Spilling the Beans

I have a confession to make. I am an obsessive list maker. There I said it. Please don't hate me.
I make a "To-Do" list every single day. At the end of the day, if all my items on the list have been marked off then I feel very accomplished. I can't help it, I've been this way for years. I find these lists everywhere. Maybe I should make it an item on my list to find and throw out all of my random "to do" lists laying around.

Why am I talking about this? Well that's because yesterday I got to mark off a big item on my list. I booked my flights for the month of May. If you thought I was driving out there, heck no! Also, I started the process of getting ride of things I don't need to take. I began with my bedroom closets (yes I said closets plural, I have 2) and oh my goodness! I think I have every piece of clothing I've ever bought. I was in a sorority in college and if you know anything about sorority life, it's that we love our t-shirts. I think I counted at least 20 greek life related t-shirts, not including big/little sweatshirts. I can't throw those out! The 1990's parachute pants...yeah those can be go bye bye.

I'm thinking I'm going to have to have my very 1st yard sale come spring. Maybe someone out there is dying for a VHS of Bedknobs and Broomsticks, a cassette player stereo or out dated clothing to wear to themed parties.

It's not where I originally was going but I think it's going to be fabulous! It's going to be a crazy, long adventure getting there but life is all about challenges, chances and making the most of it. I'm willing and welcoming it with open arms. You never know what can happen!

Doesn't it just look amazing!?!

I used to live there, once upon a time. It's a fantastic city. Really!

It sure does look a little bit like where I'll be moving in May...

I'm so excited for you and this big life change!

Have you ever thought about having a quilt made out of all of your sorority shirts? That's what I'm going to have done. I've already got them boxed up, just need to make time to make it myself or send it off to someone. You basically just piece together the front/back (or both) of the shirt into quilt squares and then put a back on it. I'd probably never use it, but it's an easier way to keep your shirts without having to actually keep them! (If that made sense...haha).

Fun times. Good luck in getting rid of the things you "dont need". Thats always hard.

I too am a compulsive list maker. I make to do lists. With my job it just encourages this list making bonanza.

I was in a sorority/society (we werent greek-tiny private college) in college as well and yep we loved our tees and sweatshirts. My bf doesnt get it. Nice to see us sorority/society girls get eachother

Have fun setting up your first garage sale. They are always fun if you get your friends to help out too.

Now I totally know where you are going. It will be a nice change of scenery. =)

YOu sound super excited and pumped!! And the t-shirts you were talking about.... I had my college ones made into a quilt. They held so many memories I didn't want to throw them out. Now, I have them forever in a cool quilt..... just an idea. :)

i am also a bit of a 'to do' list freak... they're everywhere. which leads me to feeling overwhelmed when they pop up randomly... I start thinking that maybe I didn't complete all the stuff. :( Que more list making for the day.

Ahh...cleaning out the closet. It's amazing sometimes the junk you find hiding WAAAY in the back!

Congrats on crossing off a BIG to-do on your life list!

Yardsales suck! Fair warning -- you heard it here first.

How are you going to get your car out there!? or is that a stupid question?

Whoa.. have fun!
I was really glad I got to do that last summer.. I was surprised by how little of my stuff I used on a regular basis. 10 year old bottle of lotion? Yeah, still not my favorite scent. 20 pairs of mittens? {you can't help it! You lose them and have to get more!} Shoes you haven't worn in three years? {and aren't going to make a comeback for another 10..}
Yep.. cleaning out the house it very nice!

PS: I {heart} to do lists!

First I wanted to say thank you for the comment you left on my most recent post. I'm pretty nervous so talking to someone who's going through a similar change helps me feel better. Second, can you come and help me clean out my closets?! They are a disaster!

There is something so freeing about getting rid of "stuff". Good luck preparing for the big move. Also, thanks for posting the butterscotch brownie recipe! I plan to make some this weekend to send in a care package to my hubby!

Oh that DOES look amazing!

Lists are great, especially when I stick to them. I'll have to get back on track with those.

And I still have clothing from my HS days! If it still fits and is (not going to be) in style I say keep it ;)
