Since I was 18 years old, I've worked in every election. Primaries, special elections and generals but this is the first time in ten years that I haven't. Since moving to California and working out here I haven't been able to sign up to volunteer. Actually, in the state of West Virginia they pay their workers 200.00 for the day. I did manage to get registered to vote out here in time and have already submitted my ballot.
Don't forget to vote! It's your RIGHT!

I remember when I was 18 I was in my English class and my polling place was at my high school. I went up to my teacher and told him I needed to leave so I could vote.
At least this time I don't have to ditch class to do it ;-)
What? They pay you to volunteer? That's really awesome. I turned 18 6 months after an election so the last election was the first one I was able to vote in. I already voted too!
Happy election day, girl! Rock the vote!

dang 200 a day is pretty good!
I voted back in September :) Yay for voting and yay for volunteering.
I worked this year in Ohio - we get paid a little less than $200 plus I got an extra $20 for being the Democrat half of the drop off team after the polls closed. Long day but I really enjoy it and you sure see some interesting things.
