Theater Thursday

It's Thursday and that means it's time for another edition of Theater Thursday! This week's featured movie is something we just saw in the Theater... London Has Fallen.

London Has Fallen is the sequel to Olympus Has Fallen. This time Gerard Butler is back as Secret Service Agent Mike Banning protecting the President- Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart). When the Prime Minister of England dies, it's Mike's duty to escort the President to London for the memorial service. Before leaving for London, Mike's wife is only weeks away from giving birth to their first child. He has reservations about going but is assured by his wife that she and the baby will wait till his return.

The President's team also has reservations about such a short notice trip to the U.K. but since it's for a funeral they have no choice to go. Once they get there the team with Mike leading the way is on top alert. Leaders from all around the world descend on London to pay their respects. What they don't know is someone is back in town to seek revenge. When each world leader begins to get targeted Mike realizes they are in serious trouble. Now it will be a race against time to get the President out of London and back to Air Force One which is relatively safe given the situation.

When Mike realizes they aren't going to make it to the plane he realizes guarding the President is now on him all alone. The President does what he can to help but will it be enough? Watch London Has Fallen and find out! Will the President make it out of London alive? Will Mike be able to protect him again and make it back to see his son born? Watch and see.

I'm glad you did a review on this movie. I was wondering if it would be a good one to add to the list of movies to see.

I was really excited to see this--action movies are one of the few genres my husband and I agree on--but then it didn't get very good reviews. Without giving anything away, did you enjoy it? And did you see White House Down? We just watch that earlier this month and really enjoyed it. We thought it was the better version of Olympus Has Fallen.

Waiting to see this along with his other two Gods of Egypt and Geostorm.
