Theater Thursday

It's Thursday and here at Crazy Shenanigans that can only mean one thing... it's Theater Thursday! This week's featured movie is Deal

Deal stars Burt Reynolds as Tommy, a retired gambler who comes across a law school bound college kid named Alex (Bret Harrison) and teaches him how to make it in the big leagues of playing poker.

Tommy (Reynolds) has promised his wife that he'll never gamble in another poker tournament again. When he sees a young man named Alex (Harrison) playing poker who realizes he's got the potential of making it big.... but needs a little training. He approaches Alex with a deal that he can't refuse. He'll teach him to bluff and be his financial baker in the games. Everything goes smoothly for awhile until a woman named Michelle (Shannon Elizabeth) enters the picture.

At this point it becomes teacher against student and Tommy must decide if he's going to re-enter the poker world as a player and Alex must decide if he can win on his own.

Honestly, I had bought this movie for 5 dollars months ago and hadn't watched it till last week. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. It's not like the movie 21 because it mainly focuses on the World Tournament of Poker and has a lot to do with the actual game. I really recommend watching it!

I was JUST about to say it sounds a little like 21 so I'm happy you said it isn't. It sounds pretty good!
