Four Letter Words: Snow, Debt & Gift

Remember on Friday when I mentioned that we might be getting hit by a snowstorm? Ohh....we got hit by it, that's for sure. I'd say we got hit with a good 8-10 inches at least. Did I have to go into work though? Oh, you betcha! My position is considered emergency personnel essential. What does that mean? That basically means, even if the world is coming to an end, I still have/need to go into work. I'm just hoping the weather doesn't get worse because my days off aren't until Tuesday. Ekk!

A little update on my 2010 goals: Out of 4 credit cards...I now have 2 of them paid off. Now I'm only 2 cards and a car loan away from being debt free!

So.....I've got some BIG, BIG, BIG news! I can't tell you till Monday though... I guess you'll have to come back then to find out what it is. Trust me, it'll be worth it. Let's just say more than one of you will be walking away with something (wink wink)!

Oh...weekend

First off...don't forget my 300th post is coming up and I'm taking Questions for a Q&A. If you haven't already asked a question then go here to do so!
I don't know about the rest of you, but in my neck of the woods, we're suppose to be getting a HUGE snow storm. I went to the grocery store to stock up on some necessities incase it gets really bad out there. Um...hello. The shelves were almost completely bare. I was shocked. Usually, people around here don't go this crazy so I'm guessing this storm is getting hyped as a giant.

Since the weekend weather forecast isn't looking too good. I've decided to leave you with my list of hot men that could totally warm your bed at night. So without further ado...my top 5 hotties of Hollywood.
Colin Farrell (Super hot in Swat)

Harry Connick Jr. (Have you seen him in New In Town?!)
Keanu Reeves (The Love of My Life)
Shia LeBeouf (Eagle Eye hotness)
Taylor Lautner (yes he may be 17 but I can wait that out 12 months)

Enjoy the weekend!

Theater Thursday

Watch out! We're getting fancy here at Crazy Shenanigans! We've finally got a button for
Theater Thursday! Made none other than by Miss Amy over at The Undomestic Army Wife. Big Thank You!
This week's Theater Thursday featured movie is It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World!

It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World came out in 1963 and featured over 10 main characters. The story begins with a man's car going over a cliff. Four separate cars see the accident and stop to help. Once the 5 men reach the dying man, he confesses to them where he's buried a large sum of money but not it's exact location. Thinking that the dying man had gone crazy non of the passengers believed him. However, once the police come and begin to question them, the people begin to wonder if he really was telling the truth about the money.

All of them men have places to go and other passengers in their cars to deal with. However, all of them tell their traveling companions about the man's confession. Trying to decide if they should go search for the money everyone realizes it's every man for himself. The results are hilarious!
If you've never seen this movie, you really must! The cast has all of the old Hollywood A-listers in it some include: Ethel Merman, Spencer Tracy, Milton Berle, Buddy Hackett, Mickey Rooney and Sid Caesar.

Now, here's where the fun comes in! Have a great movie you'd like others to know about? Post about it and then come back here and link up! Just remember! Theater Thursday's is not for movies still in the theater. Also grab the theater thursday button in my sidebar!

Soooo.....someone got their days mixed up! Haha, see what having days off will do to you?! Tomorrow will be a Theater Thursday post.
Big news folks! My 300th post is getting really close. I'm thinking about doing a Questions and Answers post. If you have any questions for me ask away! If you want to know something just ask. The more questions the better!

Life Long Friends

I have today and tomorrow off work. This makes me very excited. Since the weather here has been horrible I plan on staying inside all day. Yesterday it hailed for almost half an hour. Seriously, thought I was in the movie The Day After Tomorrow. It's rained for 3 days straight, then yesterday it stopped only to start hailing. Now it's seriously cold and extremely windy. Did I mention we're expecting snow? Oh, warm weather.... please hurry up and come back!

*Don't forget tomorrow is Theater Thursday* If you want to post about a movie and link up come back tomorrow!

The other day Kelly from over at Kelly's Corner talked about her Sorority Days. That lead me to think about mine. I spent 3 years in Phi Mu (Beta Phi Chapter) and loved it. I always loved getting dressed up for the informal/formals, playing sports during greek week and working on the floats for homecoming. Most of all I loved getting to meet so many different people. Some of my strongest friendships came out of my greek life days. If you're still in college, you should definitely think about joining the greek community. If you're out of school, did you go greek?

Here's a few pictures of my active member Phi Mu days....Take notice bloggers you may see a few fellow bloggers in these photos...
Bid Day... the day we offer membership to new girls.
Enjoying a Herd Football game!

What Not to say/do on a date Part 7

If you've missed any of the previous segments, they can be found here. Also, I had someone ask me if these are stories I've heard. Um no! These all happened to me! They are dates that I have gone on.
This week's What Not to say/do on a Date actually took place on a 3rd date.

The guy and I had known each other for awhile but had lost touch over the years. We came back into contact and ending up going out on a date. It was so nice that we made plans for a second one. The first 2 dates consisted of things like going out to dinner, going to the movies and shopping.

On the first date he met me at my house and we rode together. The second date I drove to his house and picked him up. When I got there he was already waiting outside on me. We went on the 2nd date and it ended great.

Now here comes the 3rd date. We decided to go see a movie and that I would swing by and pick him up. When I go to pick someone up or when I'm going over to someone's house I have a tendency to call them and let them know I'm almost there. I figure everyone likes a few minutes notice to be ready. On the way over, I made the call letting him know I was almost there. When I pulled up to his house he was outside waiting like how he had been the last time I picked him up. I didn't think anything of it. I figured with the phone call that he'd just decided to go ahead and come outside.

So... we end up going out to eat and not to a movie. During dinner, he asks me if I'd like to come back to his house and watch a movie instead of going to the theater. I said yes, thinking that it would be great to spend some time with him without 50 other people surrounding us. Once we finished dinner, we headed over to his house. I parked outside of his garage and we walked in.

As soon as I walk in there's a lady standing there looking at me. I thought, Um...did we just walk into someone robbing you?

Turns out he lived with his mother and failed to mention that....
For future reference guys...you might want to tell your date that even though you're a successful, working adult,  you live at home with mommy before you bring your date home.

A stalker & A TV Host Gone Mad....Oh my!

I don't know if it's just mine or what but my Google reader has been acting up like crazy and keeps pretending like I'm not following any blogs. Then a few minutes later I'll go back and try it again and BAM there they are. Anyone else having this problem?

Yes, I know... I know. I got my hair cut on Wednesday and I haven't posted any pictures. In my defense yesterday was Theater Thursday and I couldn't let you go without your movie fix! I promise come tomorrow I'll produce the evidence. Oh, while I'm remembering, incase you haven't noticed. I have a little poll going on in my left sidebar. If you would take a minute to participate I'd really appreciate it.

Now let's get serious here for a second at Crazy Shenanigans. I have a stalker. Honest to goodness a real internet stalker. In fact earlier in the week the person found me and tried to add me on twitter, facebook, my old myspace and sent me a lovely email telling me how much they think we could be friends. My instant thought.... psycho. So of course I realized they were reading my blog. So with that thought I leave a note to my stalker....

Dear Stalker. Listen up and listen hard. I know who you are. You probably think you've been so slick. Coming here and reading about my life and me not knowing. Oh...I know.  What I don't understand though, is why you google search the name of my blog everyday? Is it because you think if you google search it and come to it from google that I won't know it's you Um...stalker, let me clue you in. It's called google analytics and a little thing called Feed It. I know everyday you search my blog title in Google, then come here to read. The jig is up. Go away.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Don't forget tonight is the last Late Night with Conan. So sad! Here's a rant coming!!!
Jay Leno, you should be ashamed of yourself. You've been acting like a spoiled child who didn't get his way. YOU are the one who said you wanted to retire THEN changed your mind and threw a fit when they wouldn't give you the show back. You threatened to go to another network so they threw you a lollipop and gave you your own show. It tanked, so you threw yet another fit and finally got your way. For this....I'll never watch you again. End rant!

Theater Thursday

It's that time! It's Theater Thursday! This week we're taking a look at one of my personal favorites: Gidget Goes Hawaiian.
Gidget Goes Hawaiian (the sequel to Gidget) came out in 1961 and followed the adventures of Gidget as she goes on a family vacation to Hawaii.
Gidget (Deborah Walley) planned on spending the last 2 weeks of summer with her boyfriend Jeff aka Moondoggie (James Darren). However, her parents decided to surprise her with a trip to Hawaii. Gidget becomes so upset she storms off to tell Jeff the bad news. To her surprise he thinks it's a great idea. This upsets her to the point that she breaks up with him and heads to Hawaii.
Once in Hawaii, Gidget becomes miserable, thinking about all the great times her and Jeff shared. Her father (Carl Reiner) decides to surprise her by inviting Jeff to come out to the island. Unbeknownst to Gidget. In the meantime she vows to attempt having a good time and beings hanging out with other guys and gals whom she met on the plane.

When Jeff shows up at an awkward moment, everything becomes fair in the game of love. If you've never seen this movie, I highly suggest you watch it. It's fun, it's cute and it's just a great movie. Fair warning though, there is a few musical numbers!

Now here's the fun part! Do you have a movie you love and want to share it with others? Well now you can do that here! The only rule....do not feature any movies that are currently in the theater! So go ahead...and add a link to a post featuring one of your favorite films.

Four Months

4 months from today, I'll be in sunny California.

Oh, how I can not wait! It's going to be a blast! A group of us is going out and it's going to be an amazing trip. I've also got some family moving out there in the very near future so it'll give me a chance to see where they're going to live.

In other news, I'm getting my hair chopped off today. It's been 4 months (coincidentally) since I've had it colored and cut and it needs it bad. Maybe I'll do a before and after picture later. I've been blonde for years but recently I've thought about going back over to brunette. Hmm...maybe. I guess I'll decide while I'm sitting in the chair.

Don't forget tomorrow is Theater Thursday and I'll be having the link up where you can share your favorite movies as well. So come here, read mine, then post yours and link up!

A Packed Out Post

Prepare yourselves, this is a packed out Monday post.
Have you seen the movie Couples Retreat?
No? Well I saw it twice in the theaters and I loved it. Since then I've been obsessed with wanting to go where it was filmed. Tahiti...
Who wouldn't want to go there?!?! It looks amazing! I'm all about sandy beaches and warm weather but this place looks gorgeous. I must get there soon!

-I've been working extra days and extra hours recently. I'm working on those 2010 goals of being debt free. And of course, to feed my traveling addiction.

-I've had the song, "The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow" stuck in my head for 2 days now. I googled it looking for a picture of Annie and this is what I found. It cracked me up! Hope you enjoy it as well.

What Not to say/do on a date Part 6

Welcome to another edition of What Not to say/do on a Date. If you've missed any of the other editions you can find them here
This unforgettable first date happened at Uno's. If you've ever been to Uno's then you're going to know what I'm talking about. For those of you who haven't I'll explain it. At Uno's they have some booths that are made for 2 people only. Each side of the booth is only big enough for 1 person and that table in between isn't that big. Basically, it's a more intimate setting.

The first date and I get seated at one of these booths. I had never been out on a date with this guy. We had mutual friends and had been set up by one. I had seen him around town and vise versa. I knew before the date what his profession was but to continue the chit chat I asked him about it.

Me: "So I hear you're a police officer. That must be an exciting job."
Him: "Yeah sometimes it can be."
Me: "I'm sure you come in contact with all different kinds of people."
Him: "Oh yeah. Last summer I shot this guy and killed him. I had to sit with his body until the paramedics got there."

My instant thoughts:
Ummm......did you just throw out the fact that you shot someone and that they died?!?!

I understood that it's his job to do whatever needs to be done. However, I didn't feel that was something you should probably say on a first date and within the first 10 mins of said date.

Turning that Frown Upside Down!

Remember that big work evaluation I had coming up this week? Well it was yesterday and I did good! If you recall, I mentioned that it was a pass/fail type of eval. The good news...I didn't fail! Woohoo I can totally keep rocking at my job.

Next up on the smile meter- I placed my order for girl scout cookies. Um...am I the only one thinking that 6 boxes isn't enough to make it till the next girl scout orders are taken?!? Maybe I'll have to track down that kid and add more to my order....

I just heard that Sonic is doing a dollar menu now. I saw tots on it....this could be the death of me. I LOVE their tater tots. Warning Side story is now invading... When I was living in Alabama (I think I've mentioned that I use to live there), there was a Sonic restaurant literally 3 mins from my town home. I would have to pass it at least twice a day, going to and from work. I'm not gonna lie...many late nights on the drive home I would stop and give into my tater tot addiction. I'm pretty for sure that once I moved out of Alabama that I immediately lost 5 pounds because the lack of proximately to a Sonic.

With all this talk about cookies and tots....I realized I should probably search my Shred dvd now. Hope all of you have a great 4 day weekend! Saturday is my snowboarding trip!

Theater Thursday

Welcome to a great Theater Thursday! Before I debut this week's movie, I've got some awesome TT news! This is the 1st week of the MckLinky (Hopefully I set it up right)! Have a movie you love? Have a movie you want to watch tonight? Post about it and link up here. That way other people can show off the movies they love and in the process you might find something new to love. Just remember, theater thursdays do not feature movies that are currently in the theater. So without further ado, this week's Theater Thursday movie is: Days of Thunder
Tom Cruised blazed on the scene in 1990 as a Cole Trickle, a stock car driver who gets a chance to drive in the Nascar league. Once he's made his presence known in the race car world, he has a serious accident, Cole is rushed to the hospital where he falls under the care of Doctor Claire Lewickie (Nicole Kidman). On the road to recovery he beings to fall in love but his driving continues to suffer. The other driver in the accident continues to worsen in condition causing Cole to become afraid of driving. Knowing what he needs to do, he sets out on his quest. To win Daytona, get his friend well and prove to everyone including himself that he can drive again.

This movie has tons of great actors in it, including Randy Quaid (you know he's hilarious), Robert Duvall and Carl Elwes. If you've never seen this movie...it's definitely a good watch. Fun Fact:While filming Days of Thunder Tom Cruise was married to Mimi Rodgers. However, he fell in love with Nicole Kidman and they were married within the same here.

Letting it out into the universe.

Warning: This is a deeply personal and emotional post. I've thought about this for awhile now. If you know me, then you know I'm all about making pro/con lists. Well...I figured, "Why not?" so I'm just going to put it out there. I'm sure between all of my amazing followers, the one pesky blog stalker and the general population that somehow the universe will have a way of getting this to the right person. So here it goes. I apologize now for the pouring of real emotion.
I just needed to say this.
Dear _____,
I've started this letter at least 10 times. I've never been good at starting a letter so I guess in this case, it's made it even harder for me. I guess I should quit stalling and just get down to it. I don't know if you'll ever read this but I thought I should let you know what I'm thinking and also clear the air. First of all, I miss you. Plain and simple. I think about you more than I probably should. I wonder how you are and what you've been up to. I let my mind wander and I think of us. The times that we were together and how happy I was being with you. I wonder if you're happy now and if you ever think of me in a good way. The thought that you might, makes my heart beat a little faster.
Recently, I've found myself thinking of you a lot more often. Don't ask me why, because I don't have the answer. I wish I did. I know that if you really wanted to talk to me, you'd get ahold of me. Modern technology has made it pretty easy for girls and guys to know when they're being ignored/avoided. I don't know what twisted stories you've heard but I want to clear the air about a few things. #1 I never cheated on you physically or emotionally. You may honestly think that I did but I didn't. You of all people should know that I wouldn't. #2 After you broke my heart the 2nd time that's when I knew to let go of the hope. That's all I had to hold on to and when you took that away I knew that you didn't think I was the one. If you did you wouldn't have hurt me like that. Maybe you did it without even knowing it? I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt. #3 Regardless of what outside parties may or may not have told you. I never secretly said any harsh remarks that you hadn't heard before. It was nothing new and I'm sure it was blown up into a large drama fest that some choose to feed on. #4 I love my blog. I like to come here and write my thoughts. And they are exactly that....my thoughts. Some people have a vice well maybe this one is mine depending on how you look at it.

After things just stopped, I started hearing things that I wished I hadn't. Whispers of  lying, cheating and manipulation. I guess I should have always kept my guard up...with you I didn't want to. You always had a way of making me feel like it was just you and I. Whether it was or wasn't...well I can't answer for your end. At this point it doesn't matter. It's in the past. I just want you to know that I'm here. I miss you. I think of you and I wish we could talk. You may never want to speak to me but just know that I really wish you would. I still care for you and I think about you every single day.
-J
PS: I leave you with what I once called my theme song to life after heartbreak 1.
Say you're sorry That face of an angel comes out Just when you need it to As I pace back and forth all this time  'Cause I honestly believed in you Holdin' on, The days drag on Stupid girl  I should've known, I should've known

That I'm not a princess This ain't a fairytale I'm not the one you'll sweep off her feet Lead her up the stairwell This ain't Hollywood, This is a small town I was a dreamer before you went and let me down Now its too late for you and your White Horse, To come around.

Maybe I was na├»ve, Got lost in your eyes I never really had a chance. My mistake I didnt know to be in love you had to fight to have the upper hand.  I had so many dreams about you and me Happy endings;  Now I know

I'm not a princess This ain't a fairytale I'm not the one you'll sweep off her feet Lead her up the stairwell This ain't Hollywood, This is a small town I was a dreamer before you went and let me down. Now its too late for you and your White Horse, To come around.

And there you are on your knees Begging for forgiveness, Begging for me Just like I always wanted, But I'm so sorry

Cause Im not your princess  This aint a fairytale Im gonna find someone, Some day Who might actually treat me well. This is a big world, That was a small town There in my rearview mirror,  Disappearing now. And it's too late for you and your White Horse, Now its too late for you and your White Horse To catch me now.

Oh whoa whoa whoa-oh Try and catch me now Whoa-Oh It's too late To catch me now.

Balls of Steel

Last night, Chris Harrison proved to the whole world (well those who watch the Bachelor) that he has balls of steel.
If you watch the show The Bachelor or you happened to catch last night's episode then you probably already know what I'm going to talk about. Let's recap...

One of the women fighting for the affection of Jake (the bachelor) was found to be having an "inappropriate" relationship with one of the staffers who work on the show. The show decided it best to send her home. Who do they have tell her the news? Chris Harrison, the host of the show. In what was an obviously awkward and uncomfortable situation, he held his ground, got to the point and told her to pack her bags.

What I found really awkward was her bambi in headlights stare she just kept throwing back at him. She seemed to not deny there was some kind of a relationship with a staffer but felt like she should be able to stay.

Anyways, I'm still rooting for Ali. She seems like the most normal and genuine girls there. Who are you rooting for?

Confessions

I have a few confessions to make...
-I am a late night eater. I'll eat really healthy all day long but once I get home from work and get cozy in front of the television, I snack non stop. Usually on chips and dip, popcorn or some kind of chocolate covered whatever. I need to break this behavior.

-I have a very important evaluation coming up for work this week and I'm starting to get really nervous about it. It's a pass/fail evaluation. You fail....well you could get fired. I have never been fired. I don't want to be now either.

-Kathy Griffin's book, "Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir by Kathy Griffin." is amazing! I love her and this book makes me love her even more. She's hilarious! I found myself laughing out loud.

-I let things get to me sometimes. For instance..I was in the car today and I heard a song I hadn't heard for almost a year and it instantly took me back to the last time I heard it. It made me really miss the person that I was with at the time. Will I ever wake up one day and not feel like there's a piece of my heart I'll never get back?

What Not to say/do on a date Part 5

Incase you've missed any of the previous "What Not to say/do on a date", you can check them out here.
For this installment you'll need to think back to the year 2002. That year, the movie 8 Mile came out in theaters featuring the life story of Eminem. I did not see it that year and probably for good reason. However, it would haunt me later. Now flash forward 3 years forward....2005.

I had just begun my final fall semester of college. I was on a 2nd date/hang out. I had invited the guy over to my apartment to hang out and watch a movie. We'd been friends for awhile and things were starting to transition over to a more bf/gf vibe. At this point, the most we'd ever done was hold hands or hug. So I figured with this being our 2nd official hang out/date that I'd get a first kiss.

He came over for the date and somehow we ended up watching the movie 8 Mile. The next 2 hours, we sat there watching the gritty streets of Detroit, men fighting, rapping, doing drugs and being poor. He never made a move. Let me go on the record now as to say that 8 Mile could possibly be the worst movie ever if you're hoping to get a first kiss during or after. So moms or future moms out there.....don't want your son or daughter making out during a movie date? Pop in 8 Mile. It'll do the trick.

Holiday Gifts Bring Realizations

For Christmas I got season 1 of Ally McBeal

This week I started watching it. Oh my God.......I am Ally McBeal minus the law degree! Does anyone else love this show as much as I do? Why did I not watch this show back in the day?!?

Theater Thursday

Theater Thursday is here! This week we're taking a look at a newer movie (I know...I showcase movies that are usually at least a few years old) called What Happens In Vegas. I got this on dvd for Christmas and had never actually seen it till last week. I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe it's because I've been engrossed in love stories. I did read Dear John this week lol.
Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher are complete strangers, both from NYC who end up in Vegas over the same weekend. After a mix up in hotel rooms the pair meet. They end up having a wild night and wake up the next day to find out they got married.

Both instantly want out of the relationship come morning. However, once the win a 3 million dollar jackpot neither wants to lose the money. Once they go before a judge, he orders them to live in happily wedded bliss for 6 months. It's during the course of those months that the two must learn how to live with each other without killing each other for the cash.

I think this movie is really funny and surprising. I think I might have actually cried during parts (remember I'm a big sap). So if you've never seen this movie. Check it out!

Oh it's a doozie! Dear So & So

Before we get to the Dear So & So letters. I'd like to point out a friend of mine who blogs. Her name is Amanda and if you haven't heard she's pretty awesome. We actually met in college and were in the same sorority (many moons ago). If you get a second check out her blog. It's doesn't disappoint.

Sit back...it could be a bumpy ride.
Dear Winter Weather,
At first I loved you. You lured me in with your majestic Thanksgiving dusting & Christmas winter wonderland. Now, with your frigid, single digit temperatures, I have come to hate you. It's only January so ease up! I thought we were suppose to be in the middle of global warming. Sincerely, fan of warmer times.

Dear Diluted Fool,
I don't know what planet you are from but I know no one who, has met their perfect soul mate in 3 days and started planning a wedding. Maybe you think you have but you haven't. A month from now you're just going to look like a fool when you have to tell people you either a)called off the wedding or b) got dropped like a hot potato. Sincerely, worried about your mental health.

Dear Work,
I understand the fact that people got promoted or transfered and that we're now short staffed. But was it really necessary for me to lose my 3 days off a week and be reduced to 2? It seems kinda unfair that only 4 of us had to do this while everyone else did not. I think you came a little late to the party, scrooge was here last month. Sincerely, bummed about those 24 hours.

Dear Life,
You kicked me in the pants for most of the 2009 year. Do you think we could not have so many bombshells this year? Thanks, I'd appreciate that. Besides, the steady and I are rocking and I'd personally like the calmness to continue. Sincerely, a tired soul.

Time to Cleanse the Chi

At the beginning of December one of my favorite people, who also happens to be one of my little sisters (Phi Mu), moved out of state. She graduated college and headed back to her home state of Texas. Major sad face!
Before she left we were able to get together for one last lunch. During that time I asked her how she was getting all of her furniture, boxes, etc back to Texas. Her answer floored me. She said, "I'm not. I'm cleansing my chi. I gave away and sold most of my furniture and car." She literally was taking back what I considered to be the bare minimum: clothing, books, dvds and photographs.
Since that day, I thought about what she said, I even looked up the meaning of Chi. Chi is the energy that flows within the body. When our Chi is blocked health problems can arise, as well as mood swings, excess stress and fatigue.
When the new year came, I knew it was time for me to cleanse my chi. This week on my days off, I'll be tackling closets, boxes and un-necessary items. It's time I got rid of the clutter and got ride of things I no longer have any use for. Goodwill be on the lookout!

1st Awkward Moment of 2010

If I could have named this post: the most uncomfortable, awkward, vomit inducing moment ever then I think it would have fit perfectly. Seeing as how I thought that was too long, I went with awkward moment lol.
Remember last month when I mentioned there was a possibility of running into someone I wasn't for sure I wanted to see nor would he want to see me? If not here's the back story post

Guess what happened today? Oh... that's right! I'm sure you guessed it. We walked straight into  each other. Two words can describe it:  Awkward and Uncomfortable. And of course, it would be on his last day in town. We couldn't make it one more day?!?

At first I didn't even see him and then I saw him. Looking as nice as ever (of course). He had no where else to go but to walk forward. I had to talk to him. I couldn't pretend I didn't see him....I was working. I said the bare minimum. I smiled and I'm pretty for sure I even told him "Have fun" as he walked away. But here's what gets me... He's one of those people who can make my stomach go instantly into knots. Make my face feel flushed and a wave of nausea come over me. Maybe it's the situation? It would probably happen with anyone in the same place.

I do feel I was a good person. Considering how I was treated in a previous situation with him, I did nothing today but smile, be polite and wish him well. I'll continue to wish him well as I always have, even when he hurt my heart. I don't know what it is but I find myself wanting to be his friend. I know it'll never happen but for some unknown reason I just want him to know that I'd help him or be there for him if he ever needed it. I guess even though less than nice words were said, and bad behaviors were had, I guess I'll always wish for the best. Maybe one day in the future he'll think those same thoughts and get ahold of me. If not....well, I'm not holding my breath.

The Great Big Boom!

I have three major goals for myself in 2010.
Goal 1: To be debt free. I've been paying extra each month and I'm slowly getting closer and closer to the elusive status of "Debt Free".
Goal 2: To save more money. Oh, how I love you ING savings. Every month I'm going to make sure I put at least 10% of each paycheck directly into savings.
Goal 3: Have fun and smile! Do something fun every month. Take the time to smile, laugh and have a good time!

We're 2 days into 2010 and the crazy neighbors have struck again. If you haven't heard of their shenanigans before, then you can read about them here and here.

As for their latest offense, it happened New Years Eve. After a long days work, the steady and I went out to eat. We ended up at the Olive Garden where I gorged myself on Fettuccini Alfredo and breadsticks. Once we finished eating we came back to my house to watch a movie and the see the ball drop. Everything was going great.
About an hour after midnight, my steady needed to head home. So we said our goodbyes. I went back into my house and was going to change and get ready for bed since I had to work early the next morning. Apparently, my neighbors had other plans in store for the rest of the block.

Around 1:30 am, I heard this giant BOOM sound. It scared me to death. Once my heart started beating again, I thought, "Oh it's ok, I bet they're just letting off fireworks or someone's car back fired." Wrong. I hear the giant BOOM sound again. This time, I no longer believed it was a car nor fireworks. I run to my kitchen window (where I have an unobstructed view of their entire house) and see the male neighbor in his backward, wearing his underwear and shooting his shot gun into the sky. Umm...dude. We live in the city. This isn't the outback. And it's never appropiate to wear just your underwear outside at any point in the day or night.

Needless to say, he wasn't too smart and thankfully no one got hurt. I'm sure this year will bring many more crazy neighbor stories.....sigh.
