Theater Thursday

It's Thursday and that can only mean one thing around here! It's Theater Thursday! This week's featured movie stars two members of the Brat Pack... Betsy's Wedding. 

Betsy's Wedding stars Molly Ringwald as Betsy Hopper, as fashion designer in training who's getting married. Her father Eddie (Alan Alda) is a construction contractor who has to go into business with his brother in law to help pay for the wedding. What he doesn't know is that his brother in law is heavily involved with loan sharks. When one of the shark's kids Stevie Dee (Anthony LaPaglia) gets involved with Eddie's other daughter Connie (Ally Sheedy). Eddie starts to get really worried. 

Eddie puts two and two together and realizes that money is being laundered through his construction project. When his brother in law and him go to meet with Stevie Dee and his family about the business they get involved in a shoot out that reveals too much information. Eddie finds out way more information that he bargained for and wants out. The deal is already in place and he can't seem to get out. Now he's worried about who's going to take the fall if the cops get involved. 

Connie, Eddie's other daughter is a police officer.....

This movie is an early 1990's film that re-unites to brat packers Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy. It also stars Joe Pesci and Anthony La Paglia before his Without A Trace hit.
