Theater Thursday

It's Thursday and that can only mean one thing around these parts... it's Theater Thursday! This week's featured movie is, Footloose! The new one!
Now before everyone goes all crazy on me let me just say that, no remake can ever beat the original. No matter how hard they may have tried the new version of Footloose does not beat the classic. I mean come on... Kevin Bacon doing gymnastics, fake glitter, velvet tux jackets. They all help make the original outshine any remakes. However....

The new footloose was pretty good. The new Willard was really funny and in my opinion helped carry the entire film. I also liked the updated chicken race and I thought that Julianna Hough was a really good Ariel. So if you get the chance check it out! Compare it to the original and see what you think! No matter what you'll have the song Footloose stuck in your head for a few hours afterwards.

I haven't seen the remake yet, though the hubs turned his nose at it last night. I might have to watch this one alone.

PS I did a movie recommendation at my place today too!

I've actually never seen the original... CRAZY I know :) I even lived 10 minutes away from the town it was filmed in!
But I LOVED this movie. I wanted to go sign up for dance classes after I saw it, ha ha!
