Theater Thursday

This week's featured movie is Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory
I absolutely love this movie! Even though I own it on dvd, I still watch it every time it comes on television. It's such a fun movie, I always find myself singing along and smiling.
Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory came out in 1971. Mr. Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder) has decided to open his chocolate factory doors to the public, specifically 5 children.
To be one of the 5 people, you have to find a golden ticket. The catch is...the golden tickets are hidden on the inside of 5 chocolate bars located anywhere in the world. Since the factory doors have been closed for years, naturally everyone on the planet wants to get inside! The world gets flipped upside down looking for these tickets. Once the 5 tickets have been found the group gathers to go inside the factory. Once inside they see things they never dreamed possible or could have ever imagined. Along the way, misbehaving children see bad results and their trip cut short. So who will make it through the factory in one piece?
Trust me...don't walk....run to the nearest Best Buy or Target and purchase this dvd. It's one to be owned...not rented!
Now here's the really fun part! Have a movie you love or have recently watched that's out on dvd and think others should see it too? Post about it, then come back here and link up!

One of my all-time favorite movies. I HATE the new one, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I think Tim Burton ruined another great film idea.

ahh! i love that movie! i rememeber in elementary school, we all had to read the book, and if we finished it, we got to watch the movie on a friday afternoon in the library with treats and everything. the best part was that they gave out 5 golden tickets, and if you got one, you got to sit on the couch! i can't remember if i got one or not, but it was still fun!

Ah! What a classic! Do you like the newer, Tim Burton version?! I was skeptical, but I love Johnny Depp!

This was a great movie! I was so in love with all that candy. I still wish there was a real place like that. I would be on the first bus there!

You're going to hate me, but I've never liked any incarnation of that story. Ever since I was a little kid, it freaked me out to no end. And the new one? Were they trying to make Willy Wonka a pedophile? cause that's totally the vibe I got.

I loved this movie...but for some reason I never saw the end. When the new one came out I fell asleep half an hour before it ended!

I have to say I HATE Willy Wonka! I really thought I was the only person on the planet who felt that way.... i just always thought it was weird as a kid and then when I grew up I worked at the rocky mountain chocolate factory and they played it over and over again!
