All Things Christmas & A road trip

Today I am headed off to one of my favorite places
Pigeon Forge, TN! Just a small 2 day road trip.
Where I will shop at one of my favorite stores: A Christmas place

Oh let the ornament shopping continue!!

In Christmas news, got the live tree today. Does anyone else do a live tree? I love the smell, as soon as you walk in your house you can smell the christmas cheer! Now, I just have to finish decorating it (once I get back from TN) and get the outside house decorations up.

I'm sending out Christmas cards this year and I'm including some of my amazing blog friends. If you'd like to get one just shoot me an e-mail over at Jmomiller@gmail.com They're really cute! You won't be disappointed!

Also...I have a small dilemma...I don't know what to get a co-worker for Christmas. He's also in his mid twenties and besides being co-workers we're pretty good friends. His partner got him luggage for his recent birthday (he was pretty disappointed). I literally have NO CLUE what to get him. He has everything. Any suggestions? I was thinking maybe a cologne but those are pretty personal and he could end up not liking it.

Alright lovelies! I'll be back Wednesday!

I like a live tree but hate the mess they make.

Have fun on your trip.

I have this problem with a friend every year. Magazine subscription? A book about something he likes? A gag gift?

Hope you have a great trip! Love me some Christmas place!!! as for a "real" tress....they do smell wonderful but I go with fake. :) Don't have to worry about it dying or "shedding" all over the house.

Safe travles!!

Make him a basket of goodies. It's easy sinc eyour around him so much. I'm doing a bunch for my friends. I'm doing a coffee and tea one (with a travel mug, christmas teas, a few good books and some home-made goodies) and a movie night one (home-made choc. popcorn in really cute popcorn tubs(from target), a new movie, favorite candy and home-made goodies)

It's personal and you can make it with a bunch of stuff he likes. Put it in a cute basket with a big bow!

For guys I try to mix in something nice they wouldn't buy themselves with something fun. For instance, a sterling silver money clip is something most guys won'tbuy themselves but I've never met a buy who didn't like having money clips. Or a nice briefcase/messenger bag in a leather that will distress beautifully over time. Then I throw in a fun book/game/gag gift since everyone loves a stupid present every now and then.

Another option that is safe is to purchase a night out from one of their favorite dining establishments. Just make sure the gift card covers the cost of two entrees, dessert and alcohol since no one likes to eat alone!

I've always only had fake trees. My whole family is allergic. Hubs had real ones, but when we got married, he went with me and we got a pre-lit one. I'm SO thankful! There's nothing I hate more than stringing lights!

Yay! I can not wait to see pics from your trip.

As for the co worker, I agree that cologne is a little personal...

My picks are:

Candles. .Everyone loves candles and they are not a personal gift.

A DVD..pick one of your favorites you think he may have not seen and give a story to it about why you picked it, a little personal touch?

A scarf. I love scarfs. And a nice man scarf may be nice?

James Bond refuses to have anything other than a live tree in our house during Christmas time. I am hoping we can get ours set up this week!

Is there any fun inside jokes you have with this co-worker? Sometimes I use those as inspiration for my friends. GOOD LUCK and have fun on your trip.

Pigeon Forge, eh? Isn't that where the Duggars went? That Christmas place looks AWESOME!

Does he like board games? Some of my favorite gifts have been random games people bought me. That's something I would never really spend money on for myself.

I just found your blog and was drawn in by the Pigeon Forge post! We were there a couple years and just LOVED the area. We are actually planning a trip back soon!!

We also get a live tree. I'm in WI. Part of the fun is going to pick one out and cutting it down. But you're right, the smell is the best!

The gift for the coworker... what does he like to do for fun?? If he likes to cook... a gift certificate for a cooking class would be fun. Or if he likes wine, one of those wine club memberships, where you get a new bottle of wine every month for 6 months or a year or whatever you chose...
