New things

I'm pretty excited. Today I'm having my custom made dvd shelf delivered. Yes, that's right I said custom made dvd shelf. If you haven't heard, I'm a big fan of movies (Theater Thursdays) and buying dvds. I never rent...I buy. I don't do Netflix because my mail always gets sent to the wrong addresses, so I just end up buying them. After years of this, I have about 800+ dvds. And yes I know that's a lot. About 2 months ago I decided I needed a better shelf to hold them all so I called up a fabulous carpenter/woodmaker and told him what I wanted. Well, today he will be bringing it over. The only sad part? Writing him a check that includes one too many zero's.

In other news, I watched the new show V last night. Um...fabulous! I've now added it to my weekly watch list. If you missed it go to abc.com or hulu and catch up. It was goooood.

Apart from the new shelf being delivered I'm tackling some Christmas shopping. I have a pretty large family when it comes to the uncle department. In recent years they've all acquired wives which means another gift. So I'm on a mission to get all of those gifts bought today. And I may or may not be looking to score some fabulous skinny jeans and black heels for myself along the way....

Haha...the part about your uncles "acquiring wives" brought a funny picture to my head.

It sounds like you collect dvd's like we do! They're seriously everywhere. Instead of a book library we need a movie library!

I loved the show too. But the scifi thing is kinda up my alley. I know, I'm a loser.

A DVD carpenter huh? That's so funny. I have a friend exactly like you in that regard.

It is pretty cool you have so many movies. The idea of a custom made dvd shelf sounds like a good idea with the large amount. I heard another blogger talking about V and am interested to check it out now. Have a great day!

I'll take a pair of skinnys as well, thanks! ;)

We watched V. B loved it! I just thought it was ok. The only thing that really had my interest was the black guy. I wanted to know what his past was. But I'm sure I'll be watching occasionally as B is now OBSESSED!

We watched V last night too. Jon is hooked, but I'm still a little unsure. I still can't believe they brought up Universal Health Care. Really?!

Ooo! I'm excited to see a picture of this DVD shelf - very exciting! I'm like you are with DVDs but with books. I hate renting/borrowing books, because I love to keep them!

I went jeans shopping last night! Express has all their jeans Buy 1 get 1 half off AND I had a coupon for $30 off a $75 purchase (love those) so I got two pairs of jeans for less than $60!
I got the Zelda skinny jeans in the dark wash (which I fell in love with right away) and a Barely Boot cut jean that still works with tucking into your boots.
Can't wait to hear what you find on your shopping trip!

Until just now my future sister in law held my record for most movies accumulated. She has nearly 400. You just stole it though. ;) I agree with a comment above, I wanna see those shelves!

Yay Xmas shopping...and other shopping! As my mom would say "merry christmas to us!" (We have problems shopping for other people when we're together). Also, my husband does the same - always buying stuff he hasn't see without renting. It leads to a nice collection though :)

Oh my goodness? 800 DVDs?
I wish we had money to just buy the DVDs but, for now, Netflix will have to do. =)
Can't wait to see a picture of your Custom DVD shelf. How in the world do you organize 800 DVDs?

I wish I could do skinny jeans, but not so lucky. Sigh.

I wish I were as brave as you to just buy a DVD before watching it but I know I probably wont like it enough to watch it again... haha.
