My Charlton Heston Moment

This week has been crazy. I've been so busy and on the go. Actually, this whole month is packed out schedule wise for me. Besides working all this weekend, I need to pack! The Florida trip is creeping up fast and I've got so much to do before Monday!
Ahhhhh!
Ok first up, as you've seen in pictures on the good ol' blog here, I've got very blonde hair. Growing up, I was a natural blonde. Around my junior year of high school my hair started to become more naturally brown. Well I remedied that my freshman year in college and started the wicked cycle known as highlighting. Over the years my hair went from having a little brown in it to full out blonde. Recently however, I've wanted to not have to worry about the up keep and I've decided to start going back slowly to completely brown hair.

Plus, it's really expensive to be blonde! Each time I go to the salon it's 100 dollars! That's 100 dollars that could be going into my savings account. So today when I went to the salon, we started putting low lights into my hair and leaving more of the brown that had grown in (over the last 3 months). I couldn't just go straight to a full head of brown hair. I think that would have sent me into shock. Not to mention I freaked a little bit. So here's to the beginning of less up keep, saving money and going back to brown!
Apart from running around town like a chicken with my head cut off, trying to get things scratched off my to do list, we've been dealing with crazy weather! Last night I was awoken at 2:00am because the lightening and the thunder was so bright and loud!
Seriously people, it made me think Moses was outside my house beating his big stick on our concrete screaming, "YOU WILL NOT PASS!"

The power got knocked off several times. When the power was on, the lights kept flickering like some bad horror movie and with every crackle of thunder it felt as if the house shook. I'm just glad we made it through it and was able to witness the monsoon that took place today at noon.

Moving on... I meant to mention this the other day but as you have it, I got busy. If you've been following for awhile then you've heard me talk about Miss Miranda, a friend and fellow blogger. Well if you haven't heard or haven't been over to Miss Miranda's blog lately, then you've missed her announcement! She's started her own blog design business called, Little Sailor Designs! If you want to see some of her work, check out her blog or even place and order then head on over there! Miss you Miranda!

So there you have it ladies and gents. Once Monday comes, I'll be in Florida! I also plan on tweeting a ton while there with great photos and such so make sure you follow me! Jmomiller

Can't wait to see the new color! I'm thinking I might go darker this fall but I'm always a little nervous about it! I love being blonde!

I wanna see the outcome. Do you like it? I feel your pain on the 100 bucks but every time I try to go darker I end up asking for my blond the next round!! You just might inspire me to change!!

I look forward to seeing you're new hair. Also I'm pretty sure my care almost got struck by lightning last night. There was a crazy storm here too.

I started highlighting a year ago and while I love it, I have considered going back to my natural color bc it is SO expensive. Why why why?

That storm was so crazy! But I loved it especially when I was going to sleep :) I would love to see a pic of your new hair! Brunettes have fun too!

Can't wait to see the "hairevolution"! The salon can definitely be a beating on the pcketbook. It's going to look great. You have the coloring to go darker.

LOL Going to the salon today. Isn't it amazing what we will do for our blond? :)

good for you to save money! I used to have blond highlights but went back to full brown (this was a few years ago) because it saves so much money!

I was red for a couple of years and loved it....but eventually the expense and the rate of upkeep was too much for me and I went back to my brown. I still miss the red though.

I like how when this blog started I thought "how is she getting from highlights to Charlton Heston?" But you did it...and i enjoyed it! :-D

We had lightning like that last night on my way home from work! Crazy! And then this morning, I was in my pantry cleaning and lightning struck in the trees behind my house on the pantry side. I probably needed a video of my reaction! I am looking forward to seeing your new do.

I left a little something for you on my blog.

Have a great weekend!

I used to have white blond hair when I was little, and as I go older it slowly started to get darker. Back in high school I used to highlight my hair to attempt to be at least a little blonde, but by the end of college I had given it up, and my hair doesn't have a trace of blonde left in it.

I'm excited for your tweets :)

I started out blond too. Like children of the corn creepy blond, then it got darker. I've never been blond in my adult life. So I've been thinking about doing it.

I, too, want to see the after picture. :)
I can't give up my salon blonde. I'm a natural brunette, but love love love the blonde on me. The moola is well spent. But I can see where you're coming from, it is expensive and it could totally be used on something else or placed in savings. Either way, going to the salon in general feels good.

Have fun in Florida. I'll have to wait for you to come back to hear updates as I don't have twitter. What about FB?

I feel you on the $100. It is painful! That's why this ole gal is all natural these days. :) Can't wait to see the outcome!!

Have fun on your trip!! Be safe traveling and looking forward to reading your tweets. :)

I want to see pictures of what the finished product of your hair looks like! I bet it looks great. Man, I can see why the upkeep becomes not worth it, that must end up being expensive!

I remember those days of highlighting...I started with highlights and then just got lighter and lighter till I was BLONDE as the day is long. Then i went back to brown and found the Clairol box highlight. unfortunately, once you go to that color blonde it's hard to dye it back with a box...I still have remnants of it to this day!

My hair was white blonde as a child, but the moment I started turning brown in fifth grade my mother started having my hair highlighted. It is DANG expensive! I have only been my natural brown for a total of 2 years in my life. (Every few years I get an itch to try it again and hate it.)
