Each week, I pick a movie thats available on dvd (netflix, amazon, etc) watch it and then come here and review it. In all the years I've been doing Theater Thursday, I try not to repeat the same movies (except at the holidays sometimes) and try to find ones that others would enjoy just as much as I do. So do you have a movie that you've watched and think others should watch to? Yes? Well great! Post about it, grab my TT button and link up!
This week's featured movie is, Hocus Pocus.
Hocus Pocus stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as the three Sanderson Sisters. After being gone for 300 years, the Sanderson sisters are brought back to the town of Salem, Massachusetts on Halloween night. A young man named Max (Omri Katz), is visiting a museum that's home to the Sanderson sisters' artifacts. One of the artifacts is said to bring them back from the dead if lit. Max, trying to impress his younger sister, Dani (Thora Birch) and a girl he's smitten with Allison (Vinessa Shaw) decides to light the candle.
The Sanderson sisters appear and begin to reek havoc on the trio and town. However, to stay in the present time, they must gather the soul of a child. The sisters of course want either Dani or Max. The trio must spend their Halloween night fighting the sisters and trying to make sure that they don't get to stay.
If you've never seen this cute, Halloween movie then definitely check it out. It's a classic and has become a favorite over the years. You can usually catch it on television this time of year.

love Hocus Pocus!
Can you believe, I have never seen this movie?
Best Halloween movie EVER.
It's my favorite Halloween movie. :) It doesn't have to be gory or scary to be fun. I remember watching this every year at least three times...with warm socks on, a blanket over and hot chocolate in my hand. :) Can't wait to watch it again this weekend. Hopefully.
I can't beleive you haven't posted Hocus Pocus before now. It's such a childhood classic.
OMG girl! I rented this film so many times when I was younger my mother eventually bought it for me. I love love love it! And the feeling of that film and the look of the streets has always stayed with me of what Halloween should look like. Magical!
