Inside the Graceland living room
Growing up, my family and I would often take trips to Tennessee, which in turn fueled my love for Elvis even more. I'd always end up at a tribute show and would be rushing the stage for a scarf. Yep, you read that right. I would stand there waiting and hoping that I'd be the one going home with a scarf. I mean really... who didn't want one? If you attend a tribute show, then obviously you have some kind of love for Elvis and his music.

I grew to love his late 1960's and 70's era the most. Maybe it was the jumpsuits, maybe it was the sideburns or the great tan he was rocking. I would and still do, watch footage over and over from his On Tour and That's the way it is specials.

So when I visited Graceland for the first time, it was like the mother ship calling me home. I couldn't believe that I was actually there. Walking and talking where Elvis himself had actually lived. I was standing in his television room. Yep, little ole' me just standing where Elvis use to watch tv. I still can't wrap my mind around it. Seeing everything up close and personal just deepened my love for the King.

When it came time for me to decide my vacation, there wasn't any hesitation... Elvis Week! This August I'll be heading to Memphis and spending a week with fellow Elvis fans. I can't even imagine how packed it's going to be. This is my first time being there during Elvis week so it should be exciting! The one thing I'm looking forward to most is the tribute artists contest! I'm hoping that once tickets go on sale that I can hook myself up with some vip seats. Cause I mean what Elvis fan/blogger wouldn't want the good hook up?

Is it true that you can't go in his bedroom??
PERFECT vacation for you! And I'm sure it'll be awesome being around other die hard fans.
Look at YOU! What an adventure. Totally jealous! Love the pictures. xoxo
ELVIS WEEK. :) I WANT TO GO. i also told Scotty I want that book you are reading "ast Train to Memphis: The Rise of Elvis Presley"
This is so hilarious!! I was born on the day Elvis died (well, I was born a few years later, on August 16th, 1981). I have never felt as deeply connected to him as I have to Madonna, with whom I SHARE a birthday! August 16th was also in the middle of the original Woodstock, so I'd say it's a pretty important day, musically, right?? I can't wait to see your pics!
Oh I love Elvis too! Grew up listening to him. Thanks for the tour:)
PS You look fab in these shots:)
I love Elvis too! I was born on his birthday! January 8th. I got to TN every year for like an Elvis homage! haha, with my ch emo treatments however I probably will not be going this year.

Have always loved Elvis, always wanted to visit Graceland. Honestly, this blog is the closest I've ever come! Might be the only time I get to see it so clearly, so thanks!
I went to Graceland on the anniversary of Elvis' Death and it was PACKED. PACKED. but so much fun.
How fun is that? My best friends's husband is from Austria and LOVES Elvis. They even had an impersonator come for their wedding. He can't wait to visit Graceland someday :)
