Thanksgiving 2014

Thanksgiving came and went by as if it was a flash of lightening. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that it's December. This Thanksgiving I was fortunate enough to be able to travel back to West Virginia to visit my family. It's so expensive to fly to WV and we had been watching the flight prices for months. Unfortunately, we could only afford one ticket so Beezy went to Tahoe with his family while I headed back to the east coast.
(Pardon my all day on a flight hair)

I got into Huntington on Thanksgiving day. My mom had fixed up the turkey and had it all ready for me the moment I arrived. Ok, who am I kidding?! I had to wait a very hungry two hours but it was great and the turkey was tasty. We were able to eat dinner, relax and start watching our Christmas movies. That's exactly why I went there. I even did a little Black Friday shopping online. I've been refusing to go to the stores for a few years now on black Friday.

Once we came out of our turkey coma on Friday we headed out to get the live Christmas tree. We've bought one every since I was a small child. It's a tradition and for years we've got our trees at Stewarts. They have the best Frasier Fir trees and they always do great.
It took us most of the day but we got it all decorated with all of our traditional ornaments...

On Friday, we met up with the rest of the family. It had been almost two years since all of us were in the same room together. There was about 10 of us and it was so great seeing everyone. Unfortunately, we won't all be able to get together again for Christmas this year so we took our infamous family couch photo. I'll post it later when it gets closer to Christmas. I mean it is our "Christmas" couch photo. We did have a great time seeing each other though. A lot is changing in my family. My uncle who lives in DC is moving to NYC. My grandma is moving to South Carolina. So it's getting crazy!

The days back home went by so fast. Before I knew it Sunday had came and I was back on a plane to Sacramento. Before I left, I got Beezy some of the famous Tudor's Breakfast Biscuits. They are seriously the best breakfast biscuits ever. I love them and miss them. I'm sure my cholesterol doesn't. So Beezy has heard me talk about them for months on end and wanted to try them. I brought him back two of their best ones for him to try. I got them the day before I left, froze them and they stayed cold till I was back in California. here is his reaction....
They were a hit. He said they were scrumdiddlyumptious!

I'm so with you - I don't go to the stores for Black Friday. I like staying home in my pj's and browsing online instead! :)

And that's a beautiful Christmas tree, love it! :)
