Spewing Venom

Spewing venom does not grow flowers.
Before I head out on my trip tomorrow, I wanted to talk about this...
Does anyone remember this night?
The above photo was taken the night of the Miss USA pageant. I normally don't watch them but for some reason I managed to catch it. I saw the above events unfold. Did you see it?
That's Miss California, Carrie Prejean. She received her judges question from Perez Hilton (who btw I wouldn't call him an expert on judging beauty), the question was "Do you think America should legalize gay marriage?" No matter what your opinion may be (I don't want to know) she answered what she personally thought. That was her right and opinion... She didn't win.

Que the next day, major backlash. Things came out about her mother possibly being in a same sex relationship, a few months later unclothed photos appeared of her. Then recently a sex tape comes out, etc etc She's no longer affiliated with the Miss USA program. Now somewhere in this time she wrote a book. Yes, you read that right. She wrote a book.

Earlier this week she was on The View. Seeing as how I now watch it most mornings before work I saw the episode. From the moment this girl came out on stage she was nothing but hostile. The women were trying to be nice and she would bounce back with major venom spewing out of her mouth. Even Whoppi commented on it a day later!  Then last night this very awkward incident happened....

Did you see it? It was VERY bizarre. She's on Larry King Live, she basically just wants to plug her "book". He wants to ask her questions. She basically refuses to answer questions and take viewer calls. Starts calling LK's behavior inappropriate, takes off the mic and just sits there. She literally just. sat. there. Um...awkward.

I'm really hoping her 15 mins of fame are over very, very soon.

Okaay.. I may lose popularity here, but I have to give my opinion on this.. respectfully of course. I hate that she caught so much hell for her answer that night. Even if I don't necessarily agree with what her answer was, it was her OPINION. She was honest with it. I don't think anyone should fault her for stating what she believes. Right or wrong.
Yes, she's been a little hostile lately, but my God, so would I. She can't say or do anything without catching hell. She's in the public eye.. so every little mistake she makes is going to be thrown out there (ie. sex tape) The Larry King thing... if you watch it again it looks like "her people" told her she had to leave.
Shameless plug or not.. I'm dying to read the book :) One of those guilty pleasures I guess!

I didn't see theinterview, but the morning radio show I listen too posted part of her larry king interview. Hello awkward. Did she really think Larry King had her on to talk about her book??

I agree with you. At first, I completely sided with her when all the stuff came out about her answer regarding same sex marriage. Now she is just being ridiculous and it's very unbecoming.

I'm sayin'!!!
I don't care what her opinion is, that is fine....but one can't expect to just come on TV to plug a book and not answer personal questions. That's just how the cookie crumbles.

Her answer to the question in my opinion has nothing to do with her dumb ass attitude now. She answered what was her personal opinion so ok...... but now, if she really didn't want to keep getting hammered in the media, she would get OUT of it.

I'm still really glad that she stood up for what she believes in. I do agree that her more recent behavior has been a little odd, but like someone else said, I would probably be on the defensive as well! And I haven't seen the Larry King interview so I can't base my opinion on that part.

I agree with you.

AGREED! She is annoying, and it is obvious that being Miss USA is a political thing, so she should of said a PC answer.

Aw that makes me sad because after she stood and stated her opinion (which was no doubt going to make her unpopular) I had a lot of respect for her. Whether you agree or not you have to admit it takes a strong person to do that and not just say what a homosexual judge is going to want to hear. I really hate the backlash that happened for her after that. It wasn't right.

I'll have to watch these interviews online. I would have liked to heard that she was more gracious then hateful. If it wasn't for that pageant and that mess no one would know who that girl even is!

Yeah, I'd also love to read her book. Call me curious :)

regardless of what she said, she can always know in her heart she told the truth...whether or not other people agree is also THEIR opinion which they are also entitled to. regardless...enough is enough the news should def. focus on something more important.

I'm sorry but the recent interviews sounds fairly hilarious!

I can't believe how poorly she's handling this. :/ It's pathetic.

OMG! I couldn't agree more. At first I felt for her and really liked her for being true to herself...but now she wants to make money off of a book and avoid a media storm at the same time. Hmmm. It just goes with the territory.

I completely agree. She seems like a not-very-nice-person. She could've handled those situations better. However I also agree that the question Perez Hilton asked her was an opinion-based question...and either way she answered it she would've gotten flack for it. Either way, I also hope her fame-time is up. Along with the Gosselins.
