My Newest Obsession

For the past 2 weeks I have been doing yoga.
I decided to do it on a whim one day and fell in love with it. I've been doing it 3 times a week and to me it feels fun and not like a work out. Don't get me wrong, I sweat while participating but it doesn't feel like one of those makes me want to cry kill me now tradition workouts. For me that's what got me hooked. I don't want to be screamed at while working out. I don't wanna hear, "Give me 5 more!" I just want to work out in peace.

I love the poses. I love that it's helping me bring back some of my flexibility that I've lost. I love that it makes me feel good. I also love to golf clap at the end because I just feel that good.
For me to be excited about a workout is unreal. I haven't been motivated for a long time in the work out department. I use to be obsessed with working out in college and since then it fell to the way side. Yoga... it's putting me in a good balance.
So my question is, do any of you do yoga? I've been trying to find places online that sell great yoga clothing but for cheap. I'm the only girl who's been rocking gym shorts and a t-shirt so I'm thinking I might need to rectify that soon. But I'm also not one of those girls who wears strappy little tank tops and tight tight shorts to the gym. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Target has these wonderful pants that I LOVE wearing to yoga. They're lightweight and so comfortable that I feel like i'm not wearing anything at all! And I just saw that they have them in colors other than black.

Glad you're enjoying it! Your post has made me want to get back into it!

I usually just wear shorts/t-shirts, so I'm no help in the clothing department... :)

I've done yoga on and off for the past couple of years. I often look at Target or even somewhere like T.J. Maxx for workout clothes.

I get a lot of mine at Old Navy, if you go when there's a sale you can find good deals, as well as New York & Co, they're long pants, but I wear them all the time, not just for yoga stuff :)

I was going to say Target also. I like their C9 collection of workout clothes. I have taken a couple of yoga classes in my life but now I usually just stick to yoga videos if I do yoga.

Yes, def. Target - and Old Navy's yoga pants are awesome, esp. when they're on sale! I love them, they don't slip and slide up and down your rear end when you're bending over and shifting everywhere. Yoga is great - I'll never forget the first time I tried it, i walked away feeling light as a feather - it's like oxygen is getting to places that have never felt it before! amazing!Yoga teachers are the best, too - such nice, gentle peeps :)

Do you know of any good Yoga DVDs? I no longer have a gym membership and I enjoy working out in the comfort of my own home (when I do work out, that is! ha).
Yoga is something I am interested in, but it's a struggle for me because I can't freaking balance!!! What am I doing wrong??

I've thought about doing yoga before, but I'm always too scared! I might start with some at home DVDs just to see what it's all about... Haha :)

I tried yoga once years ago and couldn't get into it. Maybe I should give it another shot...

I practice Bikram Hot Yoga and it is awesome. It is a 90 minute moving meditation. They have some cool yoga gear.

I love posts like this. :)
I've been practicing for 2 years now and it never gets old...seriously it just keeps getting better and better! Most of my clothes I've just picked up at Target. They have some seriously cute yoga camis in there from time to time!

Now you've gotten me so excited about my class tonight!

I love yoga more than anything! When I was doing it at school mulitple times a week I was so stinking toned. I am so sad that the yoga studio I started going to just closed down. Boo! The best place I've found to get yoga pants is at Victoria Secret. They have AWESOME yoga pants, they have some really cute capri ones that are great for doing it in the summer, or if your studio is really warm. I also have a really good pair from old navy, and I have some that are made by balley total fitness, but hands down victoria secret is the best. And a lot of times when they send you those free undies coupons in the mail they have $10 off coupons and so you can get them for super cheap, like $15 bucks!

That is great tha you found something that you love. Yoga is such a great workout for both the body and the mind. I used to go to classes weekly, but fell off the wagon. I'm going to take up kickboxing and yoga soon. Thanks for the motivation!

Isn't yoga FANTASTIC?!!! I just LOVE it SO much! I have found that not only does it help my back and my posture, but it has helped with so many other aches and pains I wasn't aware of! I just feel so amazing afterward! :D

As for clothing, I still rock the gym shorts. but for tops, I've switched to those tank/bra combo things. Keeps me covered, breathable, and I don't have to worry about a t-shirt in my face.

I can't do yoga. I almost died laughing while doing it.

oh I totally rock over-sized t-shirts and gym shorts when I work out lol. If I'm forcing myself to go to the gym I need to be as comfortable as possible lol.

I love yoga! It's what I always go back to when life gets me down or I'm feeling off... I'm actually going to do a teacher training soon!

As for clothes, Target is a great place to start while your feeling out your commitment to yoga. Get a pair of crops that you're comfortable in and get a shirt that doesn't ride up when you do a down dog. So it needs to have some stretch...

If you want to commit to some workout clothes at some point and are willing to pay more to have clothes that will last a long time (if you treat them well) then look into Lululemon. I actually only have one top and two bottoms from them. However, they are heavily rotated because they are what I want to wear! They feel good, keep me dry and move with me. I have the Wonder Unders (I'm so not a leggings girl but these won me over) and they are my favorite bottoms. Hands down. No riding down or up, no but crack showing when I twist, and they never grab when I'm lunging.

I prefer crops to short or pants... Less fabric plus coverage.

You'll figure out what works for you!

I've recently gotten into yoga. I do it on my "off" days from my traditional workouts. You're right..... it's a good workout yet calming at the same time. You can try NIKE online. It's not the cheapest but I really like their stuff. And it holds up great!

I love Prana. So versatile... you can wear it to yoga or out to brunch.

I LOVE yoga too but haven't been doing it for a long while. Thanks to your post, I will be starting up again tomorrow! I've always just worn "whatever", so I think "appropriate" yoga wear is needed! haha. Your followers have a lot of good store suggestions....I will be checking them out soon! Thanks!! :)
