Theater Thursday

Continuing with the January theme of great 90's movies, it's Theater Thursday! This week's featured movie is, The Truman Show
Truman (Jim Carrey) is a major celebrity. There's only one problem... he doesn't know it. Truman has lived his entire life in front of the cameras, on television, live 24/7. Truman was born in front of the cameras and his life has been the entertainment for everyone who tunes into watch.

The producer Christof (Ed Harris) of his life and one of the people who controls, the contained world that Truman lives in, is starting to have some trouble keeping Truman contained in the world they created especially for him. After and incident, in which the man who played Truman's father comes back into life after his supposed death, Truman begins to question all of the things that go on around him.

As the people in his life, his wife Meryl (Laura Linney) and his best friends begin to realize that if the truth comes out they'll no longer be on tv. They try to help contain Truman and subdue his fears. But as we've all learned... The truth will always come to light.

Yes, the truth will always come to light. I loved this movie...as weird as it might have been (sometimes - really, growing up and living like that is horrible)...I loved it. So many messages...so many stories told.

Oooh! Great feature! I LOVE this movie! For the longest time after I saw this, I was always looking for cameras, wondering, am I on TV right now?
