Election Day!

Today the primary election is being held in my home state. Since the age of 18, I have worked in every primary and general election and today is no different. This year I'm a poll clerk. Wish me good luck! Because I have to report to my assigned voting location at 5:30am and will be sitting in a chair (please let it be padded!) until 7:30pm

Usually it's a lot of fun. I get to meet complete strangers and spend the day working with them. It's always interesting meeting new people and of course I usually end up seeing someone I know who comes in to vote. I'm also taking a book to read. I'd hate to be stuck there and have nothing to do if the turnout ends up being low.

So if you live in a state that's having a primary Election today, don't forget to get out there and vote!

I miss getting to work on stuff like that... it's too hard living in WI because all the political stuff is on the other side of the state.

I remember ditching a class in high school so I could go vote - when I later explained to my English teacher why I hadn't been in class he was so happy that I was excited to vote that he didn't even mind me missing his class, lol.

Ours is June 8th! I have never volunteered to work at anything like this but with my recent interest in politics I just might! Have fun! :)

I'm a horrible voter. I probably shouldn't admit than in my 10 almost 11 eligible voting years...I've only gone twice.

I hang my head in shame.

Wow, go you working the elections. I'm one of those bad people who barely remembers to vote in the smaller elections. Way to be active about it.

I agree! It's important to vote in every election and a lot of people don't realize it!

I would love to be a poll clerk! The ones at my polling station were always so nice. And sometimes have donuts for us :) Our primaries aren't till June, with runoffs in July. So a ways to go, yet :) Enjoy!
