine and I'm stuck with a piece of junk Nokia. Grr.

I LOVE MY IPHONE! I didn't want one when they first came out because I liked my Blackberry too much, but Shelby finally talked me into getting one, and now I can't live without it. ha ha :-)

ummm.... hey- if you're getting an iphone for CHEAP you just go ahead and take advantage of that and if (for whatever reason) you decide you don't want it you send that lil beauty my way!!! ;)

thats all i have to say about that....

I don't know how i LIVED without my iphone before I got it last year. I use it for SO much more than talking/texting, and yes the keyboard thingy takes some getting used to, but you do get used to it!

Paige said...

I was really unsure when I got mine cause I have a bad shake and I thought the touch screen keyboard would be too hard to use. But I love my iPhone. I will warn you that reception is tough though. They drop calls like mad.

THERE IS NO QUESTION: iPHONE!!!!!!!!

It is the best phone ever! I had a Black Berry and the iPhone kicks its butt daily!

Girl, so glad you think the same way. I've always been a keyboard person so having used my friend's iPhone I had a hard time at first, and even though I got used to it in a few days/weeks...this is one thing that bothers me about the iPhone. So I'm not sure whether or not to get one either. Another thing, I love my text announcement to be unique and my friend said I couldn't change that sound. Ridiculous I know. Just another thing that bugs me. Hmmm...but yes, when it comes to the apps...I'm all for the iPhone!!!

Let me know what you decide and all. Wanna know what you think, since reading this post I know we're in the same "dilemma". ;)

Have a great day.

xoxo

You could get a phone that can gets apps and has a keyboard? That would be the best both, eh! I know the g1 is like that, my brother really liked his. It's time for me to upgrade too and I just can't decide.
