Weekend Review

A big thank you to everyone who reached out to me and commented on my last post. I deeply appreciate all the positive thinking and well wishes.

On Friday I set out to find a new black purse. Since 2007, I had a go to black leather bag. That thing was amazing. It was comfortable to carry, it could hold everything and it went with everything. While I was in Memphis for Elvis Week, I accidently and unknowingly caught the leather on something and it ripped it. I was so sad when I realized it because I'd had that bag forever.

Well with fall and winter on the way, I needed to find a suitable replacement. I found this little gem...
It was hard deciding because there was a second black bag that I loved but was made by Jessica Simpson and since I loathe (yes... loathe) her I knew I had to go with this one. I carried it on Saturday and I love it! It's perfect for the fall and winter!

On Saturday, I went to a soccer game. It was only for an hour but the sun came out for the first time all week. It was also Marshall University's first home game of the season. I'm happy to say that they won! Go herd

I also took advantage of Border's going out of business sale. I'll be sad to see them go but at the same time I got some major loot for about 60 dollars! The savings at the bottom of my ticket said 190.00 dollars. Hmm... their books were always a little pricey....
As you can probably tell, I've got some major travel fever and planning ahead of me. If you've ever been to any of these places especially Hawaii, Spain, Italy and Germany please give me all the details you can. I'm especially looking for information on hotels, restaurants and sights! Please and thank you

Sunday brought the 10th Anniversary of 9/11. I don't think I've ever shared my story of where I was on that fateful day on here. Septemeber 11, 2001, I was a senior in high school. I had just sat down in my accounting class when someone rushed in and said turn on the television. Our student teacher turned on the tv and that's when we saw the first tower in flames. We sat watching for a minute not knowing if it was an accident or what? Then we saw a plane come in and hit the second tower. That's when everything changed. Never forget.

We thought it was a bomb at first. And then everyone started thinking it was an accident once we found out about the plane. I was a senior in high school as well and I remember thinking that it would be a day in my history that I would never forget but that I wished so much that it could just be erased.

Just caught up on your blog and I'm so sorry you've been waiting and waiting. That is ridiculous, but you are right - no news = better than bad news. I know it sounds lame to say just keep on trucking, but we all know you can do it. Your time will come girl. You've worked so hard for all of this. Fingers crossed your news is right around the corner.

I have started getting my most beloved purses and shoes repaired, because a good thing is hard to find.

Love your new pick.

And I can't wait to read about your traveling adventures.

Your new purse is so cute! I have some suggestions for you for the countries you mentioned. I'm just going to list things for now, but if you have questions you can ask me on my blog. :-)

Spain Sights: La Sagrada Familia, Segovia's Aquaduct and Castle, Montserrat, The Prado, The Reina Sofia (Home of Picasso's Guernica), Thyssen, Las Rambles (where you can eat and shop). Seeing a bullfight can be interesting, but if it's the type of thing that would freak you out don't feel bad about skipping it.

Italy Sights: The Vatican (I'm not a religious person, but visiting vatican city was very moving), Pompeii, Rome (in general, so much to see and do!), Florence, Venice, Sorrento, Sicily, Capri - Ahh! So much good stuff. Wherever you decide to go you will have plenty of stuff to see and we just randomly picked restaurants and they were all amazing.

I've been to Germany, but only to Kaiserslautern which was adorable, but I'm sure there are many more interesting things to see.

PS - If you are short on time in Italy you really can skip the leaning tower of Pisa. It was super touristy and the merchants were pretty obnoxious. However, if you really want the "holding up the tower" photo, go for it.
