Theater Thursday

Theater Thursday is here! As we get closer and closer the actual week of Christmas, I'm pulling out the really good holiday movies! With this week's pick, we get one step closer! This theater thursday we're looking at Miracle on 34th Street
Over the years there's been a few remakes made but I believe the best is the original. It was made in 1947 starring Maureen O'Hara, John Payne, Natalie Wood and Edmund Gween.
It all starts when a Macy's Santa Clause claims to be the real Kris Kringle and becomes institutionalized. A young lawyer Fred steps up and takes the case, causing some stir in his love life with Doris (O'Hara) a fellow Macy's employee.

This holiday season her daughter Susan is having issues with believing in Santa. Doris being an adult doesn't believe in Santa and thinks that even though Kris is a nice old man that he isn't the real Santa. Fred wants to believe in Kris, causing another problem between Doris and Fred.  Fred decides to get Kris' case taken to a jury and has an uphill battle to win. Bringing out the age old question, "Do you believe in Santa Clause?"
This is such a classic, holiday movie. If you've never seen the original it's a MUST add!

This is definiately one of my favorite Christmas movies and all-time movies! I dvr'ed it about 2 years ago and refuse to erase it. I'll admit though, my favorite version is the 1994 version with Richard Attenborough, Dylan McDermott, and Elizabeth Perkins.

I'm going to have to disagree with you, because I think the best version of this film is the 1994 remake!
