Let me say right now ladies, randomly checking your significant other's e-mail account without their knowledge will always lead to something bad. It doesn't matter if they've given you their password....something will always be there that let's the mind wonder....
With that being said, I will now jump down from my soap box.
Today is my Sunday and I'm back to work tomorrow. I'm more than ready for a vacation. I'm going with family to Gaitlinburg, TN over Labor Day and I can't wait. It's been about 2 years since I've been there. I use to go all the time as a kid (it's where my family would always go for our entire family vacation) and now that I haven't got for awhile I kinda miss it more than I thought I would. Besides that vacation, I'm not doing anything else until sweets comes home. I'm trying to save up every annual day I can accrue so I'll be able to take leave for his homecoming!
Where did all of you vacation as a kid? Was I the only one to get pushed in the car and taken on a Clark Griswold type family trip each summer???

I've never been to Gaitlinburg but I hear it is beautiful! Maybe you'll post some pics for us after your trip? :)
we packed up our car and went to Myrtle Beach SC every summer for 15 years...i miss it terribly! i hope you have fun on your vacay over labor day
We used to go to Texas A LOT because my mothers side of the family lived there!
Vacationing with the family in TN will be a great time! That's definitely something to look forward to ;)
I use to live in Knoxville growing up and love the Smokey Mnts. I wish I was there right now. We went to the Outer Banks every year and still do. It brings back so many memories each year. Maybe when your man comes home you guys can get away somewhere!
looking in your hubbys email does always turn bad...i learned that..i ruined my own birthday presend :P
and yes i was forced in the car every single summer for a great vaation!
Myrtle Beach, baby!
And, you're right about the email thing. However, my brother did find out his first wife cheated on him because they had a shared account. While she was at work, he printed off multiple reams of paper of said email and wallpapered their house with it. That's house she found out he knew. While totally crazy and more than sad, I thought the method was brilliant. ;)
OMG love the Griswald vacation movies!
That's HOW she found out. It's early and I can't type.
We definitely have each other's email passwords. And passwords to well, everything I think. I check his account pretty often because we can't get our cable company to forward the bill to my address and because USAA is dumb and only sends him our monthly statements (I've tried everything) and tax information.
If I haven't heard from him in a few days, I will check his email just to see if he has been reading his email. You know you are the wife of a deployed soldier when.....But I definitely don't actually read his email. That's weird.
We had a beach house right next to Atlantic City and I'd go there every summer. Besides that the Atlantis in the Bahamas is what I remember going to most!!
Ouu fun times!! Let us know what you pick!!
We took vacations every summer, but they were always someplace different. It's one of the best memories of my childhood.
I check hubby's email every now and again for updates from a missionary friend and stuff from his parents. If he had stuff in there I shouldn't see then we would have big issues. I think if you have a good relationship to begin with, checking email is no big deal.
We ALWAYS traveled during the summer, roadtrip style. We went to Texas a lot to see my Dad's family. My Dad also liked to take us to national parks, and go camping. Good memories!
I hope you have fun with your family in TN!!!
I so agree... I don't even check Hubby's email because when I used to it always led to problems!!!
My family was way to poor to go anywhere during the summer... plus we lived on a farm and had to hay and irrigate all freaking summer.
We went on a few family vacations, mostly to Myrtle Beach or camping, but we were too poor to do much more than that, lol. I wish we had been able to do the Griswold thing... woulda been a nice experience for the family. :) I hope to do that stuff with our kids.
There can be a fine line between having access and going looking for something (aka: snooping)... your mind can trick you into seeing something that may not be there.
We had road trips but to different locations. One common one was to Montana to visit family, up to Canada a couple of times and usually over to Seattle for a 3 day weekend was also typical.
Every spring break my family would load up into the motor home for 10 days and drive as far as we could before we had to turn around.
I swear I have been to every museum and seen every petrified rock on the west coast!
Couldn't agree more. I used to check my boyfriends facebook, email, bank account etc. and we would ALWAYS fight about what I would find (nothing related to cheating, just small things, ha!) Now that I don't check those things any more we get along much better! ESPECIALLY his bank account, since I HATED watching him waste away so much money at the convenience store!!
Have a good trip!
I have my hubby's password but I only check it when he asks me to... other than that I don't really care enough to check it on the regular! People should trust their husband's, fiance's, boyfriend's... ect.
Long car trips aren't that special. lol I remember 3 times we would load up the car and journey from colorad to jersey or maryland. It SUCKED! Miserable. Road trips are completely overrated in my book! =)
We always went up to Maine, we had a couple great Uncles with cabins and we'd stay for a week. Loved it.
Our family trip was always down to topsail north Carolina every summer and then on the way home we would stop at....GAITLINBURG! WE are actually going in Sept! Have a great time!
Peeking into his email/phone/facebook/etc really doesn't ever turn out well, I should know.
We always used to go camping as a family, just me and my mom and dad. We did tents, cabins, and eventually a popup camper. It was...so...fun...
I'm not the family camping type, clearly.
We had a few vacations where we fly to D.C.
A few where we drove to Vegas (included once when the air conditioning died, and 2nd where the after waking up the first morning it was discovered I had chicken pox)
However most vacation we drove up to the mountains to go camping
