It's Thursday and that means it's time for another edition of Theater Thursday! After professing my love for all 80's movies yesterday, I decided to mix it up with something new for this week's movie pick- I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell.
Before I give my review of the movie, let me preface it by saying that I do not condone sexual harassment, bullying or sexism in any way shape or form in the real world. I have also not read Tucker Max's book in which this movie was based on.
This week I sat down and watched the movie I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell. If you haven't seen or heard about this movie then let me give you the basics. Tucker Max (Matt Czuchry) is a law school student who cares little about people or things. He enjoys drinking, getting laid and telling it like how he sees it. He hits on women every chance he gets and is on a quest to sleep with a little person stripper. During his best friend's bachelor party, him and his two friends get separated and the night turns into a who will survive the night sober and safe situation. The events that take place on the night of the bachelor party, Tucker is forced to face some of the consequences of his actions, for possibly the first time in his life... ever.
Personally, I laughed out loud. I thought the movie was hilarious. He tells it like he sees it (even though some of it is entirely inappropriate) and he makes no apologies. I know that he's controversial but I really did find the movie interesting because I knew there were guys still out there who think they can live their life this way. Tisk tisk...

Hey it's Logan from Gilmore Girls. I might have to check this out.
I would see this except I can't stand that actor. He was on Gilmore Girls and I personally feel like he overacts so I don't know if I could take him in a movie!
I haven't seen the movie, but I have read bits and pieces of the book - and my hubby read it and thought it was hilarious...
Sounds like a good one! Love your Thearter Thursdays! I could go for a weekend movie-fest. Happy almost library.
This movie was hilarious!
I read the book but did not see the movie. I laughed but I felt like I shouldnt be laughing. He is an @$$ but it was still funny, probably bc it didnt happen to me!
I read the book. The movie sounds like it's loosely based (although I read it almost 2 years ago, so I could have forgotten.)
Sometimes I liked it, sometimes I thought he was just trying to be an @$$hole just to make sure he kept up his reputation as one. If that makes any sense.
The movie sounds better, I might check it out!! (I'm sure my husband would find it funny!!)
I've debated seeing this/reading the book but I don't know if I can deal with his level of inappropriateness! He just seems like such a skeeze lol!
I started reading part of the book but had to put it down... if it was fiction I probably wouldn't have minded but it was a true story (supposedly) and he was pissing me off! lol
I heard that both the book and the movie were really funny!
My hubby couldn't stop talking about this movie, so I finally caved and watched it a few months back...very funny :)
That sounds like a seriously bizarre movie. I can't decide if it's one I want to see or not!
I've never heard of this movie but I love a good comedy!
XOXO

ha! I totally want to see it. I actually used to read his website when I was in law school just bc he was so wildly inappropriate, that I thought it was funny most of the time... ridiculous, but funny... :)
Have you read the book? My Hubby read it and had tears streaming down his face. Not just because he thought it was funny, but because it was so dang inappropriate! lol
I must watch this movie! I had a big crush on him when he played Logan on Gilmore Girls! He is such a cutie, and this movie sounds hilarious!
Ha!! The title of this movie is all the convincing I need!! I'm going to have to check it out!! Thanks for the rec girl!! I love your theater thursday series!!! :)
I thought the book was hysterical ... liked it much better than the movie! You should definitely check it out!
First of all, I love Logan from Gilmore Girls. Secondly, I saw this book at Barnes and Noble and was wondering about the basic plot. I may have to check this out.
