It's About Television & Netflix

This past week I spent a lot of time boxing things up, spending time in the pool and watching television. I have this weird obsession with anytime I get a new dvd, I won't put it on my dvd shelf until I've watched it. So literally right now with everything going on (preparing to move 2600 miles away), I've become a little behind in watching dvds.

It would be easy if it's just all movies but most of them are old tv series'. This past weekend I finished up season one of...
Has anyone besides me seen it? It takes place in Napa, California and all about a families struggle to have a successful winery. It's from the 1980's and completely awesome. It always makes me pretty excited because I'm only going to be living a short distance from Napa. I feel like I need to go there and explore because you can tell some of the scenes were obviously filmed there in the town.

Also sitting in the pile, is Charles In Charge, Taxi, 24 season 2, The Six Million Dollar Man and on and on. I can't decide what to start next but I think I'll end up going with Season 2 of 24. I hadn't started watching it till this winter and I was instantly hooked.

When I move, I'm not for sure if I'm going to have cable for while (ok well at least at first) so I might have to get netflix again. Did I ever mention the experience I had with netflix? No? Well let me tell you about it.

So I had netflix. I had been holding out for a long time. I like to buy dvds. I can't help it. There's something about knowing that I own it if I want to watch it over and over. Taking the plastic wrapper off and alphabetizing it on my shelf. Hence why I have so many dvds. Well Josh wanted us to get and share a netflix account. Ok fine, no big deal we'll just choose the online option and not the dvd service. For the first month I swear I only watched like maybe 1 thing. The second month maybe 3 things.

About three months into it, I was like yeah we're not using it enough to pay the money for it. So I went to cancel it. Um no.... they had just billed me and they don't do partial refunds etc. So I was like ok we'll try to use it for the next month then cancel it. So the end of the month comes and I realize that if we cancel it, everything will be gone from our history so if we ever go back to it we'll have to start over. Boo! So I decide to put a hold on the account for like 4 months. Well guess what happened 4 months later. We forgot to cancel and of course they billed us. BOOOOOO

I watched that calendar for a good month on the day that I could it got cancelled. Needless to say, I was not a fan of Netflix.

Eric and I are addicted to Netflix. We were the same way.. not really watching anything. But now.. it's insane. I've started How I Met Your Mother (from season 1) and am now on Season 3! ha! And there are TONS of other shows on there- Saved by the Bell, Pretty Little Liars, Gossip Girl, etc. But, I dont like how random it is. I'll search Garden State and find nothing. Bummer. I never watched Falcon Crest but I totally remember the ads for it! Funny!

Oh boy...I remember Falcon Crest... I watched it in the 80s. Yes, that long ago...and yes, I'm that old. I remember as a kid I was a bit too excited about this show. Kinda disturbing. lol

I love owning DVDs too. I want to stock up on them before we leave, since they're so cheap! If you want any series, let me know and I might be able to find it here for $1-$1.50 per disc. Then I can ship to to you when I get back to america.
