The King Is Gone

Today in 1977, Elvis Presley was found laying lifeless inside his Graceland mansion in Memphis, Tennessee. Shortly after he was pronounced dead and as the word spread throughout the nation people began flocking to the gates of Graceland.
People were in shock that someone so full of life could be taken from the world. His fans, friends, family and staff didn't know what to do with themselves. They stood in shock and awe as the funeral captivated the world. His songs and albums flooded the airways and his record sales skyrocketed once again.
But when the last of the limo's were gone and the fans had paid their respects at Graceland, the city, the fans and family still had that empty feeling. Knowing that the King of Rock n' Roll was gone forever. Someone who would give the shirt of their back to a complete stranger. Someone who loved to goof around and have fun. Someone who loved life.
Elvis you are still missed. January 8, 1935- August 16, 1977.

They were talking about Elvis on the radio this morning, but I missed why. Now I know! RIP: Elvis

You know I really liked this post. Reason why...there were so many rumors for so long about what happened to him (a Burger King sighting, etc.) and I never knew the truth!

I wonder what he'd be like if he were still around toady. And I wonder why people don't learn from the lessons of others' before them...like drugs are bad! He was so handsome i9n his youth.

I've probably mentioned this before, but my dad is a huge Elvis fan. My brother is named Aaron after him (stepmom wouldn't allow Elvis!).
