Tales From the Road

You know how when you're in the car on a long trip and you start to notice things you don't normally notice? Well... with going to Memphis for Elvis Week and making the 8 hour car trip, I started to notice a few things about being on the road.

1) There is a huge amount of rubber shreds on the road. I mean how many semi's have blown a tire? I never see that many sitting on the side of the roads. I swear if you would have collected all the rubber laying on the road and on the sides you could have made at like 12 semi truck tires.

2) If the speed limit is 70mph and you're dead set on going 65mph, do not, I repeat DO NOT get in the left lane and then get pissed when someone comes up behind you and wants you to get over.

3) Construction. It's a part of life, but can't they do that at night when no one is on the road?! I mean really, shutting down a major highway in noon traffic to one lane is NOT a smart idea. Ever.

4) Always get gas before the warning light comes on.

5) If you want to put your feet on the dash then fine. But if you've got some ugly T-Rex looking feet, remember that other people will see them as they drive by you.

Bwahaha...I love this! The hubs & I take at least one road trip a year & I have to agree with you on all of this.

Also, the 'ugly T-Rex looking feet'
comment made me laugh so hard cause it's totally true! Gross.

Lol! So true, especially the tire treads!

I think construction work should be done at night as well. Not just because of the inconvenience it causes those traveling during the day but because of the heat. Who wants to be working during the heat of the day with all the tar and asphalt? It's ridiculous!

Not gunna lie, #5 made me laugh.

Have you ever been behind a semi as they've blown a tire? It's one of the freakiest things ever! There was definitely screaming involved when it happened to me!

I never understand why people want to drive slowly in the left lane! I tend to drive close to the speedlimit and I try to stay in the right lane as much as possible.
