Theater Thursday

It's Thursday and that can only mean one thing... it's Theater Thursday! This Thursday is the first one in November and the first one of the holiday season! This week's featured movie is a classic watch for me during the holidays... Sleepless in Seattle.

Sleepless in Seattle stars a young Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. Sam (Hanks) has just lost his wife to cancer. Now being the sole parent to their son Jonah, he decides to pick up and move them to Seattle for a fresh start. Annie (Ryan) has just became engaged to Walter (Bill Pullman) and lives in Baltimore. Their lives couldn't be anymore different. Then on Christmas eve Jonah calls in to one of those radio psychology shows and tells Dr. Marsh Fieldstone that his dad needs to a new wife. Annie who's in her car driving to Walter's parents house hears Jonah talk about his dad and then Sam once he gets on the air.

For some unspoken reason Sam really makes a dent into Annie's heart. For the next few weeks she continues to think about Sam, who at the same time is being inundated with women sending him letters wanting to date him. Annie can't get Sam out of her mind and enlists the help of her friend and boss Becky (Rosie O'Donnell) to help track him down. While she loves Walter, she realizes something might be missing from their relationship. They make a date to go to NYC on Valentines Day all the while she goes to Seattle to track down Sam. What happens when she gets there? Well you'll have to watch to find out!

I personally love this movie. It's one of my favorites.
