Theater Thursday

It's Thursday so that can only mean one thing. It's Theater Thursday
This week's featured movie is My Father the Hero
Premiering in 1994, My Father the Hero follows Nikki (Katherine Heigl) and Andre (Gerard Depardieu) on their father/daughter trip to the Bahamas. Nikki a 14 year old girl who's been living in NYC with her mother, hasn't seen her father for years. Andre wanting to reconnect to his daughter takes her on the trip hoping to reconnect.

Once getting to the Nassau Nikki runs into a young, handsome 18 year old named Ben (Dalton James). Trying to win the affection and attention of Ben, Nikki lies to Ben and tells him that Andre is her older lover and not her father. Soon, the news spreads across the island and everyone at the resort is disgusted. Andre oblivious to Nikki's story can't understand why everyone is treating him poorly and being blatantly rude.
Along the way, Nikki, Ben and Andre encounter crazy situations resulting in really funny scenes. If you've never seen this movie you've got to see it! This movie was one of my personal favorites growing up. Fun Fact: The hotel that is used in the movie is actually the One and Only Beach Club hotel in Nassau. The rooms go for about 800.oo a night. Also the entire soundtrack was done by the Baha Men (looooong before their who let the dogs out days).

Now here's the fun part. Have a movie you love that's out on dvd? Great! Post about it and then come back here to link up! Just click on the link and follow the instructions.

My best friend loved this movie growing up. So I watched it over and over with her, and I'd be lying if I didn't admit to loving it a little too.

This is another one of my all-time favorites! I wore the VHS out! It is such a sweet story of first love and our bond with our fathers. Good stuff!
